CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 172: An Official Relationship (1)

Back in Bellory Farm, Anton stared at Mary, stupefied if he had heard her right.

Mary had offered Anton to stay for the night since his house is quite far and it is already late. Mary only offered it, thinking of his safety but of course, Anton’s mind had thought of other things. Things that they might do in the middle of the night if he stays there.

Mary saw how confounded Anton was with her question and at first, she wondered why but she is not that naive to not understand.

"Oh, no, no, no. You are not thinking about adult things aren’t you?" Mary asked it as a joke but she really meant it.

Anton’s face turned red, so red that even if it was dark inside the car Mary saw it. His eyes widened in embarrassment and not only that he stuttered but also struggled to find his words.

"I-I... T-That was n-not–"

"Relax, you are so tense. Anton, I’m just kidding. I am just worried about you, it’s late and you are tired, you have entertained me the whole day. What if you fall asleep while driving? Or something suddenly crosses the road and you didn’t see it?" Mary sighed after noticing that Anton is still slightly frowning and was clearly at the crossroads.

Before Mary and Anton can speak to each other again, they jolted at the sound of a knock at Anton’s side of the door.

"What are you two doing here? Aren’t you going to join the rest?" Mary’s father Troy said. He lifted the plastic bags that he was holding, showing it to them. Mary’s jaw dropped after realizing what are in it after she heard the sound of glasses hitting each other.

She looked back at her father and it was just now that she noted how red her father’s face and neck were. "Dad, don’t tell me you are drinking!"

"Hic! He he he, just a little... So are you coming or not? You better move your asses or we will think that you are doing something naughty inside that car!" Mary’s father didn’t wait for them to step out of the car as he walk away from them.

Mary’s gaze followed his drunken father as she watched him sway while he walks.

"Who is he talking about?" Anton asked while also watching Mary’s father walk who almost hit the fence.

"I have no idea too," Mary then faces him, "Do you want to check it out?"

Anton nodded, he is curious too about who are the others that Mary’s father is talking bout.

It was not hard to know where everybody is gathering for they can hear people laughing as soon as they walk towards Mary’s house.

"Sh-Anton! Mah man! We thought you’resh not going to bringsh Mary back home. We’ve been waiting here-sh forever," Rei said in a slurred voice with eyes half open while craning his neck.

Mary bit her lips, trying to contain her laughter. Rei is not the only one drinking with his father on their patio but also Theo, Sandra, and Maya; and all of them are surely drunk.

"I was not informed that we are supposed to have a party tonight. If you said so, we would have arrived on time," Anton beamed, still amused at how wasted everyone is.

"We didn’t want to disturb you and Mary. Her parents said you two went on a date, so we just decided to wait for you to come back." This time it was Theo who spoke and unlike Rei, he can still talk normally even though he is chuckling for no reason at all.

"Sorry Mary, you’re father invited us to drink when he saw us leaving. We were supposed to go to a bar to drink but since Uncle Troy offered, we thought it was a good idea to drink here instead. Come join us," Sandra tapped Rei who was beside her to move to his side so Mary and Anton can sit.

Helen, Mary’s mom arrived carrying a tray of different kinds of food that smelled so good. Mary and Anton stood up again to help her.

"Anton, dear, you should stay too. Those two will stay in Amy’s house, you can join them there," Helen said. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Anton can no longer refuse since he has no reason to. Mary’s heart rejoiced, she wants more time with Anton to know him better, besides the fact that she wants him safe.

It didn’t take long before the others decided to call it a night since Mary’s father already passed out and the others do not want to follow in his footsteps.

"Mary, before I forget, can we go back to my car? I just need to get something," Anton asked after they accompanied Rei and Theo to their assigned rooms.

The two then walk back to Anton’s car and they talk about how funny everyone was acting and talking when drunk. They were lucky they arrived late and were able to watch his father and their friends get wasted to the point of embarrassing themselves.

"Stay here, I will just get it," Anton instructed when they finally arrived in the parking lot.

Mary watched him get something from the trunk of his before handing it to her.

"What is this?" she asked in confusion.

"A gift," he tersely said.

"But you already gave me one. The expensive painting, remember?"

"I would be very happy if you will accept it. Go ahead and unwrap it."

Mary did not prolong it anymore and unwrapped Anton’s gift. She was surprised upon seeing it and looked back and forth at Anton and his gift.

"H-How did you know that I want this one?" Mary asked in bafflement.

"I saw you looked at it multiple times earlier and when you said you like it, I bought it."

"B-But this is too much. I know how much this cost, I asked the curator earlier. I cannot accept this, maybe we can return it and get your money back," Mary does like that painting a lot but she is worried that Anton is spending too much money just for her and they are not even in an official relationship yet.

Right! What are they? They said they like each other but things between them are still often awkward. Plus, they really haven’t talked about what are they really to each other. Are they friends, more than friends, or a couple?
