Chapter 1922: Chapter 1930: Striving for Perfection

"Amelia likes me, I’m her stepmother, she’s very happy. She likes me even more than her birth mother. When we get to court, if the judge asks Amelia what she thinks, then Amelia will surely be awarded to us," Mandy Forest said. "Amelia’s birth mother is so unreliable and capricious. Amelia is still so young and naïve, if she’s awarded to her, Amelia’s life will be half ruined."

The man didn’t try to persuade her anymore, just murmured in agreement, his eyes flickered, and he chuckled, "No wonder Amelia likes you."

Once Jane Sampson arrived at the film crew today, she went straight to the makeup room. A simple look took approximately one hour to complete, while all the other actors were still busy. Jane Sampson sidled up to the director first.

"What? Something up?" The director managed to spare a moment amidst his hectic schedule to glance at Jane Sampson squatting beside him.

"Nope, just wanted to check in on how my performance was yesterday." Jane Sampson asked cheerfully, "Director, if you think there’s anything not quite right, or if there’s any area that could be improved, feel free to let me know. I’m all in for reshooting any part."

"There isn’t," the director said, visibly pleased. "I reviewed the footage from yesterday and there’s nothing that needs to be reshot. I know you’re dedicated, but I didn’t realize just how committed you are—reshoots are what most people dread."

"Striving for perfection, you know~" Jane Sampson responded humbly to the praise, "What about the outdoor scenes yesterday at school? Don’t need to reshoot those?"

Secretly, Jane Sampson hoped the director would be a bit harsher, or suggest there was something she didn’t quite nail yesterday, so she could persuade him to go back to the school to reshoot.

Maybe she’d even get a distant glimpse of James Black.

"No need, no need. You’re free to sit by next to rest for a bit. You’ll be up soon, and you haven’t taken any rest this morning." The director waved his hand to urge Jane Sampson to sit and relax before calling others over, giving out instructions for work-related tasks.

Jane Sampson secretly sighed in her heart as she slowly moved back to her resting spot.

As she went over, she saw Coco Edwards talking to a boy wearing a security guard uniform.

The boy looked very young, fair and clean, not very tall, like a boy from the southland.

Jane Sampson had been here for two months, and this security guard looked unfamiliar, probably a newcomer.

"What’s up?" Jane Sampson asked casually as she walked in. "Lad, are you new here?" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Miss Sampson, I just joined today as a security guard." The lad’s face turned slightly red, unclear if from shyness or excitement.

Coco Edwards glanced at the new guard’s demeanor with comfortable familiarity. Jane Sampson was an artist appealing to everyone across ages and genders, so this was the typical reaction to seeing Jane for the first time.

"Jane, this is a flower sent by your fans." Coco Edwards pointed to a vibrant bouquet of red roses on the table, "The guard said your fans were stopped outside and couldn’t come in, so they left the flower in the security room asking for it to be passed on, then hurriedly left. The security room wasn’t sure how to handle it, so they had this newcomer bring it over to you."

Jane Sampson made a sound of acknowledgment, took the flowers, smelled them, then looked up at the guard and said, "Just leave the flowers here, thanks for taking the trouble to bring them over. Thank you."
