Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 107: The dinner party - I
Evelyn wore a maroon velvet top which had a little bit of cleavage on top of it but she found it to be normal. It was not too much making it perfect to be paired with a pair of Black jeans.
Black heels for this stable and so was a class that had a long golden chain as its handle.
Her golden hair were straight and falling behind her back which gave her a sleek and well put together look. It was an effortless look as she did not want it to seem like she had dressed to the nines just because he was their son’s girlfriend.
There was also another thing that was bothering her. It was the event that had a good in the office of the Don merely hours ago.
Justice confident she had been in that scenario, in front of him, she was now just as anxious. Anxious enough to jump off the building so that he could never ever see her face again.
But of course I will and would never have that luxury. She had to go out in face him especially when the the dinner party at his parents house was at thirty minutes past seven and it was already 6:15.
45 minutes.
But he was going to be in front of her door in another five and that Evelyn knew that door sure. The sad part of it was she could do nothing for him to not come forward.
She huffed and rubbed her sweaty hands over her jeans. How was he going to react? What they going to continue it?
Would make no sense for them to continue something like this. Especially—
Evelyn groaned loudly. Why would she do something like that. Where was her brain? Why did she not think!
She gulped and thought about it again. Jumping from the balcony in which seem like a good idea. Minimum damage, cleanup could be done very easily. She was sure that the don had an unlimited supply of bleach.
The knock on my door made her jumper Evelyn placed a hand on her chest to calm herself down. It was okay. She just had to act like nothing happened and it will all be okay.
Who the fuck was she kidding?
Taking off her back by the chain she moved to open the door and stood in front of it as Salvatore stood on the other side.
"Are you ready?" He asked and gave her a once over. "You can go and check if you feel like something is missing."
She gave him a shake of head over that. Thank god for him to be so considerate.
"I’m fine," she smiled, "are you ready to go?" She gave him an up-and-down look when she said that. Evelyn had hardly ever seen him to be dressed in casual clothes. Today he was wearing a button down shirt along with matching pants.
It was almost as if he had come home without his jacket. Nothing was out of the ordinary.
"Don?" Evelyn took a small leap and asked, "do you not own a pair of jeans and a t-shirt?"
He gave her an annoyed look. "Jackets make it easier for me to conceal my weapons."
Ah, of course. That explained a lot.
Without any further time wasted, Salvatore led her into the luft from where they went to the ground floor before walking towards the car. Once inside Salvatore took the opportunity to drive this time.
Salvatore Alessandro was like a sight to watch and entertain herself with whenever he drove. The veins in his arms would often bulge out especially when he had rolled his sleeves up to his elbows. If that did not happen, then the veins on his hands were enough for her to keep her satisfied.
It was like the man had been built for her wanton thoughts and entertainment. Evelyn felt like she was a beach in heat when she was around him. It was like a constant need to keep on jumping onto his bones.
She looked away from him and outside the car from the window. There was still in the city and since it was a little busy around this time there was only going to take more time than necessary to reach their. Probably why Salvatore had them leave the house earlier than usual.
Thing she noticed about him was Salvatore did not like to be late when he could avoid it and he definitely avoided it.
"Don’t you like to be late?" She blurted out before restructuring her words. "I mean no one likes to be late but sometimes it can be excused."
"It can," he agreed before he gave her a glance and looked back at the road. "Why? Would you like me to be late?"
Another frustrating thing about Salvatore was that he could surely get serious about everything she said and it was slightly irritating. Evelyn gave a shake of her head to that.
"Just saying." She admitted. "I mean you’re always leave the house on time and today you must have known that it was going to be a rush hour which is why is actually made this leaves the house almost an hour early."
He chuckled, "mostly because I just like pink punctual. That is a habit my mother has noticed in me from the beginning. If I have to reach at eight, will make sure that I reach five minutes before 8 o’clock."
Five minutes early was a concept that she could agree with is well. But Salvatore take it to the extreme sometimes.
What she remembered her father take a lot of time to attend his meetings and at times he would come home in the early hours of the morning that did not happen with Salvatore. He was always home at dinnertime.
"How do you turn your meetings? Because you always come around dinnertime and with with my father, I remember that he could be a little late at times." Or not just return home at all. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
He smiled when Evelyn regarded as a sarcastic smile it was actually a good and pleasant one. He was remembering happy Times.
"This was something I learnt from my father. After we were born, mother made sure that all of us had at least two meals together on weekdays and that was breakfast and dinner." He chuckled. "My father agreed to it was hardly ever he missed those with us."
Wow, she nodded her head.
It was hard to find families with such loyalty towards each Other. Especially mafia family’s. Sometimes even blood was forgotten when it came to such criminally organised family is. Blood was always thicker than water and it was kept closed but sometimes the families were cold and distant towards each other.
One of them knew where their members were but they never knew how to talk.
Somehow that was exactly how Evelyn and her father had become after her mother’s passing. They have become cold and distant towards each Other. Her father was aware of what she was doing and so were she. If they will never lost a soldier or Maria about where her father was, she would get the exact location but they never saw each other more than once in a day.
They did they, then Evelyn considered it as her lucky day because it was rarely ever so.
She cleared her throat finding it to be slightly difficult to talk. Whenever she thought about her father or level and think about was not have enough time spent with him.
If Evelyn had known that he was going to die and he was already sick she would have stayed by his bedside and would have never left him alone.
She felt his hand over her side as he lied please please read. His thumb rubbed her skin over her and she was thankful to wear something that cover all of herr legs.
"Don’t," he warned.
"What?" She mumbled frowning lightly.
"It is not take physics to understand that me talking about my father makes you remember yours." He answered effortlessly as he turned the car to the left. "Don’t think about it, Evelyn. It’s been 2 months."
It was easier said than done. With the guilt that weighed heavy in her mind, it was very easy to say it.
"I could have been there for him Salvatore." She reluctantly revealed having no longer the intention of keeping It inside. "If I had been there for him things could happen different. In fact he could have been alive."
They had the money, the connections and she knew that they would have enough resources as well to make sure that her father could never face death.
He shook his head and she watched him from the corner of her eyes. "I know what happened to him even in. You never checked its medical records. Cancer at stage four is very difficult to be treated."
Cancer?
She closed her eyes.
"You never checked, love." He squeezed her thigh. "Your father never paid attention to his health. People like us usually go for checkups every six months and he ignored it."
Salvatore was not as good at it ad he thought he was. The guilt with even heavier in her mind.
