CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 103 - 111: Learn a Little
It can be said that the sound of the phone call suddenly disconnecting with a "beep, beep, beep" left James Black with indescribable, odd feelings. He tossed the mobile phone back to Peter Gingery and relit a cigarette to smoke.
From time to time, people passed by outside the window. Standing in a small bungalow with only one floor, one could simply lean towards the window and take in all sorts of people walking along the roadside.
There were old women who had strolled around the nearby small square and were returning, as well as little children who had just come back from playing at a classmate’s home. And of course, there were also the little lovebirds tightly holding each other’s hands, smiling radiantly as they walked not far from James Black’s line of sight.
James snapped a photo of the lovebirds on his phone, catching Peter Gingery’s attention.
"Brother, is there a situation?" Peter Gingery immediately shed his carefree attitude and asked in a hushed voice.
"No." During a mission, Peter’s jumping at shadows didn’t strike James Black as odd; in fact, his heightened vigilance was a good thing.
However, James contemplated the photo he just took on his phone, and after Peter Gingery stood watching him for a few seconds, he couldn’t help but get closer to take a look. That’s when James asked, "Is this how normal husband and wife interact?"
James pointed to the male and female in the photo and asked Peter, "When I see this male holding the female’s hand, it seems she really likes it."
"Brother, are those husband and wife? It’s clear at a glance that they’re an unmarried couple in the heat of love, okay?" Peter Gingery rolled his eyes silently, "Look at the girl in the photo, the way she looks at her boyfriend—so tender she could blossom a flower. Of course, she’s happy being led by the hand."
"Is there a difference between a husband and wife and little lovebirds?" scoffed James, "Aren’t they all just a pair?"
Peter sensed a hint of something. Clearly, James was comparing his relationship with Jane Sampson to those ordinary lovebirds.
That was truly humorous. Could they even be compared?
If Peter were to comment, he would say Jane Sampson and James Black were the most extraordinary couple in the world.
James’s gaze lingered on the girl in the photo for a few more seconds, as the image of Jane, who always seemed slightly disdainful, surfaced in his mind.
He seldom took the initiative to hold Jane’s hand, especially in public areas.
But the last time at the shopping mall when he held her hand, she did not smile as happily as the girl in the photo.
James directly transferred the photo to Peter through WhatsAPP and said, "Send this to Jane and tell her to learn something from it."
After leaving these words, James put away his phone and turned to enter the damp and cold room.
Peter stood there dumbfounded, his lips moving as he muttered to himself, why should he be the one to relay this?
Why wouldn’t Grand Chief Black do this sort of thing that was sure to offend Jane himself?
Besides, how was Jane supposed to learn from this? Learn what? To smile as radiantly as that girl when led by the hand by Chief Black?
That would also require Chief Black to first please his girlfriend as the boyfriend in the photo did.
Of course, all these silent complaints Peter Gingery didn’t dare say out loud, considering it was just him and James, and he was afraid of getting beaten.
So naturally, he didn’t dare to disobey by not doing anything; after enough muttering to himself, Peter saved the photo and sent it to Jane Sampson through WhatsAPP.
Photo.
Grand Chief Black commands, "Learn something from this." — Little Protein Prince.
