Chapter 192: All Day and All Night

Her eyelashes that were nestled together loosen their delicate embrace when the boundaries between dream and reality begin to blur. Her back and abdominal pain are now gone but it didn’t lessen the pain that she feels in her heart.

She look left and right to see where she at. She lifted her right arm and saw an I.V. hooked up to her vein. She then checked her left hand and saw it resting on Henry’s cheek while he holds it. He was sitting on a chair beside her bed with his head resting under her hand.

She touches his face and her eyes started to feel hot. Warm tears flowed from her eyes slowly to her cheeks. She quickly wiped it with her right hand, not wanting Henry to see her crying.

She looked around and saw a lot of lights are off and there was no glint of sunshine coming from the windows that are covered with blinds. Amy could only guess that it was still nighttime.

As soon as her face is dry, she tried to sit and look for something to drink. Henry felt her move and that woke him up.

"You are finally awake, wa-wait! Don’t move!" Henry quickly pressed the nurse call button, before focusing back on Amy.

"How are you, love? How do you feel? Do you still feel any pain? Are you hungry? What do you want to eat? Or perhaps you are thirsty, wait, let me get you something," Henry’s questions came pouring in, one after the other.

As soon as he saw that Amy is awake, a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions came rushing within him. He was glad to see her awake but the news that he had to tell her is really daunting.

Before he can walk away, Amy pulled his hands. He stopped and stood there frozen. His heart aches so much that he doesn’t have the courage to turn around and look at her.

"Henry... Stay here..." Amy weakly uttered.

"But you haven’t eaten anything, you need food to get strong and heal faster," Henry contended, still without looking at her.

"I’m fine... Please don’t leave... You are all I need... Tell me, my love... We lost our baby, right?"

Henry clenched his fist and gritted his teeth, ’F*ck!!! She knows!!!’ Henry cursed and screamed inwardly. He had thought of not telling her the truth if she didn’t know she was pregnant. But he thought wrong, if he can only turn back time, he definitely wouldn’t take things lightly.

He slowly turned around and looked at her. She’s wearing a weak smile, a smile that he thought he would never see again. He stared at her with sorrow in his eyes with a weight that seemed to carry the whole world.

Before he can say anything, the nurses and resident doctors barged in and quickly assess Amy. Henry stepped aside, giving space to the medical professionals.

"How do you feel Mrs. Welsh, do you feel any pain anywhere?" One of the resident doctors said.

"Just a little headache, other than that I think I’m good."

"I see... The headache that you are feeling is normal and it will go away after you had enough rest. It’s only three in the morning Mrs. Welsh. You should go back to sleep."

"B-But I just woke up. I am actually thirsty."

The doctor then instructed one of the nurses to get water for Amy and some food as well.

"Is she alright doc?" Henry asked.

"She will be fine as long as Mrs. Welsh will take her medicines on time then we might be able to discharge her after two days," the resident doctor answered.

After checking her vitals and not finding anything wrong with Amy, the doctors, and nurses went on their way. One of the nurses also gave Amy water, orange juice, and chicken porridge.

"Come here, sit beside me, my love," Amy uttered with sweetness in her voice, as if she was never in pain and danger just a few hours ago.

Henry sat beside her with teary eyes. His heart feels like it will burst at any moment.

"I’m sorry, Henry... I’m not a good wife and mother," Amy mewled, and a single drop of tear fell from her eye.

Henry quickly shifted from his seat and faced her. He held onto both of her shoulders forcing her to look at him in the eyes.

"You are not, love. It is not your fault. If there is someone to blame here, that would be me. I should have checked the jet myself before leaving," Henry stammered, his tears threatening to fall as well.

Amy briskly hugged him, for she can no longer hold it. She wanted his body for warmth, his arms for comfort, and his presence for security. She wailed when she felt Henry embrace her tighter as if he doesn’t want to ever let her go again.

The tears that Henry was trying to blink away finally came rolling from his eyes. Crying in each other’s arms somehow lessens the heaviness in their hearts. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

When they were able to release the pent-up overwhelming negative emotions that they had after crying for so long, Henry finally had the courage to ask the question that he has been thinking ever since he saw Amy bleeding.

"Did you already know before you started bleeding?"

"No, I didn’t. I thought it was just either the flu or my incoming monthly period. I didn’t suspect I was pregnant until the bleeding was too much. I instantly knew that I was gonna lose her."

Henry’s brows creased with deep lines and his eyes darted from one point to another, trying to make sense of what she just said.

"Her?" Henry asked in confusion.

Amy nodded before explaining further, "I am not sure if it was real Henry. But I had a dream, I was on an island and there was a girl. At first, I thought she was lost. But she seems to know me."

Henry was listening intently at Amy without a glint of doubt in his eyes.

"She has your eyes and my hair. She’s cute and chubby," Amy was smiling while she was telling about her encounter with the little girl.

Henry felt relieved that Amy was somehow not that devastated and depressed by what happened. He was worried that she will fall into depression and will not want to have another baby.

Amy continued, "She called me mommy, she hugged and kissed me too."

’Her smile looks genuine,’ Henry thought inwardly.

"Should we give her a name then?" Henry asked trying to keep the conversation going to distract Amy.

"Jasmine... Her name is Jasmine," Amy smirked as she bowed her head for her eyes are welling up again. Not because of grief, but because she believes that it was not a dream. The Heavens above gave her an opportunity to meet her unborn daughter and properly say goodbye.

Henry saw her eyes watering again, "I thought rose is your favorite flower, so why did you name our daughter Jasmine? Did you change your favorite flower already?" Henry jested trying to make her forget the tears that are about to flow.

Amy chuckled, she can’t believe that Henry would still be able to make her laugh at times like this. She is just so lucky to have a man like him by her side, she thought.

"I didn’t choose it, my love. She gave me a Jasmine in my dream and that was my mom’s favorite flower. She said she knows where she is going, so I figured that maybe she will be going to where my mom is. My mom will take care of her."

"That’s a beautiful name for a cute and chubby little girl, love. You made the right choice," Henry uttered before kissing Amy on the forehead.

"Come on, eat your porridge first so you can regain your strength, plus it will get cold," Henry stood up to get Amy’s food and drinks.

Amy watched him arrange the food and drinks on the overbed table before blowing out the porridge that he scooped for her. Amy just let him take care of her knowing that it will make Henry feel less guilty about the plane crash and her miscarriage.

’It would be nice to raise children with you, my love," Amy thought.

Once done, Henry lay beside her on the bed and used his arm to be her pillow as she wrap her arms around him.

"Henry..."

"Mmm?"

"Let’s try again."

Henry lifted his head back and looked at Amy, "Try what?"

"Let’s try again for a baby. I want a baby that looks like you," Amy hugged Henry tighter as she buried her face in his chest. She was blushing and felt a bit shy telling that to Henry, but she believes that saying that to him might lessen the grief and sadness that both of them were feeling right now.

And she is not wrong, her words made Henry smile and his heart jumped with joy, "Do you want to do it now? I’ll be more than happy to comply with your demands, love."

Amy chuckled, "Not now, silly. I’m just saying that I also want what you want. I want to let you know that we are on the same page. I know how badly you want to have kids, and I want that too. You get what I mean?"

"Of course, love. Once you get better, my body is all yours. All day and all night."
