CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 202 - 210: Not Because of Her
Their agent was quiet for a few seconds, then suddenly said, "If we have to pinpoint something from the past two days, it would be Jane Sampson. Because of the show, Sophie Young and Max’s fans were badmouthing Jane underneath the show’s official Twitter. Jane’s agent, Rock Bell, specifically called me up to ask Sophie and Max to post a Twitter update to clarify things and ask their fans to stop attacking Jane. But after discussing it with Sophie and the others, we refused. Could it be possible that because of this Jane holds a grudge against Sophie and Max?"
"Who? What fish?" Alexander Forest only felt the name sounded vaguely familiar.
"Jane Sampson, ’Jane’ as in simple, and ’Sampson’ as in ’not too late in life,’ she used to play the piano," Sophie Young hastily clarified in detail.
"Jane Sampson?" Alexander repeated the name several times, finding it more and more familiar each time. Eventually, he directly started searching for Jane Sampson on his computer’s web browser.
The first result that popped up was news of Jane Sampson playing the role of Evelyn Woods in "March Night," followed by her personal encyclopedia entry.
After reading it, Alexander was completely dumbstruck.
"This...this..."
Waving his hand to clear the office, Alexander waited until everyone had left before picking up his phone to call James Black, only to realize that he had been blocked by James. Without hesitation, he switched to the office landline to try again.
Fortunately, even though James had blocked Alexander’s private phone, he hadn’t completely cut off communication. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Hello, James Black, is your wife named Jane Sampson? The pretty lass who plays Evelyn Woods in ’March Night’?" Alexander asked.
Although Alexander and James were childhood friends, Alexander moved out of the team area courtyard after his father left the military to start a business, and he went abroad for high school studies before he could even finish. He hadn’t managed to make it back in time for James’s wedding.
Regarding James Black’s wife, Alexander had heard the name and seen her in childhood, but as they were of different ages, he only saw her once or twice when he was small and never again as he grew up.
But some people, you might not see them, yet they still appear in your life frequently.
They’re called "somebody else’s child."
Alexander’s parents and sister had told him that Jane Sampson was incredibly good at playing the piano, winning awards until her hands were probably sore from receiving them.
"Yes," James replied succinctly to Alexander’s question.
"Whoa!" Alexander groaned, pressing his hand to his forehead. "After all this time, you banned two of my company’s artists because of your wife?"
"It’s not because of her; it’s because of me," James explained deliberately. "It’s because their fans said I was blind."
"What the heck?" Alexander was completely baffled. "I’m curious, wasn’t your wife a piano player? My sister and my mother said she was surely going to be a great pianist. Why did she start acting? And if she wanted to become an actor, why didn’t you let her join my company? We’re family, and I would’ve given her the best resources available. I definitely could’ve made her famous fast and would’ve made sure to protect her for you."
Alexander Forest might not boast in other matters, but in this circle, there wasn’t anyone he supported who didn’t become famous. After all, his company had top-notch resources, and anyone he looked out for was untouchable.
"Your wife as an actor, does Old Master Black know about it? He didn’t blow his top?" Now, just thinking of Old Master Black made Alexander wince; Old Sir was the kind of parent who believed in corporal punishment, stopping only when his child gave in.
