Chapter 405: Chapter 413: You Go Alone

One portion was for the relatives at the Black Residence, one was for Grandpa and Granny Sampton, and another was for Bright Sampton.

After dividing them, Jane Sampson returned to the living room and saw James Black already sitting there, reading a book. She approached him and casually asked, "Why don’t you read in the study? If you close the study’s door, I won’t disturb you with my rustling around here in the living room."

James Black glanced at Jane Sampson but didn’t reply.

Jane Sampson couldn’t figure out what James’s look meant. She raised her hand to scratch her head and then walked over to James, sitting right next to him with her eyes sparkling as she looked at him.

"If you have something to say, just say it," James finally tore his gaze away from Jane’s face and returned it to the book on his knee.

"You aren’t in a rush to read right this moment, are you?" Jane smiled with cunning charm, "How about I cook lunch for you today?"

Since her rebirth, Jane had never seriously cooked a meal, although James had cooked several times, making meals that Jane found distasteful.

James was quite surprised to hear Jane make such an offer out of the blue.

He couldn’t figure out what her flattery was for at that moment.

As for the cunning part, James was even more baffled.

After thinking for nearly a minute, James could only think of one reason.

"I said one month means one month, not even a day more, even if you make a complete Manchu-Han banquet," James’s expression wasn’t too amiable, because he felt that Jane’s sudden eagerness to please him must be about that one-month deadline.

"No adding, no adding," Jane waved her hands repeatedly with a look of sincerity on her face, "Unless something unexpected happens, I’ll definitely be able to finish filming my part in one month."

Truth be told, Jane really was suddenly in the mood to make a lunch meal, but they lacked ingredients at home, meaning James would have to go to the supermarket by himself to buy stuff. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Of course, she thought, since they were having lunch anyway, why not invite Bright Sampton over to eat together?

"What do you want to eat? Order away," Jane reached out and took the book from James’s knee, then wrapped her arms around his arm directly, "You know about my culinary skills."

James looked at Jane for a few seconds, still unable to guess if Jane had any other motives, but he couldn’t deny that her cooking was indeed very good.

"Chopped chili fish head, beef fillet with green peppers, mix green vegetables with minced garlic and soy sauce, hmm, and add braised pork and boiled shrimp," James listed the menu in one go, without any hesitation.

"Okay, but first things first, you need to go to the supermarket and buy all the ingredients," Jane added, "You go alone."

"Then add handmade beef meatballs too, make extra so I can bring some back to the guard team," after saying this, James stared intently at Jane, "This is something you already agreed to last time, so today, it’s time to deliver."

Damn it.

All the dishes were labor-intensive.

Jane Sampson held her forehead, nodded, and set a condition, "Fine, but when you buy the beef, you have to help me chop it."

"Okay," James got up, "I’ll go change my clothes, send me a list of all the ingredients you need on WhatsApp."

Jane shook her mobile phone and nodded, then quickly typed up all the stuff James had to buy into the chat. There was so much to list that by the time James had left, she was still buried in typing.

After double-checking to make sure nothing was missing, Jane thought for a bit and added a few more items to the list; she had to make a couple of Bright’s favorite dishes too.
