CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 1465 - 1473: Ambitious Home
Jane Sampson finished reading and couldn’t help but doubt whether she could still recognize words.
Are you freaking kidding me? Known each other for only a few days and already talking about marriage? Didn’t even bother with an engagement first? — Princess Egg-Yolk.
She’s impulsive, and she actually found a man who’s just as impulsive as she is? — Princess Egg-Yolk.
The key is, would her dad and mom even agree to this? Flash marriages don’t work like this! — Princess Egg-Yolk.
Oscar Wilson took one look and immediately sent a video voice message over.
Jane Sampson glanced at James Black across from her while holding her mobile phone, "I’m heading upstairs to take a video call."
Without another word, Jane Sampson dashed upstairs, slammed the door shut, and quickly answered the call.
"Why would I kid you? You still don’t believe me? Let me tell you, it’s for real. My dad has already received the news; it’s not fake." Oscar Wilson rolled his eyes dramatically at the camera. "But honestly, when I first found out, I had the same reaction as you—scared half to death!"
Seeing Jane Sampson’s silly, clueless expression, Oscar Wilson burst into laughter. "Are you totally freaked out by this news? Let me tell you, if it weren’t for the fact that her future husband is some kind of defender and marriage requires a marriage report, they’d probably have gone straight to the marriage certificate already!"
"Uh..." So there actually was someone who could be even more impulsive about marriage than her.
In the past, when Jane and James Black got married, it had already felt pretty impulsive. Just because she had been tied to a marriage contract from a young age and thought James Black was good-looking, plus marriage would allow her to leave the Sampson Family, Jane hadn’t had any objections to marrying James Black. She had even been quite happy during the process.
But to be honest, her marriage had never been simple. It wasn’t for love, nor for any feelings or sense of responsibility. It was purely her way of escaping from the Sampson Family, her only path to freedom.
However, when she married James Black, at least he was someone she had known everything about, someone she’d grown up with. And every senior in the Black Family had been kind to her, loved her, and had watched her grow up. That’s why Jane could still be cheerful when marrying James Black—because she didn’t have to worry about being unhappy or unwelcome in the Black Family.
But Jillian Carter—she’s marrying someone she’s only known for a few days.
"My parents were discussing the situation and analyzed it a bit. I overheard parts of it. Apparently, James Carter didn’t take her away, which made Jillian Carter impatient. Jillian Carter wanted to get married so quickly because she’s desperate to leave the village. And that groom..."
Oscar Wilson paused, then mimicked Chief Wilson’s tone and said, "That man is a schemer."
"Huh?" Jane Sampson froze for a second, then almost immediately understood what the "schemer" remark meant.
"Exactly. That’s how my dad described the man. But my dad did add some compliments about him. He said that marrying Jillian Carter might ruin his grand ambition someday." Oscar Wilson shrugged. "Basically, to put it simply, Jillian Carter is marrying to gain freedom, while he’s marrying her for the Carter Family’s power. Both sides have their own agendas, but they’ve found common ground."
"Wow, marriage can be played like this too, huh." Jane Sampson shook her head, then chuckled. "Whatever, whether she marries or not is her own business."
Jane Sampson even silently wished Jillian Carter and her husband eternal happiness, lifelong harmony, and perhaps even a child sooner rather than later.
