CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 1622 - 1630: Be Lazy for a Bit
"Your ears are working pretty well. You can hear me from so far away outside the door?" Jasmine teased Alexander.
"It’s not that my ears are good; it’s that my brain is still functioning. As soon as I came in, you all looked at me with expressions like you’ve been constipated for several days. Even a fool would know you were definitely talking bad about me just now."
Alexander directly asked Jasmine, "Are you badmouthing me to your friends again? You little lass, sooner or later, someone will deal with you."
"Ha ha, wait until you dare to say that again!" Jasmine shook her head proudly, "I’ve got my cousin backing me up, and above him, there’s daddy and mommy, and higher still, there are grandparents. Even if you borrow braveness, you wouldn’t dare to deal with me."
"..." Alexander had nothing to say because Jasmine was right.
Jasmine was the little princess of the Forest Family.
He was the poor soul of the Forest Family.
As for whether Alexander liked Nina, everyone just guessed in private.
If Alexander hadn’t mentioned it himself, bringing it up in front of him would be quite inappropriate.
If he didn’t, Nina would be awkward.
If he did, and Nina rejected him on the spot, Alexander would be even more embarrassed. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Everyone gathered to have hotpot together. Although there was Alexander, the uninvited tag-along, the fun continued as usual.
By the time they cleared the table, it was already past 2 o’clock. After leaving the hot pot restaurant, Jane took Coco to find Leah Webster.
Leah had been staying with friends in Capital Province for two days. Jane took the opportunity to introduce Coco to Leah, as they needed to connect for some upcoming matters.
The three met at a cafe near where Leah was staying and discussed the home stay issues all afternoon, until almost five o’clock when Bright Sampson arrived to join them.
Bright arrived, and Coco was the first to take a taxi home.
"Let’s find a quieter place for dinner and discuss the home stay issues." Bright playfully flicked the brim of Jane’s hood, earning a glare from Jane. He chuckled, retracting his hand, "Sis, the way you dress going out makes you look like you’re about to rob a bank."
"Ugly ones are robbing a bank. Good-looking ones are concealing their dazzling beauty." Leah chimed in softly.
After talking with Jane all afternoon, Leah was sure that Jane didn’t carry any star-like airs, nor did she have the lofty demeanor of the wealthy.
So Leah felt more confident, speaking and acting more freely.
"I agree." Jane adjusted her hood, nudged Bright, and tossed her car key to him, "You drive, I’m relaxing for a bit."
"So lazy you’re dead?" Bright took the key and teased Jane, then led the way to where Jane had parked.
As soon as the three got in the car, Bright was buckling his seatbelt when his mobile phone suddenly rang.
"Who could it be at this time?" Bright muttered, glanced at the phone, and turned to Jane, "It’s our grandparents’ landline, probably grandma wanting to ask about the progress of the home stay."
Bright finished speaking and answered the phone. At this moment, Bright was still feeling light-hearted and happy, but after taking the call, Bright’s hand began to tremble gradually.
