CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 270: Announcement
Everyone stayed up late dancing and drinking last night, so for everyone’s safety, Henry decided to invite everyone to stay in the mansion instead, which everyone accepted.
The ladies were excited last night to wake up early the next day for it’s been a while since they had been together under one roof for breakfast. They even helped in the kitchen by cooking and preparing the ingredients for their sumptuous morning meal.
Well, they don’t really have a choice either since the guys made the chef drunk last night, saying that he is always busy cooking and that he should relax by drinking with them. And because of that the maids and Amy’s family and friends are the ones in charge of the kitchen today.
Amy and Mitch made strawberry waffles since there was still a lot of strawberry from yesterday. Mary and Sandra were in charge of making the coffee Bellory style while Ava and Maya cook the eggs and sausages.
After everything was done, Demi and the maids helped them bring everything to the dining table where they were surprised to see the men slicing ripe mangoes and watermelons for everyone.
"Where did you get those?" Mary asked Anton.
"The gardeners brought it a while ago and we don’t want to burden you women more with the breakfast preparation so we told them to leave them here so we can slice it," Anton explained as he continue to slice the mangoes.
"Aww, that’s too sweet. But you guys are slicing a lot, we are eating breakfast not our last supper," Mary said making everyone chuckle.
"That is fine madam, we can use it later to make some dessert or juice. We will send some for you once it’s done," Charles said who was also helping the guys.
As everyone settled on their seats, some started filling their plates with the food made by them. And Henry thought that it was the best time to make an announcement about what they found out last Saturday.
"Josephine is dead," Henry announced.
Everyone’s jaw dropped as they stare at Henry who stared back at them with a blank face. He looks as if he did not say something serious at all. Amy coughed, after inhaling the water that she was drinking.
Mary dropped the fork and knife that she was holding. Sandra got frozen while pouring water on her glass, making it spill all over the table. Maya covered her mouth with both hands.
Mitch frowned and Ava look back and forth between Henry and Rei. Everyone was stunned, shocked, and astounded at the news that Henry brought.
"W-What did you just say? Did I hear it right? You said Josephine died? She is dead? How? Why? When?" Amy asked questions one after the other after recovering from almost choking.
"Way to go with your announcement Henry, congratulations, you just shocked everyone. Some things have never changed." Theo said with a hint of humor, but Maya squinted her eyes silently telling Theo that his joke is not funny.
Rei cleared his throat after seeing Henry getting bombarded with questions from the unhappy ladies Amy, Mary, and Sandra. "The police told us Saturday morning, but they said she died Friday night. It was almost midnight so they decided to inform us the next day," Rei said.
"How did she die?" Amy asked in a confused voice.
"She uhm... ah..." Rei hesitated to tell it to everyone for he know it might bring back painful memories to Henry since he has not divulged to him that part of the story yet.
"It’s ok, Rei. I’ll take it from here. I already talked to my Uncle yesterday," Henry said and Rei nodded.
"Josephine hanged herself, they haven’t transferred her to the women’s facility yet, so Uncle Trev thinks there’s a foul play there," Henry said.
"But, what if she really wanted to die? I mean she has no family left, it’s just her, and now that she’s in jail maybe she just wanted everything to end already," Maya commented.
"The police found her hanging in her cell using the sheets and there was a note attached to her shirt saying, ’Another life ruined like your mom’s’. My mom’s case was not known to many and was not released to the public.
Even the police are saying that it would be hard for a woman to tie that sheet on the metal pipes so they had started the investigation already as soon as they found her body," Henry explained.
"Oh, my God! So you mean to say that there’s really someone else backing her revenge?" Mary exclaimed.
Rei nodded before saying, "That was what I have been suspecting ever since the plane crash. But now that note gave us a clearer view of the situation. The culprit is someone close to the Welsh Family. That information is not that easy to find. That was a mistake on the culprit’s part, it just made our search much easier," Rei confidently explained.
"What are we going to do now?" Amy worriedly asked.
Henry reached out for Amy’s hand and squeezed it firmly, to assure her. "Don’t worry, love, Rei and Ava will make sure we are all safe. Everyone present here will be given their own security detail. That’s including you Theo," Henry said before drinking his coffee.
"Me? What does it have to do with me?" Theo rebutted, obviously not agreeing with Henry’s statement.
"You are our biggest and most important business partner Theo. You handle all of Welsh and Bellory’s construction projects and add the fact that you are very close to us. We would be surprised if that person targets you too. You, gone will be a big loss for us," Henry said.
Theo raised his two hands showing surrender, "Fine your flattering words are convincing, I’ll accept it then. But can I have females on my team too? Pretty ladies like Mitch and Ava?" Theo jested.
But not everyone is pleased with his joke, a foot stomped on his foot making him yelp. Everyone laughed Maya rolled her eyes, triggering questions from everyone who saw it. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Only Mary was brave enough to ask the question, "Maya are you and Theo dating?"
