CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 361 - 369: Giving You a Gift
Since she was going just for a week, Jane Sampson’s luggage wasn’t big. She brought a 22-inch suitcase, which felt feather-light when picked up.
"What did the doctor say about your hand?" James Black asked as he was about to take Jane Sampson’s suitcase out the door.
"It’s nothing serious," Jane replied, even stretching out her empty hand and waving it in front of James.
A hint of amusement appeared in James Black’s eyes as he took her still-waving hand into his palm. With one hand he led her, and with the other, he carried her suitcase out the door.
As the car left the residential community, the day outside had already brightened, with street cleaners already at work. Looking down the long street that seemed to have no end, spotlessly clean, it was a sight that lifted one’s spirits.
It wasn’t until then that James Black suddenly spoke up, asking Jane Sampson, who was evidently in a good mood playing games on the passenger seat, "You’re coming back after a week this time?"
"Mm-hmm." Having not gamed with both hands for too long, Jane was thoroughly enjoying herself. She didn’t pause for even half a second as she responded to James and, with a few maneuvers, finished off a Big Boss.
After exiting the game instance, Jane saw that she had a message from a friend and opened it to take a look.
So early, you’re not staying up all night playing instances now that your hand is better, are you? — Mimi Wood Not Forest.
Jane couldn’t help but chuckle at Mimi Wood Not Forest’s message before rapidly replying on her phone screen.
We’re in the same boat! Besides, I’m on my way to the airport, so I got up early. You’re not actually pulling an all-nighter, are you? — Princess Egg-Yolk.
Jane had told a few friends in the game about her hand injury. She hadn’t logged on for several days, and her in-game friends had been messaging her daily, asking where she was and also inquiring why little prince White-Egg-Yolk wasn’t online either.
Everyone was waiting for her and Peter Gingery to team up for game instances, but during that week, Peter hadn’t shown up, and she hadn’t been around much either.
So it’s no wonder that this early in the morning, seeing her online, Mimi Wood Not Forest would be so surprised.
What a coincidence, I’m also about to go to the airport. — Mimi Wood Not Forest.
Jane let out a surprised sound and muttered to herself, unsure if it was true or not. If it was true, then it was an extraordinary coincidence. Jane remembered that the last time she and Mimi Wood Not Forest coincidentally went to the airport together.
However, the two had never met in person, and with the airport being so large, even if they did run into each other, they wouldn’t recognize one another.
"What are you laughing at?" James asked Jane casually.
"Nothing much," Jane answered nonchalantly with a light laugh before finally putting away her phone.
Before she put away her phone, James had glanced at her screen and noticed that she had been on a game, so he guessed that her laughter was about something that happened in the game.
"You mentioned last night that this trip to Springtown is just for one week?" James changed the subject, "Call me when you’re coming back, and I’ll come to pick you up."
At this, he curved the corners of his mouth slightly, "I have something to give you."
His words successfully piqued Jane’s curiosity, and she looked at him with an expression of surprise, "A gift?"
"You could think of it that way," James raised his eyebrows slightly.
Jane, without hesitation, placed her hand on James Black’s forehead for a few seconds, "You don’t have a fever. To suddenly talk about giving me a gift out of the blue... it scares me."
The corner of James’s mouth twitched almost imperceptibly as he countered, "Don’t want it?"
Jane pondered seriously for a moment and really felt like nodding.
