Chapter 1971: Chapter 1979: As Beautiful as a Flower

Those third-rate reporters who didn’t leave after the interview would never have expected Jane Sampson and James Carter to stay overnight at the hotel where the film crew was lodged.

By the time these reporters decide to rush back, they probably won’t be able to get in. The hotel has added a batch of security personnel, all retired from James Black’s previous team, and now only accommodates members of the film crew, not other customers.

This was also James Black’s intention; however, he didn’t face the issue directly himself. It was Old Master Black who stepped in and made the arrangements and communicated the details.

——

The press conference was scheduled for 8:30, and Jane Sampson and James Carter came out of their room at 8:20, taking the hotel’s internal passageway to the grand conference room on the sixth floor.

The two arrived only three minutes in advance, but they weren’t late.

As they entered the venue, Ratty stood at the gate entrance while Grid and James Carter’s assistant followed Jane Sampson and James Carter inside. When Jane Sampson and James Carter joined Rock Bell and the director on stage, they stood just two steps away backstage, keeping the attending reporters separated from Jane Sampson and the other attendees.

Jane Sampson wore a stunning red suit, paired with dark gray high heels no less than 10 centimeters tall. Her hair was pulled back in a sleek ponytail, making her appear sharper and more confident than the usual girl-next-door image.

Standing next to James Carter, her aura was not the least bit inferior to that of James Carter, who was dressed in a pure black suit.

"Monkey King of Sampton, you look stunning today!" a female journalist in the audience shouted excitedly at Jane Sampson on stage.

Just by hearing this nickname, it was clear she was a die-hard fan of Jane Sampson.

"Thanks for the compliment." Jane Sampson grinned at the reporter and joked, "I’ve discovered something amazing today — my fans are all beautiful like flowers."

With one sentence, she had the reporters below bursting into laughter.

This was a roundabout way of complimenting the female journalist who had just praised her looks.

Among the reporters attending, quite a few had been waiting around for several days, so seeing James Carter and Jane Sampson made them immensely happy. Many were thinking that once the press reception concluded, they could finally go back and report to their bosses.

Actually, after the so-called photo affair concerning Jane Sampson and James Carter had been clarified and put to rest, there weren’t many more questions the reporters could dig up. So, when it came time for the journalists to ask questions, most were about the two’s thoughts on the rumors or their feelings about such matters.

Or they asked about their first-time collaboration in acting.

However, naturally, there were still many who were tactless, chasing after Jane Sampson with questions about her private life, such as why her husband’s identity was so mysterious and always kept secret.

Some people, even now, insisted on prying into why James Carter and Jane Sampson have been rumored to have a deep connection ever since their debut, trying to drag their relationship into something unspeakable.

For such questions, Jane Sampson and James Carter answered what they could, and for the questions that annoyed them, they retorted without holding back. After all, most of the reporters present were rational and reasonable, sympathizing with Jane Sampson and James Carter, and they also joined in the retorts.

The press reception wrapped up after just one hour. After taking photos, Rock Bell and the director personally saw off some invited keynote journalists, while Jane Sampson, James Carter, and the others, accompanied by bodyguards and assistants, were led by the waiting hotel manager through the internal passageway directly to basement Level 2 of the underground parking lot.
