Chapter 91: Just the Beginning

It’s Monday and everyone is back to reality. Amy had set her alarm for five in the morning, however, their activity last night made her sleep a little more than she should.

Amy felt her body ache the moment she opened her eyes. Memories of their last night’s sexercise came into mind and her face instantly blush. She can’t believe that Henry didn’t stop on the sofa but instead went for 2 more rounds.

’I don’t think he’s human at all,’ Amy said to herself.

Henry is no longer beside her when she woke up and can only guess that he is already downstairs or perhaps at work already since it is already eight in the morning. She too needs to prepare herself for today’s design plan presentation of Anton and Mary for Bellory Cafe’s expansion.

She slowly walk toward the bathroom one step at a time as she feels every muscle in her body ache.

’Damn, I should never do that again.’

She wasted no time and after dressing up she directly went downstairs for breakfast when she caught Ava coming up the stairs. Ava gave her a teasing smile upon seeing her struggling as she walks down the stairs.

"Looks like someone had fun last night," Ava’s grin made her blush more. She immediately stood up straight and smiled back but the more she tries to act normal the more she felt how sore her whole body was.

"Is Henry still here?" Amy asked trying to change the topic.

"The culprit went to work with Rei an hour ago. He said to inform you that the meeting was moved to after lunch and that you should rest more," Ava giggled, she couldn’t help it knowing why Amy should rest more after seeing how is she having a hard time going down the stairs.

"Alright thanks, but I don’t need more rest. Let’s go to my publisher first before we go to that meeting," Amy uttered as she walks down slowly.

"Are you sure about that? You don’t look good," Ava said.

Amy frowned and started to get a little irritated with Ava’s teasing when she can see that she can still walk. "I am capable of walking normally, Ava, thanks for your concern."

"I am not sure about that, my eyes are not blind," Ava teased. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

"And how do I look in your eyes, Ava?" Amy raised her eyebrow at Ava as she is losing patience with Ava’s teasing while her body is aching everywhere.

"Pretty spent and f*cked haha!" Ava cannot stop herself anymore and laugh at how irritated Amy looks. She got pretty close to her in the short amount of time that they spent together and it is not every day that Amy gets annoyed like that.

Amy couldn’t help but laugh a little at the way Ava is laughing heartily. She looks happy which is not usual so Amy wondered if what happened over the weekend that Ava seems to be in a delighted mood.

Amy had completed her manuscript and her editor is nothing but happy with her progress. She knew that Amy just needs a little push and she will be selling a lot of copies in no time.

"I can say that your writing has improved a lot, Amy. Did you find an inspiration perhaps?" Amy’s editor asked as she skim through her draft.

Amy’s face turned red at the thought of who her inspiration is and that’s none other than Henry, the love of her life, "I suppose so. How long will it take to have that published?"

"One to three months if everything goes well. We still need to do some edits and then work with the cover and some legal stuff. Why? Are you planning on writing another book soon?"

Amy looked down at her fidgeting hands and breathe deeply. She had been thinking about her writing career for the past few days and she knows that she has to make a decision soon.

"That’s actually what I wanted to talk about with you today. I wanted to tell you that this is my last book with you. I have so many things on my plate right now that I need to prioritize," Amy kept her gaze on her lap as she said this with a sad tone.

She wanted to become a writer since she was young but her life is taking a different turn and inheriting the farm and coffee shop is a big responsibility that she cannot just let go of.

Her editor sighed but still gave her an understanding smile, "Well that’s unfortunate seeing how you had improved but writing is something that you can continue anytime. So whenever you feel like publishing a book again, just let us know."

"Thank you. But that’s not the only reason why I am here," Amy then took a document from her file case and showed it to her editor.

"Since you are also one of the board members of the company, I wanted to show you that. What do you think?" Amy added.

She was so nervous as her editor read each page of her proposal that she started nipping the insides of her lips.

But her nervousness soon dissipated when she saw the smile and excitement on her editor’s face.

"This is genius, Amy! I bet the board will like it. How come no one in the company has thought of this before? So I bet you will still be part of us in a way."

Amy felt relieved that her idea did not go to waste and that she can also share with others, one of her childhood dreams.

"How did you come up with this?" Her editor added.

"When I was young I used to like reading books in our shop, then when I saw the trucks outside with piles and piles of books that will be transported to the shredding site, I thought of this. It is sad to see all of those good books get recycled when they are still in very good condition."

"I will definitely approve of this and so will the members of the board, you can count on that. So I suggest, start finalizing the plan right away."

Amy left her editor’s office with a wide smile on her face. Even though she will stop writing, her relationship with the first company that she worked with will not end there.

"You look happy, I didn’t know saying goodbye to one of your dreams is a happy occasion," Ava said as she open the car door for Amy.

"It’s not a goodbye, Ava. It is just the beginning," Amy exclaimed before going in the car.
