CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 119: Private Room

During the group’s weekend getaway, Sandra volunteered to handle Henry’s surprise party with Maya’s help since Amy and Mary are already busy with Bellory and the hiring of staff. Sandra tasked Anton and Rei with the list of people that will be invited to the party.

Henry’s Birthday will fall on a Saturday but according to Amy, Henry already told him that he has plans for the two of them over the weekend. So Sandra scheduled the surprise party for Friday night.

Henry and Amy went to work together early in the morning just because Henry said he wanted to have breakfast in the cafe on the ground floor of his building. At the same time, Henry also wanted people to see him together with Amy.

When Tony stopped the car in front of the main entrance of Welsh Holdings’ building, Henry offered his hand when Amy was about to get down. When she was finally out of the car, Henry did not let go of her hand and instead he intertwined their fingers together.

Amy tried to take back her hand upon seeing people looking at them. But even if she tugged her hand back forcefully, he did not let go. Amy accepted defeat for she knows that he will not give in.

When they arrived at the cafe, the waiter gave them the best seat knowing who Henry is.

"What do you think of this place?" Henry asked as he take a sip of his coffee.

Amy looked around as if she wasn’t doing it earlier. As soon as they arrive there, all she ever did was check the interior of the place. She also checked their menu and watch how the servers interacted with the customers.

"I like it, it’s cozy but looks notable and eminent," she praised. She could say more seeing how well-established the place is. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

"This is yours in three months’ time," he said casually making Amy stare at him with a confused look.

Henry saw it and he explained further, "Not the cafe, but the place. You can have your branch here."

Amy waved her hand back and forth, refusing his offer, "You don’t have to. I don’t want the owner of this cafe to lose his business. This is a great spot and if you kick the cafe out, they might not have the same amount of income after."

"Oh don’t worry about it. I offered a better location for them. Good thing the owner was also thinking of moving to a bigger place since his business is doing good and this place is getting smaller for his cafe."

"If that’s the case, then I’ll accept. Thank you... But promise me that the lease amount is the same as the old tenants’. You will not give us any discounts okay?"

Henry smirked and nodded.

"Henry I wanted to talk to you about my office," Amy held her coffee with both hands and looked at it. She was actually nervous about talking with Henry about it. She thinks that Henry would not agree.

Henry saw the nervousness on her face and got worried a little bit about what she was going to say, "I’m listening."

"I-I wanted to move out," she then looked at Henry to check his reaction.

To her surprise, he just stared back at her and stayed silent.

So she continued, "I-I need a bigger space so my employees can have their own desks too. And I want to be close to them so I can monitor what’s happening to my business and be hands-on as well. Please don’t think that I don’t want to be near you."

"I know," Henry tersely said which made Amy confounded. Henry is a possessive person so she was shocked that he did not protest or get mad.

"It’s ok with you?"

"Yes, don’t you think I have not thought of that? Your company’s office is currently being renovated."

"What? Renovated? Where?" Amy does not know what will she feel. She is thankful that she and Mary do not need to look elsewhere anymore. But she was nervous at the same time because things are not simple when it involves Henry.

He definitely has something under his sleeves that’s why he prepared it beforehand.

"In this building," Amy’s jaw dropped at his answer, but that’s not all. "I also made sure you’ll have your private room, you know, in case you get tired, or I decided to visit you."

Amy’s jaw stayed open, just how far will the audacity of this man reach? She thought.

"The place is small, so your office and room will be small too. That’s the best that I can do for now since all the tenants in this building still have a lot of years in their contracts. Anton was able to convince the previous tenant to not extend their stay anymore so you can move there as soon as it’s finished."

"You kicked them out don’t you?" Amy squinted her eyes in doubt, knowing how pushy Henry can be, she doesn’t believe that the previous tenant, willingly moved out.

"I wouldn’t use the word kick out, love. I would rather say they got convinced," Henry smirked meaningfully, which Amy understood.

She knows she cannot undo what is done, plus Henry would never allow it to. She can only shake her head as she continues eating her breakfast.

"We can go there after eating if you want. Theo wanted to have a meeting with you about it. He will make you choose the materials and designs, but I told him to hold it off until I informed you about it."

"Sure, I want to check it. Plus, I am excited to see that private room you are talking about," Amy jested as she winked at Henry.

Henry laughed hard, which made the people near them look at him. Everyone in the cafe knows who he is and it’s a rare sight to see him smiling, even more so to see him laughing.

"You are learning love, and I like it," he said.
