Chapter 945: Chapter 580: My Dad Wants to See You

Song Chi is leaving soon.

Zhou Yun reluctantly sees him off, walking him all the way to the car door.

Song Chi smiles and says, "Go back inside, everyone is waiting for you to return to the set."

Zhou Yun replies, "I’ve just finished a scene and we’re changing sets, not so soon, you get in the car."

The two stand by the car door to say goodbye, and the assistants sensibly give them some space.

Song Chi and Zhou Yun hug each other.

"I’m going now," Song Chi says.

"Okay." Zhou Yun nods.

After lingering for a while, Song Chi finally gets into the car.

"You shouldn’t just stand here, head back inside." Song Chi says to Zhou Yun before closing the car door.

Zhou Yun nods with a smile, but doesn’t move, waiting until the car drives away and disappears before letting out a sigh and turning back.

Everyone on set is talking about how handsome Song Chi is in person, especially the young girls.

Zhou Yun chuckles.

Zheng Xiaojue says, "Sister Xiao Yun, just now when Brother Chi came over, your face was full of smiles."

"Otherwise? Should I be crying instead if I’m not smiling?" Zhou Yun retorts.

Zheng Xiaojue laughs, "You don’t usually smile that much. When Brother Chi comes over, you smile way more."

Zhou Yun doesn’t respond to Zheng Xiaojue’s comment but asks, "Xiaoju, do you feel tired?"

"Tired?" Zheng Xiaojue shakes her head, "Not tired at all, I don’t feel tired."

Zhou Yun asks, "We’ve been working all year round, and you don’t feel tired?"

"It’s fine, Sister Xiao Yun. I’ve taken quite a few breaks this year," Zheng Xiaojue says, "Besides, I don’t have anything else to do."

"What if you fall in love later?" Zhou Yun asks, "You’ll want to get married and have kids, right?"

Zheng Xiaojue thinks seriously for a moment, "By then, I’ll surely be promoted, right?"

Zheng Xiaojue looks earnestly and expectantly at Zhou Yun, "Isn’t that right, Sister Xiao Yun?"

Zhou Yun laughs.

"Yes, you’ll have been promoted, no longer just an assistant, running around with me every day, then I’ll probably find it hard to adjust." Zhou Yun says.

Zheng Xiaojue pats her chest, "Sister Xiao Yun, don’t worry, I’ll definitely train my apprentice well."

"You’re already planning apprentices for something that hasn’t even started yet," Zhou Yun teases.

Zheng Xiaojue juts her chin, "One must have dreams."

Her eyes twinkle, "But, Sister Xiao Yun, I think you’ve been really tired these past two years, haven’t you noticed? Your tiredness is cyclical, a period of exhaustion, a bit better, then another spell of fatigue. You might think the better times mean you’re not tired, but actually, you’ve never truly had a rest. In conversations with people, I learned that other actors aren’t like you, typically spending over two-thirds of the year filming, and intensely at that."

"I’ve seen a lot of actors in Europe and America filming even more than me." Zhou Yun says, "I don’t really feel I can’t handle this intensity."

"But it’s not only about intensity, right?" Zheng Xiaojue says, "Your habit is to still think about the script even after shooting, which is a huge mental burden for you. You’re consistently in character, whereas many method actors stop thinking about it once they’re off work, but you, Sister Xiao Yun, can’t do that yet."

Zheng Xiaojue’s words really hit home for Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun’s mouth slightly twitches.

"I really want to argue with you, but I can’t."

Zheng Xiaojue is quite pleased with herself, "Because what I said is true."

"Alright, you’re right. You should remind me more to take breaks," Zhou Yun says, "I’m indeed too tired now."

"Mainly because you take on too many roles." Zheng Xiaojue says seriously, "And there’s also a lot of commercial work and program recording."

"Most of it is repaying favors," Zhou Yun tells Zheng Xiaojue, "Especially program recordings."

"That’s true, but Sister Xiao Yun, how can there be so many favors to repay?" Zheng Xiaojue says, "I’ve seen many actors who don’t have as much to repay, and even if they do, it should’ve been sorted out over the past couple of years."

Zheng Xiaojue’s words make Zhou Yun pause.

That’s true.

Regarding her own favors, she’s pretty much repaid them already.

She now occasionally accepts program recordings mainly to exchange resources for Lu Zhongting and the others.
