CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 168: Fire Knife
Princess Cassandra was angry, her eyes were filled with rage.
No matter how hard she tried, Cassandra could not contain her emotions. Princess Cassandra knew she was hurt. She had never wanted Amy to suffer because of her.
Princess Cassandra was aware of what Amy had done over the years for her. Cassandra had always wished that once everything was over, she would release Amy so that her best friend would find her happily ever after as well.
"WHY? AMY...." Princess Cassandra shouted as she looked at Amy. Seeing the lifeless body of her lady in waiting gave her a great shock. Cassandra’s finger’s shivered as she tried to touch Amy’s cold face but she was not brave enough.
Princess Cassandra looked at the culprit, the Grand Duke. Lord Bentham had taken a hold of his father at this moment. Maybe it was because Achard knew what his father had done; he was aiming for the fifth princess.
Maybe the Grand Duke knew that it would be difficult to kill the fifth Princess. Seeing her power had filled his heart with doubt, so the Grand Duke decided to kill Cassandra with his own hand.
The Grand Duke was filled with revenge, He wanted to kill Cassandra with his own hand for pulling his wife away from his life.
The Grand Duke’s eyes were filled with resentment as he looked at the fifth Princess. He wanted her to die. He wanted her to suffer and yet she was saved again.
The Grand Duke looked at Lord Bentham. "How can you do this? After all the things she had done to us, you’re still trying to protect her? Do you not love your mother?"
Lord Bentham took a step forward. His eyes were filled with resentment. "Love, my mother? I’ve always loved her. Maybe that is the reason why I am helping Cassandra? She is the person my mother wanted to protect, so she is the person I would be protecting her."
The Grand Duke did not know how his own son would be such a heartless person. How could he forget to take revenge for his mother’s death? "You have changed?" The Grand Duke said. "Was it because you have lived in the Elvira Empire that you think that those people are near to you? I AM YOUR FATHER."
Lord Bentham laughed as if he had heard some joke. "Father? You are just a man, who has sent his own son to the enemy Empire so that he can kill an innocent child. A man who did not have time to even look at his own son, when he needed him the most. It was not just you who had lost your wife, it was I too who had lost my mother and yet you managed to make it all about you. It was your own personal revenge. You behaved like you were the only one suffering. Lord Bentham looked at his father.
"You know who had been a good father to me? It was Duke Bentham. I think he might have known what you were planning to do. That you would be neglecting me, maybe that is why he adopted me, or maybe it may be for his own personal games. I don’t know but I cannot forget that he has always been there for me. He has always taken care of me like a father and his wife has always been like a mother to me." Achard Bentham said as his voice turned sarcastic.
"You were never there when I needed you. You have never provided for me, never cared for me. So you, the Grand Duke of the Vivere Kingdom is not my father. I have acknowledged only one father now and that would be Duke Bentham.
The Grand Duke cannot understand why there was such a change in his son. It was true that he had sent him there but it was because he wanted to keep an eye on Cassandra. The Grand Duke looked at the fifth Princess, who was looking at him with deep hate.
It was then that the Grand Duke realized, what he had done. Princess Cassandra looked at him as if she was ready to kill. So many thoughts moved in his mind. The Grand Duke could see Princess Cassandra moving her hands on Amy’s head as she closed her eyes. Her lady in waiting’s lifeless body was on the ground. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Princess Cassandra’s face had become blood-stained. Her cheeks were covered in blood as her body shook with anger. Princess Cassandra did not care how messed up she looked or what Duke Salvador was doing with the witch. She had only one mission for now. Princess Cassandra wanted to kill the man who killed her best friend. Princess Cassandra pulled the knife out from Amy as she closed her eyes. Cassandra’s tears were still flowing.
[Amy wanted me to be happy.] Princess Cassandra thought, [and the best way to be happy right now is to kill the man who had taken all of my happiness away.] Princess Cassandra told herself. She knew that killing the Grand Duke would not bring Amy back, nor would it give her any sense of happiness but Cassandra knew that she would be satisfied.
Cassandra wanted to have that feeling of satisfaction. She wanted revenge. No matter how silly it sounded Princess Cassandra was determined to kill. Her body was giving out an exclusive aura, her eyes were sharp as her steps became powerful.
The power Cassandra had lost because of the witch has doubled. Her powers have become stronger as her blood was boiling to take revenge on the people who have taken her happiness away.
There was a layer of powerful energy surrounding Cassandra’s body. Princess Cassandra’s energy has drastically increased. Even though others could not say a word they could see it. Prince Cedric could even feel the change in the air. Something has definitely given her more power and more strength.
Princess Cassander’s walk was powerful as she bit her lips. Amy’s face was still visible in her eyes. "You are the reason why she’s lying there. If it were for you and your dirty skill Amy would have been alive and breathing."
Princess Cassandra’s eyes sharpened as she was ready to attack. "I will never forgive you. And because you took a life away from me, I will take a life away as well."
Princess Cassandra moved her hand and a strong wave of wind blew. It pulled the Grand Duke up in the sky. Cassandra’s lips hooked as her eyes were shot red. "You are too much impressed by your own power. Too proud of it, Darkness, right? You think that your power is the supreme, something that others should bow down to. But I have a different opinion. This is a battle between us now."
Princess Cassandra’s eyes shook, the water element was called up. It was difficult to see any changes in Cassandra’s expression. "You blamed me for killing your wife, that’s why you tried to kill me. And now I blame you for killing my family, and that’s why I’m going to kill you too."
Princess Cassandra moved her hand back as the knife which she took from Amy was held. [I will kill you by the same means.]
Princess Cassandra pushed and the knife entered the Grand Duke’s body. The Grand Duke’s eyes widened in shock as the knife entered deep, but something else happened soon.
Cassandra pulled her hand as the darkness in Grand Duke’s body accumulated around the knife. Cassandra smiled as she looked at the Grand Duke’s expression. He was breathless and struggling to live.
Cassandra surrounded the Grand Duke’s body with the darkness. The Grand Duke could not see anything. He was afraid but soon a bright light came into his vision, and before he knew it, the Grand Duke was on fire.
"AHHH AHHH .." The Grand Duke shouted as he struggled to move away but he was in the sky. No matter what, he could not do anything. His body was burning and soon he was breathless. The Grand Duke died slowly and miserably as if he was a tree in a wildfire.
When Cassandra saw the darkness fill the Grand Duke’s body, she moved her fingers. A knife of fire was formed as she hit the darkness. As soon as the fire knife hit the spot it burned the whole thing along with the man inside.
"Let your so-called power affect you." With those words, Princess Cassandra pulled her fingers towards herself. The man in the air struggled and soon when the struggle stopped, Cassandra, loosened up the power.
The Grand Duke could feel the air decreasing. He tried to move out but his body was burning. It was as if his whole organs were about to stop. The Grand Duke was hoping that someone might help him. Anyone. But no one did.
He could see his wife’s smiling face in the ball of fire. She was laughing as she looked at him with eager eyes. ’I am finally able to meet you.’ was the only thought filled in Grand Duke’s mind before his eyes closed and the fire engulfed him completely.
A burned, lifeless body hit the ground as if it was a piece of ash.
No one came there to help the Grand Duke. No one took a step forward, not even his own family. Prince Carl and Princess Teimei were still on the ground unable to move. The trauma that they have suffered because of the witch was too high. Although at a time Prince Carl wanted to save his uncle, he could not move while Princess Teimei, who knew that her uncle was ready to sacrifice them for his own personal gains, did not care. It was very common for families to turn her back on their own and the royal sibling decided to do the same.
Lord Bentham looked at his father’s burnt body. It was unrecognizable. Lord Bentham tried to remain calm but he couldn’t hide his sadness. Achard simply closed his eyes as he blamed himself for not making his father stop on time. Maybe if he would have tried to explain it to him things would have changed. But Achard also knew that his father was to consume, blaming Cassandra for the loss.
Lord Bentham controlled his emotions as he turned his back and looked at Princess Cassandra who was looking at the witch.
