Chapter 225: Chapter 225: Ordos and Naros

The group jumped down the hole. It was a straight vertical tunnel with no amount of incline on the sides.

Mater flew down flawlessly.

Crow turned into an unusually large vulture and carried both Selina and Sparrow down the hole.

Selina was still invisible at the time.

Sparrow dusted the dirt off his clothes, "This place is filthy."

Crow turned back into his humanoid form. He tipped his hat slightly, "Which formation should we take, Master?"

Crow was used to having Bash at the front line. Now that the tank was gone, the formation was broken. They needed a new formation for the battle tactic.

Mater stroked his whiskers in deep thought.

"Summon your Terrestrial Guards, Sparrow."

"Your wish is my command, Master." Sparrow smiled and bowed at mater.

He grabbed the lute on his back and began to play a song.

Did he need to play a song? No, he didn’t. His spells could be used without it. The effect of the Adventurous Lute only affected the Terrestrial Guards once they were already summoned.

But he felt like this grand opening of his ’pets’ needed a proper introduction.

Selina revealed her head out of the Dampening Static Field. She sweated profusely.

"Does he always need to play something?" Selina said.

The black cat grinned widely, "Nope. But it is amusing, is it not?"

Crow scratched his head. If it was Aaron Cage, he would very much advise again what they were doing here. This music would notify their presence to the enemy. But Mater definitely wouldn’t care about that.

"Observe! The loyal guards of mine, Master!"

Sparrow played a heroic song. It boosted the mood of those who heard it and made them want to go on a journey of justice. It was not a song that Selina nor Mater knew. Sparrow just made up the song on the spot.

The ground emerged and quickly, two large rocky golem stood tall in front of the group.

They had a yellowish and orange color due to the rock and dust in the desert. Their face was a hollowed sphere with a ball of Terrestrial Energy inside, or as Warlock used to call it, Gaia.

The two golems were slightly different from each other. Once seemed to be rounder and bigger, the other was thinner with long arms.

Sparrow presented the two golems to Mater.

"These are my two golems, Master. Ordos and Naros. Ordos is bigger, rounder. He’s the best tank you can find. Naros is also very durable. But she is built to catch and hold the enemy for you."

The black cat nodded, "Very impressive, Sparrow. They would fit quite well on the frontline. I do wonder, however, can you only make two golems?"

"I can make more, Master. But the more guards I summon, the weaker each one would be. If I activate a domain, I can summon four of them." Sparrow said.

"I see. Keep your Domain Expansion close and only use it once it is absolutely necessary." The black cat meowed.

"Sparrow understood, Master!"

Ordos and Naros stomped forward. They were mindless golems and weren’t that intelligent. They could understand orders from Sparrow and a few complicated tasks.

However, to control them precisely, Sparrow would need to play a song, which was not necessary at the moment.

The group went deeper into the cave.

Ordos and Naros were in the front. Sparrow was behind them. Both Crow and Selina had turned invisible, concealing their presence and waiting for the best time to strike.

The black cat floated in the furthest back. Its red eyes and shiny octagrams were the highlights in the darkness.

The cave expanded the more they ventured. This was not a simple burial site. There were many dried corpses. Corpses that no one knew how long they were there.

Selina touched a piece of bone embedded in the war. It crumbled and turned into dust, "This must be a few hundred years at least."

Crow was on the other side, plucking a skull out of the wall. "Or a few thousand."

The group continued on their path. The tunnel went deeper and deeper into the ground. The ground slanted downward into a slope.

The walls changed slowly and revealed more secrets behind. It was a hidden structure beneath the ground.

The walls were built. Patterns carved onto them and belonged to an ancient civilization.

"These are..." Selina’s voice echoed in the space.

The black cat smirked, "I bet this is another hidden force that we do not know about."

Mater knew that there were a lot of beings having their eyes on this world. These beings hid themselves behind companies and hidden organizations.

The black cat suspected that this might be one of those forces again.

At the end of the path, there was a circular platform made out of red copper.

The feet of the golems echoed heavily on the platform. The black cat landed on the ground and caressed the patterns on the platform.

"What is it, Master?" Sparrow said. His eyes darted around, making sure that no one would attack them.

"Chaos Ritual... The Sacrificial kind."

The black cat meowed.

Everyone’s eyes aimed at the middle of the platform.

There were two charcoaled bodies of two children standing. They were still holding hands even in their death.

The black cat blinked. Its octagrams revealed several Chaos Links extended from the corpses to multiple directions.

The children wraiths that haunted the Highway originated from here. But it wasn’t a natural occurrence. Similar to many cases that Mater had encountered, this was by design.

In the octagrams, the twisted face of a being was revealed. It stood right behind the two corpses. Its face was triangular with a jaw so sharp it could puncture the flesh. Its eyes were thin and evil. A pair of pure white eyes.

The face was made of shadow and darkness.

This was a being that originated from the hell of darkness, the Netherworld.

"So even they have spotted this world." The black cat meowed.

The face was only a projection. The being wasn’t here.

"Get ready. We’re fighting these things."

Sparrow stretched his fingers and began playing a battle song. He took control of the two golems and marched them forward at the corpses.
