Crow disappeared without even saying goodbye. Thomas’s eyes squinted a little. His eyes turned red as he saw Crow leaving. But Ben couldn’t.
"Why did you just agree with them, Tommy?" Ben said.
Tommy stood up and grabbed Ben. The man slapped Ben in the face.
"Shut up, Ben! From now on, you’ll do exactly as I say or you’re done! You understand?"
"Yes... Boss."
As bloodlust as Thomas Moriarty was. He knew there would be no benefit in causing more mayhem. He already had too much on his plate in dealing with the Selomo family.
Crow returned to Justin’s office just a little while later. Selina was still sitting inside, petting Mater. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"It is done, Master." Crow knelt in front of Selina and the black cat.
Mater nodded. He swallowed Crow back into the Demonic Arsenal. Crow turned into a strip of shadow and went inside the Dark Grimoire.
"You can sleep free now, Justin."
"Is it really done? It’s so quick." Justin said.
"You can verify it."
Justin nodded. He picked up his phone and called his associate Ben Booth.
"Ben. It’s me, Justin. About the job... What? Thomas already said I don’t need to do it? Alright. Alright. Thank you."
Justin talked with Ben on the phone for a while. He kept nodding along with what Ben said. Then he hung up.
"Huh. That asshole becomes so much more polite for no reason."
"No. There is a reason." Selina smiled.
Justin nodded. "Miss Isles. If you’re free, would you like to accompany me for a little bit? We can finish your request within the day."
"Sure. The sooner the better."
Justin then talked Selina through the process of making her mobile credits legal. He had arranged an inspection with an appraiser to confirm the amount of the mobile credits. Once the inspection was done and the court approved the legality of the inheritance, the credits could then be transferred into traceable legal credits under Selina’s name.
"I have ’prepared’ the necessary documents for everything. You don’t need to pay a single dime in tax as this amount isn’t taxable. Only 15 million or more do. Then we just need to wait for the court approval, which would take a maximum of five business days."
Thanks to the Union’s advanced computing system, most legal processes were automated nowadays. What could take a few months in the past had now become days.
Mater laughed at the word ’prepared’. The man tried his best to avoid using illegal terms even though he forged those documents outright.
Mater spat out the two million credits for Justin to process. The criminal lawyer took them to a pawn shop first. He bought an old looking chest and asked the pawn owner to ’touch up’ the mobile credits, making them look ancient and dusty.
"This way. It will actually look like something that was prepared long ago. I know the appraiser so he won’t dig too deep. But we still need to make it presentable to the court." Justin explained.
"Sounds reasonable." Selina said.
Then they went straight to the court so that his appraiser friend could inspect the mobile credits.
The amount was then temporarily seized by the court for processing. Once everything was done, the mobile credits would appear once again in Selina’s account as legal usable credits.
"Don’t worry. They would only hold it for you." Justin whispered to Selina.
"I’m not worried," Selina shrugged. If something went wrong, Crow was more than ready to turn invisible and took them back.
The process took an entire day away from Selina. When they finished, the sun was beginning to drop.
Selina went by the AE Forges and the Cemetery for Mater to drop off Bash and Crow. She then went to the cold storage to rest and let Aurora return to her Glacial Shrine.
The rent this month was due. Selina transferred the 2,000 credits for rent and 1,000 credits for utility bills to the owner.
Selina’s current wealth was 35,000 legal credits and 3,000,000 mobile credits.
"Finally! Sweet bed!" Selina dropped on the bed.
"Finally! Sweet cushions!" Mater flopped on Selina’s chest.
The two of them rested for the night.
In the morning, they woke up with the new notification sent by the ACPD. The reward for the Bronze Rank Bounty in the Lambkins Mansion was here.
The Bronze Rank was recategorized as a Silver Rank Mission. Usually Bronze Rank like Selina shouldn’t be able to take it. But she did successfully complete the bounty so the ACPD didn’t care.
The reward was a whopping amount of 150,000 credits and 100 tokens.
Selina’s Bronze Rankings shot from Number 63 to Number 7, with total tokens of 473. She only needed a few more to reach 500, which would be the qualification for Silver Rank.
Her legal credits had risen to 185,000 credits.
"Holy shit!" Selina jumped in the bed in joy.
185K was nothing compared to the millions she and Mater got from the Zakharovs or the Haland Boys. But she was still happy about it.
185,000 credits were a lot of money. She wasn’t that delusional to think that it was little.
Mater stroked his cat whiskers and smirked.
"You should thank me properly." The black cat’s deep voice echoed.
"Wanna shower?" Selina said.
Mater’s fur stood up, "Ain’t no way I’m getting back into that hellhole!"
"How about watching me and Aurora shower?"
The black cat’s ears perked up in excitement. "For real?"
"Always."
The black cat stood up and clapped, "Come, servant!"
His voice reached Aurora in the cold room. Aurora stood up from her Shrine. She had fully recovered from yesterday.
She walked out to the living room naked and saw Selina was also stripping off her clothes. Two perfect frames were in front of the perverted black cat.
The black drooled so much it created a puddle of water beneath him.
"I NEED TO GET MY THIRD LOCK AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE!" Mater shouted in desperation.
Selina stuck out a tongue and teased him. She and Aurora walked inside the bathroom. The black cat bolted inside.
"Yeah! Baby doll! That’s right... You’re so perfect!"
The two girls washed each other in the shower. Their perfect glistening skin was even more defined under the wetness of water. The black cat could feel his heart almost jump out of his chest.
"I’ve never been happier in my life!"
