CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 65 - 73: So Fast
"Do you want to come back with me, or stay here another day?" James Black asked.
Ultimately, he didn’t go over to cleanup after her, but Jane Sampson’s emotions had successfully stirred up a mess inside him.
"Back home! Back home!" Jane Sampson immediately jumped out of bed, "Wait for me, I’m going to change my clothes!"
He was about to return to the Guardians of the Solar Galaxy, and she would be alone at home—of course, she was eager to go back!
It’s great to go home! It’s bliss to go home! There’s no Chief Black at home!
Because her lips were swollen from being bitten by James Black, Jane Sampson refused to take off her mask as soon as she exited the bedroom and naturally, she didn’t want to have breakfast at home either.
When Old Master Black saw the two of them coming downstairs, he uttered a sound of surprise, looking at James Black with a very disappointed gaze, "Why are you so quick?"
The double entendre made James Black’s face darken again.
Great, as a man, first he was disliked by his wife, and then questioned by his own grandfather.
The mood of James Black returning to the Solar Planet Guardians darkened even further.
"The Solar Planet Guardian Team urgently summoned me. I’ll take her home first." James Black told the two elders before taking Jane Sampson, whose face hadn’t even dared to let Old Master Black glimpse, away.
It wasn’t until they were in the car that Jane Sampson took off her mask and pulled out a mirror to look at her face, stealing glances at James Black.
Jane sensed that Chief Black was in a bad mood, so for the sake of her life, she silently put on her mask again and leaned in the co-pilot seat pretending to be asleep. Halfway through the journey, when James Black pulled the car over to the roadside, Jane didn’t dare to open her eyes to ask what he was doing, and resolved to feign sleep to the end.
When James Black got back in the car after getting his stuff, he saw Jane Sampson’s eyelashes flutter and then close again quickly, her sneaky demeanor made him burst out laughing.
He snorted and shoved breakfast into Jane Sampson’s hands, saying coldly, "Stop pretending, hurry up and eat, then apply some ointment."
Jane Sampson then reopened her eyes, giggling foolishly with her meal in hand as if nothing happened, realizing he had gone to buy breakfast and medicine for her.
The car started up again and the vehicle was filled with the fragrance of meat buns. Next to him was a young wife enjoying her meal. James Black’s bad mood unexpectedly began to dissipate bit by bit.
"You should eat too." Jane Sampson reached out to offer some to James Black, "They must have summoned you back to the Solar Planet Guardian Team for an emergency. You probably won’t have time to eat breakfast in the dining hall, so eat what you can on the road."
Even apart from romantic emotions, Jane Sampson still cared for James Black. She had a vague understanding of the life and affairs of the Solar Planet Guardians, but due to her seniors, she knew a bit more than ordinary people.
If someone of James Black’s position was urgently summoned back, it certainly meant there was something very important and urgent that he needed to decide on or accomplish. Being a soldier, it was a common occurrence to go without three meals a day, and in this regard, Jane Sampson was truly sympathetic toward James Black.
James Black didn’t put on airs, either. The morning traffic on Capital Province street over the weekend wasn’t great, so he just took the uneaten breakfast from Jane Sampson’s hand and tucked it all into his belly.
As he watched her little hand continuously elevated, feeding him buns one moment and then worriedly bringing soy milk to his lips the next to avoid choking, James Black felt the importance of the wife’s role for the first time.
She cares about you.
When the car reached the residential community, Jane Sampson was applying ointment James Black bought to her lips using a mirror when she inadvertently noticed in the mirror’s reflection a huge and incredibly obvious pimple on her chin.
It was red, swollen, and the kind that hurts when touched.
