Henry’s eyes widened, mentioning of the certificate name was still possible plausible, but Oxford, now that was just impossible.
"Wait, let me explain," she continued with a smile. "According to what i learnt about your former life through your memories, this world isn’t so different from it, or atleast it wasn’t,"
"How?" Henry asked with a curious gaze
"Before the return of mana and war with the beasts, humanity hadn’t developed much, Infact it was exactly like what i saw in your memories, just a basic suburban civilization with cars that had wheels, 7 continents and yes, Oxford University," Felicity explained
"But after the war, everything changed, many continents, nations, races and tribes were erased. It was what was left of the world that we used to rebuild civilization, Infact Arcadia is what remained of Europe, mostly France and England, and that is why you’ll still see some people out there who speak French," she stated
Henry was completely stunned, he hadn’t expect that this world was so similar to his former world, it even proposed a new theory for him. "That is a lot to take in but what if my world is the past of this world? like maybe i was reincarnated into the future," he voiced out
Felicity placed her hand on her chin. "Hm, interesting hypothesis, we can look into it later, I’ve also got a degree in history," she smiled
"How many degrees do you have?" Henry chuckled
"15," she replied, to which Henry’s jaw dropped
"Well, you try living for one hundred years," she laughed slightly
Henry smiled. "Well i plan to. But I’m glad we had this talk, I’m actually happy to have someone to talk to about... Everything, my past, my reincarnation, and even my future," he said
"It’s okay, just know that you can speak to me about anything, I’ll always be here for you, everyone just needs someone to talk to," Felicity replied with a gentle, motherly smile
"Definitely but... If i decide to open up and let people in, won’t that distract me? I mean, look at me, i say a few words to a girl i care about and suddenly I’m on the bed, drinking chocolate and sulking, i have never sulked before. What I’m just trying to say is, i should be training and getting stronger but here i am," Henry said
Felicity sighed. "Well, aren’t i here with you? Does that make me weak? It’s okay to show affection to those you care about, because believe me, hiding it or pretending not to like them is much worse, and it can cause irreversible damage. You can be caring to those you love, but ruthless to your enemies, take me for example," she chuckled
Henry nodded. "I see, thanks mum, i really needed to hear that. And yeah, who would think that the same woman who snaps people’s neck for looking at her the wrong way, would be here giving therapy, it’s so ironic," he laughed causing Felicity to laugh as well
"So Henry, it’s not too late to fix things, i know that deep down in that heart of yours, you like her and surprisingly she likes you," Felicity chuckled
"Hey, what’s there not to like?" Henry asked with a smug smile
"It’s not that, it’s just that Alicia is... Very tough on boys. No boy is perfect in her eyes. Other than her father, grandfather and Xavier, i doubt she adores any other male," Felicity explained
"But you are an exception, and know this, she can be very wild, and that’s what makes her special,"
"Oh, I’m very aware," Henry chuckled. But there was another thought going on in his head. "Come to think of it, she’s never mentioned her father, neither has Jane. And even mum doesn’t seem to have an husband so who’s Emily’s dad? Hmm, i should look into this later, to confirm i haven’t associated myself with a bunch of black widows,"
"Good, i hope you both better find yourselves and make this work, that’s not a request. I’m so excited, my two babies, making babies," Felicity giggled
Henry wore a cringe smile, he wanted to ask his mother if she had drank something strong, but he refrained himself, knowing the hot, eruptive consequence.
"Alright, come on, I have something to show you," Felicity said and stood up
"Hm?" Henry raised a brow
"Just get dressed, it’s part of your training, but more fun," she replied and walked towards the door, she was about to leave when she noticed that Henry still didn’t move
She sighed. "I promise, it’s not a volcano," she said and only then did Henry stand up and head toward the bathroom
Felicity chuckled and surprisingly opened the door and excited the room, like a civilized person for once.
After a few minutes, Henry arrived at the dining room, where Felicity was waiting for him patiently. He was wearing his usual black tracksuit and white inner vest. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"Would you like to eat first?" Felicity asked
Henry shook his head. "Nope, I’ve had too much chocolate already,"
"Alright, let’s go," she said and snapped her fingers. Like always, the usual effect began occurring, everything vanished with a bright, blinding light.
As the distortion dissipated, Henry’s surroundings snapped back into focus. He blinked, taking in the unfamiliar landscape. Gone was the dining hall, replaced by the steel and concrete jungle of the city. Skyscrapers stretched towards the sky, their peaks hiding in the clouds. The expressway hummed with activity, a constant stream of cars and pedestrians flowing through the metropolis.
And standing before them was a towering building. Its sleek, modern design seemed to give it a magnificent architecture, it’s peak disappearing into the clouds. Emblazoned on the building’s surface was a massive, blue snowflake logo, gleaming in the sunlight. It was with no doubt, the tallest building in the city.
Felicity smiled in admiration and pride. "Welcome to my faction’s headquarters Henry," she stated."Welcome to the Glacial order faction."
