Tyson was deeply hurt.

"Go! Just get out!"

"Tyson..."

Before she could say anything else, Tyson slammed the door shut. She could only sigh and turn to leave. But as she turned, she saw Julian Donovan standing in the hallway not far away. He lived with Tyson in the small building next to the main house of the Shaw Residence.

Naomi Shaw was mortified. Julian Donovan was watching her from a distance with an expression of pure scorn and impatience. ’He must have heard my conversation with Tyson,’ she thought. ’He heard me say that all I wanted was to love him in secret.’ Lacking the courage to face his mocking gaze any longer, she lowered her eyes in despair and ran past him with her head down.

In all these years, Naomi Shaw had never hated herself as much as she did in that moment. She hated her own stubborn obsession. She desperately wanted to let him go, but the more she tried, the more frequently she found herself thinking of him.

After running out, Naomi Shaw went to see Ian Shaw to tell him she was planning to move out of her school dormitory and live with Lara Nash. Ian Shaw had always doted on her and would do anything she asked—with the sole exception of her decision to study nursing. Besides, Ian Shaw knew Lara’s father and was aware that Lara was one of her closest friends, so he didn’t ask many questions. He just said their happiness was all that mattered and gave her his approval.

However, as Naomi Shaw was about to leave, Ian Shaw sighed.

"What’s gotten into you all lately? Julian just told me he’s moving out, and now you’re telling me the same. It seems old folks really aren’t wanted around here anymore!"

A sharp pain shot through Naomi Shaw’s heart. ’He’s moving out too? It’s probably to avoid any more contact with me, isn’t it?’

’Maybe this is for the best. If we don’t see each other, these feelings will eventually fade, right?’ she thought bitterly, then turned back to comfort Ian Shaw with a smile.

"Dad, I’m just moving out of the dorms. I’ll still come back to see you on weekends or whenever I have free time!"

In truth, what she wanted most was to move back into the Shaw Residence to take care of and be a good daughter to Ian Shaw. But then she remembered he had Mrs. Sommers, the housekeeper, and she dismissed the idea. Sommers had worked for their family ever since they moved to Thailos. She was a virtuous and kind Thailosian woman who had been diligently looking after both her and Ian Shaw for all these years.

She could see that Sommers was deeply in love with Ian Shaw. Her father had been single for so many years, and since he said her mother had passed away long ago, she hoped he could find his own happiness. This was also why she had chosen to live in the dorms during university—to create opportunities for the two of them to be alone together.

As Naomi Shaw was heading out, Mrs. Sommers chased after her with a large food container.

"Naomi, are you leaving? I made you some food. Take it back and share it with your friends at the dorm!"

"Thank you, Mrs. Sommers. I’ll leave my dad in your care!"

She smiled, took the food container, and thanked Sommers sweetly. A little embarrassed, Sommers simply nodded.

A week later, Naomi Shaw and Lara Nash moved out. Lara and Ronan Joyce had found the place—a two-story, Thailos-style house near their university. Lara said it was very cozy, so all Naomi had to do was bring her things and move in.

After dropping her off, Lara Nash and Ronan Joyce left again. Naomi Shaw went inside and saw that the house was indeed very cozy, but it needed a good cleaning. She set down her luggage and immediately started tidying up.
