Chapter 321: Chapter 329: You’ve Changed

"Is this guy unhappy again?" Jane Sampson murmured to herself as she handled a dress in the cloakroom. Usually, when James Black ignored her, it was because she had just done something to provoke him.

But what had she done just now?

Jane hung the dress back in the cloakroom and then walked out, heading straight for James Black. She stood in front of him, who was drying his hair, and looked at him with piercing eyes.

James glanced at Jane and continued with what he was doing.

Jane thought he would ask what she was looking at, and she could use that to ask him why he was ignoring her, but to her frustration, the guy just stayed silent.

So annoying!

Jane huffed, deliberately stomping around James before crawling back onto the bed, her face practically broadcasting the unsaid words.

Better coax the baby, or the baby will get angry too.

James didn’t even glance back at Jane until he finished drying his hair. After putting his stuff away, he went to get a cup of water and brought it into the room, going around and placing it on Jane’s bedhead cabinet for her to easily reach when she woke up in the evening.

Knowing Jane was watching him, but James turned his head to look in her direction. Their gazes met, and Jane, feeling guilty like a thief caught red-handed, quickly averted her eyes yet still haughtily huffed.

It was quiet, but she could be heard loud and clear.

James curled the corners of his mouth and lay back down in his spot, pulling up the thin blanket and saying to Jane, "Come here."

"I don’t want to," Jane mumbled in response, but her body honestly inched toward James little by little.

James chuckled, unable to hide his amusement, and once Jane moved close enough, he reached out and pulled her into his arms.

"James Black, I’ve noticed you’ve developed several particularly bad habits recently," Jane rubbed her face against his shoulder like a cat before suddenly looking up at him seriously.

"Tell me," said James, in a rather good mood.

"You ignore people for no reason," Jane accused, "Just like just now! You didn’t respond when you were called."

"Why should I bother with your ridiculous questions?" James scoffed, mockingly throwback question.

Jane almost felt like James’s response was very reasonable. His nonchalant tone, the expression on his face that said he couldn’t care less—she almost got swayed.

"What’s so ridiculous about it? It was just asking which dress looked nice. And another thing, you’ve been randomly holding hands, hugging, kissing—what’s up with that? Can’t you change these bad habits of yours?"

Jane was truly flustered, with her beautiful eyes wide open, baring her small white teeth, looking every bit like she was ready to bite.

"Others?" James expressed his objection to the term Jane used, "I haven’t touched others, I’ve touched my wife, the wife rightfully named on the marriage certificate."

After saying this, James even let out a light laugh, "Legal intimacy, why should I change it?"

Jane was utterly at a loss for words. How had she never noticed before that the usually reticent James Black could be such a formidable debater?

Jane suddenly called out to James very seriously, and only when she confirmed that his gaze was on her, did she slowly say, "You’ve changed."

Listening to those three words, it seemed there was even a bit of an accusatory tone.
