Everyone in this room has experienced the feeling of losing Jane Sampson and then regaining her, so, one by one, they treat Jane like a giant panda, showering her with care.
"Eat more, you’ve lost weight."
"Have more meat, it’ll help you put on some weight."
"Drink more soup, it’s nutritious."
All kinds of concern for Jane, and Jane couldn’t bear to refuse any of it, accepting it all.
She ended up eating too much.
After the meal, Jane sat there, missing James Black very much, especially wishing he were next to her to help rub her belly.
"Do you need me to buy you some yogurt or stomach-soothing digestive tablets?" Peter Gingery knew Jane had eaten too much, so he kept staring at her belly.
"Yogurt, please!" Jane’s eyes lit up, showing her teeth in a smile, "Buy a box to put in the refrigerator, I’ll eat it slowly! Today I’m craving the strawberry-flavored one."
"You sure know how to push it." Peter said disdainfully, yet he still grabbed the car key and went out.
After Peter left, Jane asked Rock Bell about the situation with the film crew.
"They thought you were really gone, and previously the director discussed with me about keeping the scenes you’ve already filmed, and finding another actor to replace you for the ones you haven’t shot yet. To commemorate you, the director decided that this show will have one female lead played by two people, and they’re also preparing to find a newcomer who resembles your looks and temperament to replace you."
"The director has really put effort in for me." Jane understood, being able to reach this point, the director truly tried hard.
"But because Mr. Carter hasn’t been able to keep up on this end, the director isn’t in a hurry and is slowly selecting a newcomer to replace you; until now, the director hasn’t found a suitable candidate, probably difficult to find." Rock Bell said, "After going back, I’ll find an excuse to make the director not rush to find a replacement, continue to delay a little more."
"I’ll talk to the director." James Carter took over, "I’ll request a long leave from the director using my unwellness as an excuse, then find another excuse to let the director focus on other matters first."
Rock Bell thought for a moment and nodded, "Alright, I’ll leave it to Mr. Carter then."
Rock Bell and the people from Carter Family stayed at the Black Family until one-thirty before leaving, Nina didn’t want to leave, and eventually Rock Bell dragged her out. After all, to outsiders, it seemed like the Black Family was having a funeral; Nina staying at the Black Family looked odd.
Not long after Rock Bell and the others left, Peter Gingery returned with an excessively large box of yogurt, extravagantly so, entering the door gasping heavily and loudly for breath, pretending to be exhausted, calling Jane to come over and help.
"Not pursuing acting is indeed a loss." Jane poked Peter’s arm, "We should record this for when your brother comes back to show him, then let him decide how much extra meal to give this weakling."
"Damn it, Jane Sampson, you’re a devil!" Peter dropped the act, swiftly carrying the yogurt into the kitchen, opening the box and loading each pack into the refrigerator.
Old Master Black received the phone call when Peter and Jane were playfully bantering in the kitchen. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
By the time Jane came out of the kitchen sucking on yogurt and playfully tussling with Peter, Old Master Black just hung up the call.
Brooke Black had been monitoring Old Master Black’s condition, and upon noticing his complexion, her heart skipped a beat.
"Dad, let me help you back to your room for a nap." Brooke stood up and walked towards Old Master Black.
