Chapter 931: Chapter 574: Strange Rules (Part 4)

Zhou Yun asked, "What’s the story?"

Yuk Chu replied, "He lets me decide for myself. He thinks any way I express it is fine, that any way can bring it out."

Zhou Yun laughed.

"It’s certainly a good thing that we’re allowed to decide for ourselves as actors, but he hasn’t given me the sense of security, like, how to say, he hasn’t made me believe in myself enough that however I act it will be the right way."

"Yes, that’s exactly it."

Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu exchanged a smile.

Just then, Cui Xidong called them over.

Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu put away their smiles and walked over.

Cui Xidong said, "Zhou Yun, Yuk Chu, He Wenyun is having a fit right now. We probably can’t shoot the next scene, so let’s film another scene first."

Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu glanced at the scene that was to be shot later.

"I haven’t memorized my lines yet," Zhou Yun said, "I haven’t got them down yet."

Cui Xidong nodded and said, "Then why don’t you memorize them now?"

Zhou Yun thought for a moment and nodded, "Alright."

She said to Yuk Chu, "Shall we run through the scene twice first?"

Yuk Chu agreed.

"Director, would you like to take a look?" Zhou Yun asked Cui Xidong again.

Cui Xidong nodded.

Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu had just finished running through the scene with their scripts when He Wenyun returned.

She came over and said, "I’m back, which scene are we shooting? Let’s get on with it."

Her face was dark and unsmiling, and she completely ignored Cui Xidong.

Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu looked at each other, a bit confused as to why He Wenyun had come back.

But Cui Xidong didn’t lose his temper in the slightest. Seeing her return, he had the art crew adjust the set and calmly explained to the three of them how to shoot the next scene.

Yuk Chu gave Zhou Yun a look, full of emotion.

However, although He Wenyun shot the scene as usual, it was obvious to anyone with eyes that she had a significant issue with Cui Xidong. She was practically giving him the cold shoulder, and once the scene was done, she sat to one side, not interacting with Cui Xidong at all.

Remarkably, Cui Xidong didn’t seem inclined to engage her any further; after confirming the scene was good to go, he moved on.

The atmosphere was unbearably awkward.

The next scene was just two ordinary shots of Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun sat at her workstation.

After shooting, Cui Xidong clapped his hands and said, "That’s a wrap for now, everyone take a break and have some food."

Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu still had two more scenes to shoot that evening.

Zhou Yun went back to her trailer to eat.

Zheng Xiaojue laid out the food on the table.

Suddenly, Yuk Chu came over, wanting to eat together.

"Let’s eat together." Zhou Yun nodded.

Yuk Chu sat down with a mysterious look, giving Zhou Yun a "guess what I’m about to tell you" expression.

Zhou Yun asked, "What’s up? Did you find out the reason for the conflict between He Wenyun and Cui Xidong?"

Yuk Chu burst into laughter.

"Who knows me better than you?"

Zhou Yun: "...Your curiosity about gossip is never-ending."

"Gossip is a woman’s nature."

"So just tell me, what was the conflict about?" Zhou Yun asked.

Yuk Chu said, "He Wenyun tried to negotiate with Cui Xidong to adjust some scenes in the script for her. She had some ideas about her scenes, but Cui Xidong rejected her. She then asked why, and Cui Xidong said they were shooting a show, not doing an art project. He Wenyun argued that changing her scenes wouldn’t affect anyone else or the normal shooting schedule, but would make her character more complete. Cui Xidong replied that her character didn’t need to be more complete and suggested sticking to what’s in the script."

Zhou Yun: "..."

She stared at Yuk Chu in disbelief.

"Really?"

"Really, there were a lot of people around at the time, and they all heard it," Yuk Chu said. "He Wenyun’s face turned dark right away, that’s why she blew up."

"Knowing Cui Xidong, he’s not the kind who would want to change the script," Zhou Yun teased. "Didn’t he say during the script reading that this script has passed Yuehai’s review board and should be changed as little as possible?"

"Speechless."

"Haha," Zhou Yun laughed. "Let’s eat first, I’m starving."

"Okay."

The two scenes in the evening were entirely between Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu.

After eating their fill, they managed to shoot until wrap-up smoothly.

It was already nine at night.

Zhou Yun let out a long yawn and said, "I’m so sleepy."

"I’m sleepy too," Yuk Chu said.
