To be honest, Jane Sampson wasn’t entirely sure how the Great General managed to offend Chief Black.
Could it be that he held a grudge because the Great General took her share of potato chips this morning?
Otherwise, walking the dog in such hot weather, he must be looking to wager both his life and the Great General’s, right?
"What’s wrong?" James Black pulled out a set of clothes from the wardrobe and tossed them to her, "Put these on and take the Great General out for a walk."
"..." Looking at the clothes James Black had thrown at her, Jane Sampson felt that it wasn’t only the Great General who had offended him, but also herself.
Short sleeves, long pants, a typical afternoon in Capital Province, he was probably after her life too.
Was it because she sneaked some ice cream?
Or because she ate candy?
So cruelly concocting this plan as punishment?
"Hurry up." Seeing Jane Sampson just holding the clothes and staring at him without moving, James Black urged her.
"I’m not going!" Jane Sampson tossed the clothes back to the side, not even knowing when she had left this set of clothes here herself; it was impressive that James Black knew she had this outfit there.
After refusing, Jane Sampson intended to just lie back down, but she never would have imagined that James Black would suddenly lean over her, forcefully strip her of the dress she was wearing, and completely restrain her to put on the set of clothes he chose.
By the time she had changed and got picked up from the bed by James Black, Jane Sampson’s face was beet red, flushed from embarrassment and anger.
"James Black, you’re a bully!" Jane Sampson pointed at James Black, scolding him, her fingers trembling with anger.
"Mmm." James Black readily admitted to her accusation and then asked, "Do you want to go downstairs by yourself or shall I carry you down?"
Jane Sampson was about to say she wouldn’t go, but seeing James Black already bending over, ready to pick her up, she hastily changed her tune, "I’ll walk by myself!"
Being carried downstairs like that and seen by the seniors in the building, would she have any dignity left?
Hearing Jane Sampson say she would walk by herself, James Black nodded in satisfaction, reached out to grab her wrist, and led her downstairs.
"Great General." Having come downstairs, James Black did not let go of Jane Sampson’s wrist and called out to the Great General, who was dozing off in the corner.
The Great General, hearing James Black’s voice, lifted its head to look at him, lazily wagging its tail while lying there without any intention of standing up.
"Let’s go out and play." James Black shook the dog leash at the Great General.
The Great General’s first reaction was to get up excitedly, but after just a few steps and a glance outside the window, it quickly ran back to where it was lying and lay down again, clearly uninterested in James Black’s suggestion of going out to play.
"The Great General doesn’t want to go." Jane Sampson chuckled with a "hehe," "Then let’s not..."
Before she could finish saying "let’s not go," Jane Sampson watched as James Black walked over to the Great General, slipped the dog leash over the panic-stricken animal’s neck, and then, holding one hand on her and the other on the dog leash, with his unbeatable strength, led both her and the dog out of the home doorway.
Jane Sampson and the Great General, both with forlorn expressions, exchanged glances and silently followed behind James Black, with only the conversations from the living room reaching Jane Sampson’s ears.
"Do young people these days all have such fiery tempers?" Oliver Black, holding his son, looked outside at the blazing sun, "Walking the dog on such a hot day, did anyone ask the dog’s opinion?"
"Did uncle take aunt out for training?" The handsome little boy asked in confusion.
"How pitiful, my fair and beautiful granddaughter-in-law." Old Master Black showed a heartbroken expression, deciding then and there that he couldn’t claim James Black was brought up by him.
