Chapter 234: Chapter 242: Kissing You Until You’re Sober

"Get washed up, we need to head to the airport," James Black reminded Jane Sampson, and then he went into the bath room to wash up first.

He had intended for Jane to wake up and have a few minutes to become alert, but what James didn’t expect was that when he came back out, which was about five minutes later, Jane had burrowed her forehead back into the quilt again.

"Get up," James directly pulled back the quilt and yanked up the woman inside, who was sleeping like an ostrich. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Jane didn’t even open her eyes, sitting there without the slightest intention of waking up.

James was actually amused by Jane’s behavior. He bent over to pick her up and carried her all the way to the bath room, but once there, Jane clung to him like a tree kangaroo, unwilling to let go and get down from his arms.

"James Black, just let me sleep for ten more minutes, just ten minutes," Jane almost cried as she begged James.

She had a headache last night and hadn’t slept well, only feeling a bit more comfortable towards midnight. It had seemed like she had just closed her eyes for a while when James woke her up.

"You can sleep on the airplane," he said.

It was a statement that meant there was no room for negotiation. Looking down at the person in his arms who still refused to move, he was somewhat helpless. He then lowered his head and kissed the corner of Jane’s mouth gently, "Be a good girl, listen to me, go wash up first, and we can rest on the airplane."

James really didn’t know how to coax Jane under these circumstances; if Jane were one of his soldiers, she would already have been thrown downstairs to sober up or splashed in the face with cold water for an instant wake-up.

But Jane wasn’t one of his soldiers, and neither of those methods could be used on her.

So, for the first time, Chief Black felt a headache about how to coax someone to get out of bed.

He finally understood what mood Oliver Black and Old Master Black were in when they complained about not being able to wake up their son who should be going to school every morning.

"Jane Sampson," James looked at the woman still clinging to him, not willing to get down, thought for a moment, and said, "If you don’t get down, I’m going to kiss you, and keep kissing you until you’re fully awake."

The next second, her eyes, which had been tightly shut, suddenly popped open, filled with panic.

Following that, Jane quickly jumped down from his arms, pushed James out of the bath room without a word, and locked the door with a bang.

"If it’s time to get up, just get up, why do you have to scare people so early in the morning?"

Jane’s muttering came through from inside, thinking that the bath room door was soundproof enough that he wouldn’t be able to hear her. In fact, the hotel’s sound insulation was nothing to brag about.

James, standing outside the door, heard every single word, his face dark and sour beyond description.

In order to wake herself up a bit, Jane washed her face with cold water. After freshening up, she felt much more alert, gathered her stuff, put on a mask and hat, and then followed James out of the room.

Jane couldn’t figure out what she had done to upset James so early in the morning. From the moment they left the hotel to checking out at the reception and then to the airport, James was carrying both their luggage and walking two steps ahead of her the whole time. The two of them didn’t exchange a single word from the start till they sat down for breakfast at the airport.

And this silence persisted until they got off the airplane.

Once they were in a taxi, the driver asked where they were going. James reported Harmony Garden directly, but Jane hurriedly corrected him, "To the team area courtyard."

Seeing James turn to look at her, Jane explained, "Grandfather wants us to come back to the Black Residence for a meal at noon."
