Lucy was called back urgently to work overtime.
Jane Sampson originally planned to start work after the New Year, but because of this filming job, Lucy returned to work earlier.
Entering the office, Rock Bell was discussing Jane’s recent schedule with Lucy. When she saw Jane come in, Rock Bell raised her head and gestured for Jane to come over.
"Perfect timing, we were just discussing your schedule." Rock Bell handed the itinerary to Jane. "Take a look, so you have an idea."
As she spoke, Rock Bell paused and carefully observed Jane’s expression. Seeing that her spirits seemed fairly stable, she was mildly relieved. When she first heard the news of Old Sir Sampton’s passing, Rock Bell had been somewhat worried about Jane, fearing she might not be able to shake off the grief quickly.
Rock Bell knew how important Old Sir Sampton and Granny Sampton were to Jane.
"There are two tasks newly added for today that you need to take special note of," Rock Bell pointed at the itinerary for the end of March and said, "You’ll need to go to Country F to attend D’s spring and summer new product launch event. I’ve sent the detailed content to your email. Try to make this trip worthwhile—at the very least, aim to secure an endorsement for one of D’s product lines."
"But there’s no need to feel pressured. D has a positive overall impression of you, and someone at their headquarters is a high-level contact of mine. As long as you complete the runway appearance without any issues, you’re unlikely to miss out on the endorsement." Rock Bell had a fair amount of confidence in Jane. "After returning from abroad, you’ll have two days of rest."
"Alright." Jane nodded repeatedly. "I’ll make sure to manage my weight properly."
Rock Bell looked Jane up and down carefully. While others had gained several pounds over the Chinese New Year, Jane had lost weight.
"Just stick to the current state—you don’t need to slim down further, or your Father Black won’t be happy." Rock Bell playfully pinched Jane’s waist. "You celebrated the New Year so thoroughly that all the extra weight on your body has disappeared without a trace. Your Father Black must be heartbroken, huh?"
After teasing Jane, Rock Bell didn’t continue poking fun at her and went on, "There’s also this variety show, ’Day by Day: Let’s Talk.’ Its new episode will be recorded in half a month. The topic for the new episode is the ’Secret Skincare Regimens of Stars.’ You mentioned some of your skincare products during a previous live stream, which caught the attention of the program crew. Since the episode’s content aligns with skincare, they thought of you."
’Day by Day: Let’s Talk’ is a variety show with decent online buzz, targeting a young audience. Recording time is quite short, requiring only half a day. Considering these factors, Rock Bell decided to accept this opportunity for Jane.
"If you agree, later on, get in touch with their person in charge to formally sign the contract." Rock Bell added, "In a few days, the Country F head of D will also bring the contract over. When that time comes, free up one dinner and invite them to a meal as hosts just to show courtesy."
"Alright, I’ll just follow Sister Tin’s arrangements." Jane nodded obediently like a little darling, swiftly reviewing the upcoming itinerary. Apart from the originally scheduled ones, Rock Bell hadn’t added any other tasks, which reassured her.
She hoped to have more time to accompany her grandma.
After finishing discussions on the schedule, Rock Bell personally drove Jane and Lucy away from the studio and headed to the Drug Prohibition Office to meet with the relevant personnel.
As fate would have it, upon arrival and just stepping through the door, Jane immediately saw old acquaintances—Kane Forest and Quincy Forest, the siblings, were both present.
