CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 340 - 348: Changing Nickname
"Yes, that’s the nickname she’s used for many years without changing it. Didn’t I ask you to guess it last time inside the car?" Ms. Little laughed a little crazily and gently tapped the desktop with her hand, "It’s so fun! Can I interview you for a moment? How do you feel about adding a Mrs. James Carter to your WhatsAPP, without knowing who she actually is?"
"Mr. Carter, I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to offend! I’ll change it right away!"
Jane Sampson’s face turned red with a gulp of suppressed laughter as she pounded her head, so embarrassed she wished she could dig a hole and bury herself in it.
Her fingers rapidly navigated WhatsAPP, opened it, thought for a moment, quickly made the change, and then explained to James Carter, "Mr. Carter, I’m sorry, please don’t be angry, okay~"
When she added him on WhatsAPP, she really hadn’t thought of the issue with her nickname.
If she had remembered, she would have changed it sooner.
When Jane first chose that nickname, she never imagined she would one day add her idol as a WhatsAPP friend in such a miraculous turn of events.
James Carter was initially only a bit astonished; he hadn’t expected Jane to keep apologizing like this.
"It’s fine, just a little...," James Carter thought for a moment to find the words to describe, "surprised and shocked."
Looking at WhatsAPP friends again, James Carter noticed that Jane Sampson’s nickname had already been changed and couldn’t help but ask, "Are you married?"
"Yeah." After she changed her nickname, Jane put her mobile phone on the tabletop, and upon seeing that James really wasn’t angry, she breathed a huge sigh of relief.
Just now, she had genuinely worried that James would pigeonhole her as one of those internet girlfriend fans, but in truth, she truly liked his music, and she liked him as a person, too.
She liked him before; now, and perhaps even more in the future.
In James Carter’s eyes was a look of surprise, although curious, he didn’t probe further.
In their circle, early marriages are rare, just like him, like Ms. Little; none of them are married, and even now they remain single without any thoughts of marriage.
And Jane Sampson, completely unaware, had put away her phone after changing her nickname and spent the rest of the time eating and chatting with the two. This lunch was life-changing for her; she really enjoyed talking with James Carter, always feeling that he had a very subtle but influential aura.
Jane couldn’t quite articulate the feeling, but she enjoyed sitting there with James Carter and Ms. Little, talking about topics common to all of them like old friends over many years.
Jane didn’t touch her phone, so she was oblivious to Peter Gingery’s frantic use of emoticons blowing up her WhatsAPP, and after a lengthy wait with no reply, Peter went straight to call James Black.
And James Black?
After dropping Jane off at the doorway, he didn’t go anywhere; after she entered, he drove into the clubhouse parking lot, got out of the car, and went inside.
He alone asked for the private room next to Jane’s. Since she went in, he ordered his meal and then watched his watch, waiting for time.
One o’clock.
James Black thought he wouldn’t wait even an extra minute.
If she didn’t come out by one o’clock, he’d drive straight home, and she could forget all about watching movies or shopping.
The sound insulation in the clubhouse’s private rooms was excellent. Although only separated by a wall, not even someone with James Black’s excellent hearing could discern any activity from the next room. The waiter offered him a menu, but he had no interest in taking a glance and simply asked the waiter to serve as deemed fit.
