Chapter 207 – Cat Dad’s First Guild War (1)

DING

<MUNYA Guild. Please be prepared for the match.>

<All your members will be teleported to the battlefield in one minute!>

The boys and the mermen gulped as they could see the messages. Some of them suddenly had the urge to pee. A bad luck one, aka a merman scout, had a stomach ache and needed to take the number two.

Seeing how nervous his subordinates were, Xiaomao ordered them to rush to the toilet and do whatever was necessary.

Hearing Xiaomao’s order, Peter, James, and half of the mermen sprinted to the toilets.

“How childish,” Lucky shook her head.

“It’s their first war, munya. Unlike you, they have no experience in group fights. Come to think of it, how long had you been protecting the dungeon before I showed up, munya?”

Lucky wryly smiled, “I don’t know. I don’t remember. But I do remember that the previous general was killed, and I was supposed to replace him.”

“Ah, lucky you, munya.”𝒇𝔯e𝚎𝘄𝑒𝑏𝙣𝑜𝚟𝗲𝑙.c𝘰𝚖

Xiaomao still remembered that he killed a gnoll general, but the game suddenly rolled back and resurrected all gnolls. The dead gnoll might have been replaced by Lucky, and she ended up becoming Xiaomao’s slave.

“He-he, that’s right. I’m LUCKY!”

A minute quickly passed by, and MUNYA Guild’s members were teleported to the battlefield.

However, instead of sending everybody to a plain, Xiaomao was the only one on top of a castle wall. As for the rest of his members, they were sent to prison – Everybody got stuck in a transparent 100 square-meter cube, which was floating over the Guild War’s battlefield.

Lucky, Shepherd, and the crew had expected this as Xiaomao had explained the rules to them beforehand. However, the nervous mermen, who hadn’t finished peeing, were stunned when they were teleported. Their stomach screamed, and the liquid in their pee holes was sucked back into the bladders.

Unfortunately, the guy with the number two issues lost his battle. He got sent to the transparent room while he was squatting with two humanoid legs while his fish head was sweating profusely. As if the merman had transformed into a local man in India’s slum, his dark expressionless face was frozen, and his wide eye stared at everybody who looked at him.

DRIP

Black things dropped on the invisible floor, which highlighted the unholy semi-liquid object.

Coincidentally, the guy was at the center of the room, and the smell quickly spread.

“%[email protected]&!”

The members of the cube made a lot of noises while the poor merman cried in embarrassment.

Xiaomao was oblivious to the commotion. He looked up and found the countdown timer.

DING

<Please get ready. Your match will start in 10 seconds.>

There was no explanation of the battle or the rules as everything was explained on the website. Xiaomao had read it, and it was the same as what he had seen in his previous life.

The war rules were similar to RTS games with a few twists.

Firstly, both guilds started with one headquarters castle. One controlled the west side while the other controlled the east. The guild masters were deployed to their respective headquarters first.

Secondly, to achieve victory, they had to either kill their opponent’s guild leader or capture their opponent’s castle. However, guild leaders could hide in their castles, which were protected by obelisk towers that could instantly one-shot any player during the first five minutes.

Next was the complicated RTS part. Both sides must gather resources to build structures or summon their guild members to the battlefield. Resources were generated over time by default, but players could complete quests or build structures to accelerate it.

In the middle of the battlefield, located between the two castles, a thousand nameless NPCs wandered around, and they would offer quests to players that approached them first. Some of them could gift buildings or resources to the player’s guild, and a few combat-type NPCs would even join forces with the quest taker’s guild.

In short, it was a resource-management race.

“Next match, we have MUNYA Guild from World 3 versus Shu Han Guild from World 3!”

The loud voice of the announcer was audible. Xiaomao’s cat ears flapped as he was annoyed.

As if the hosts could read his mind, there was no more strange noise. It appeared that the game’s moderators and the event hosts disallowed the participating players from hearing their voices.

Xiaomao brought out his flying sword. He hopped on it and scanned through the NPCs on the field.

NPC#0127, Level 17

NPC#0945, Level 45

Xiaomao frowned as he couldn’t find any NPC with level 100 or higher. He brought out a binocular and looked at the opposite side of the battlefield.

Close to the Shu Han’s castle wall, Xiaomao could see their names and their levels.

NPC#0111, Level 217

NPC#0765, Level 174

‘Motherhumper! What a subtle cheat!’

NPCs with a higher level always gave better quest rewards, but all good NPCs with high levels gathered near Shu Han Guild’s side. If Xiaomao blindly took the quests from the nearest NPCs, he would fall behind in the long run.

‘That’s it. I’m going to shut you down!’

DING

The countdown timer reached zero, and Xiaomao’s flying sword charged forward at the speed of sound. Within seconds, he was 210 meters away from the Shu Han’s castle wall, where the obelisks were shining brightly.

Without hesitation, Xiaomao’s tentacle coiled around the arm of the #0111 NPC and pulled him to the flying sword. Then, he flew back to his castle before Liu Bei could come out to harass him.

When Xiaomao was leaving, he didn’t forget to look around and search for better high-level quest-givers. The corner of his eyes immediately spotted a young man, who stood out from the rest.

Usually, the War NPCs were humans, and their faces were generic. However, that young man was abnormally handsome, and he had wings!

In addition, the name of that angel was weird.

NPC#0000, Level 0

Something was terribly wrong here. Xiaomao believed that the NPC was a hidden trap that Pangu had laid for him.

‘Damn cheaters. I won’t take a quest from that stupid angel, EVER! Who knows what kind of tricks they are using.’

Flying back with the speed of sound, Xiaomao returned to the empty area behind his guild’s castle wall. He let NPC#0111 down and looked at him.

“Give me a quest, munya!”
