Chapter 353: Chapter 361: The Last Warning

James Black’s words left Julie Sampton stammering for half a day without being able to utter a single sentence.

In the evening, when she was at the cinema, she unintentionally saw Jane Sampson watching a movie with a man, their hands intertwined, looking very intimate.

Thinking of James Black, who rarely came home from the guard team, Julie’s first thought was that Jane must be unable to bear the loneliness. Taking advantage of James’s absence, she must have sought out other men.

Moreover, in Julie’s view, a man who hardly ever comes home to his wife is unlikely to have a good relationship with her. Therefore, it’s possible that the marriage between Jane and James might have already been over in everything but name. Perhaps they hadn’t divorced yet, mostly because of concern for both families and because of James Black’s status as a defender.

So, at the cinema, Julie did not hesitate at all. Even though the people next to her looked down on her with disdain, she still took out her mobile phone and secretly took several photos, following them for a short distance even after the show ended.

Jane thought that with a mask and hat, no one could recognize her, but those who truly knew her could identify her just by her eyes.

Sending that photo to Jane was simply because Julie did not have James’s contact details. The cold treatment she received the last time she visited the guard team made her swear she would never go to such a place.

But keeping these photos in the mobile phone and not sharing them with anyone made Julie feel very aggrieved.

Recently, she hadn’t had a single day of peace, so why should Jane get to enjoy every day?

She had to sneak around on dates with other men, always fearful of being recognized by someone she knew. Why should Jane, doing the same thing, act as if nothing was amiss?

However, when sending the text message, Julie hadn’t considered that the man with Jane at the cinema could be James himself and that James would call her directly after seeing the phone number she had sent to Jane.

She hadn’t expected that James would know about her affairs, so at the cinema, James and Jane must have seen her too, even recognizing David Chip. But Jane intentionally said nothing; she must have been waiting for Julie to embarrass herself!

"Julie Sampton," James listened to the suddenly heavy breathing on the phone, not knowing what Julie was thinking, but he was certain about one thing: Julie was blaming Jane for this incident.

Irrational—that was James Black’s only impression of Julie.

"Three strikes and you’re out. If I find out you’re harassing Jane again, I think, you and the Sampton Family won’t be able to bear the consequences. Do you understand me?" James’s voice was cold, but considering Julie’s intelligence, he added, "There will not be a next time; this is your final warning."

After speaking, James hung up the phone, then glanced at the number on the screen and directly blacklisted Julie’s number in Jane Sampson’s communication list. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

He casually deleted the troublesome text messages as well.

James felt there was no wonder Old Sir Sampton and Granny Sampton favored Jane more—it was simply because Julie’s character was hard to like.

In the first few years after Julie returned to the Sampton Family, she nearly demanded that the entire family revolve around her.

James saw Jane leaving home alone with her luggage several times when he was home on vacation, or just as she was getting out of a taxi alone with her suitcase, walking back to the house by herself.
