CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 129: Curse
The elements looked at one another as they continued.
There was a slight shiver in their tone as if they were afraid of what would happen next.
The first Emperor came there to stop Princess Maxima but the darkness made her think that he was here to destroy her. To make her give up on revenge and leave him alone with her elder sister. And to make matters worse Princess Maxima’s eldest sister came in as well.
She was walking beautifully, full of power. Princess Maxima knew that her elder sister was proud. Proud that she had gained what she always wanted, her name was engraved in history. After all the land that the first Emperor ruled was under her name. Elvira Empire.
The fire element nodded his head. [The Elvira Empire was named after Princess Elvira. The witch that stole the powers of her innocent younger sister for her selfish reasons.]
[Seeing the first Emperor and Princess Elvira together made Princess Maxima’s misunderstanding increase. She could not help but feel betrayed all over again. Although the first Emperor wanted to save Princess Maxima, she did not want his help. But when Princess Maxima’s hand touched the first Emperors she realized that her powers were not completely lost; she could absorb the powers again.]
[But Princess Maxima was not the only one who realized it, it was all. The first Emperor was the first who felt it as his powers were sucked but so did Princess Elvira and the darkness. When the fire was absorbed the darkness felt it might not be needed anymore, after all, Princess Maxima’s soul had some brightness now so it tried to make the Princess absorb everything from the first Emperor, and under the misleading influence of the darkness, Princess Maxima took every single drop of power from the first Emperor resulting in her death.]
[But when Princess Maxima saw the lifeless body of her lover she soon came back to her senses. The revenge in her eyes had long settled down and was replaced by guilt. Princess Maxima’s eyes were crying but she could not find any loss in her elder sister’s gaze. It was then that Princess Elvira decided to tell the truth to Princess Maxima.]
[Princess Elvira told her younger sister of what else she had done to get the first Emperor but even in the state of hypnosis he could not bring himself to marry her. Princess Elvira told the deal that she had with the first Emperor just to protect her, but Princess Maxima was ungrateful and even killed the man herself who simply wanted to protect her.]
[Princess Maxima wanted to avenge so she started absorbing the powers. She felt like if she could absorb the first Emperor’s powers then she could absorb everything back. The powers were sucked from Princess Elvira. But darkness understood what Princess Maxima was trying to do. She wanted to absorb everything and destroy it all so that the cause was eradicated from the core.]
[The darkness could see his hold on Princess Maxima slipping. If everything is destroyed won’t his effort be in vain? So the darkness tried detaching himself from Princess Maxima and rested itself on Princess Elvira. The source of darkness made Elvira powerful but she soon realized that when her younger sister absorbed her powers she also absorbed her magical ability. Everything was a mess. Princess Maxima could not constrain the crystals without the darkness and soon everything busted out. It eventually killed Princess Maxima and sent Princess Elvira into a deep slumber.] 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
[But because Princess Maxima had absorbed the magical ability, us elements were able to take shapes. That is the reason we are here in this form but we still need the help of darkness to maintain it.]
[But that also resulted in us getting cursed. Before everything ended, we were cursed to never reveal the truth to Princess Elvira. The curse can only be broken once Princess Elvira dies. As for when she dies is in your hand Princess.]
The water element came forward as it sat in front of the fifth princess. [Only the true owner of the power can finish the unfinished battle. The darkness had been trying to wake Princess Elvira up but only you can do that. After all, all the elemental power is needed to do so. As to who can go up the snow-filled hill and search for the Princess, only a royal from the Elvira Empire can do that.]
[Although the first Emperor never married anyone, history has always shown that the descendants of him can only rule the Empire as they search for the true descendant of all powers. The Vivere Kingdom, where the darkness resides, sent his most trusted one to the Elvira Kingdom. The secretary of the Elvira Empire is a resident of the Vivere Kingdom. The room that was filled with silence was soon filled with questions. "How is it possible?" Amy was the first one to react.
"The story we know is different." Duke Salvador added.

"But didn’t the Elvira Empire push the Vivere Kingdom out?" Princess Cassandra asked.
[No it was the Vivere Kingdom who separated themself. They believed that they were the most powerful ones. They are needed.]
"But we all still use our power even though we do not have darkness," Amy said in a low tone.
[Yes but the amount you have is the bare minimum that is required to maintain the stability of crystals.]
Duke Salvador raided his eyebrows at the element’s words. "So what do they want now?"
[The Vivere Kingdom’s people feel it is their responsibility to bring Princess Elvira back to life. After all, before she went to sleep, they had made a deal. If the darkness brings Elvira back to life she will help him to absorb all the elements into itself.]
"So why do they hate me?" Duke Salvador asked the question that was bothering him for some time now. They all have told him that he will kill the fifth Princess and that he should stay away from her.
The fire element sighed. [Because the darkness blames the first Emperor for its failure. He thinks if the first Emperor had not come then he might have succeeded. Princess Maxima would still be in it’s control and it would have been able to possess every element under him. The love that the first Emperor had for Princess Maxima was the cause of everything.]
[And you Aiden Salvador resembles the first Emperor. Your aura is the same and your fate is also the same.]
"Fate is the same? Does that mean Duke Salvador will also die in the end?" Princess Cassandra asked in a trembling tone. She did not want to make the Duke suffer.
[No, the First Emperor’s faith was disturbed because of the witch but you have no one in between. But the faith that everyone can change depending on the path they choose. Sometimes we wonder what would have happened if the first Emperor had gone back to Princess Maxima once he was out of hypnosis? What would have happened if he had made her understand that it was all a huge misunderstanding?]

Princess Cassandra nodded her head but her hands were trembling. Duke Salvador who could not see the fifth Princess in such condition simply touched her hand with a smile as he said. "Don’t worry, butterfly. I will not let the past repeat itself."
Amy, who was quiet, asked. "But if Princess Cassandra does not do anything then the witch cannot wake up."
[No, with every power that the Princess absorbs, the witch could feel it. If the snow is melted and the crystal is destroyed then Princess Elvira can be woken up.]
"But who would melt the snow and remove her? Don’t they need a royal descendant to do so? They would need a fire ..." Amy paused as she looked at the Duke and Princess.
All three of them said simultaneously. "Princess Valeria."
[Yes, the darkness waited because a strong fire descendant can only melt everything away. Over the years none of the fire mages survived the palace scheme but only one. And now they are planning to execute their wish.]
Princess Cassandra nodded but she could feel the elements becoming thinner. She did not understand what was happening. She tried to move towards them but her hands could not catch them.
[The curse is taking effort. It’s time for us to pay the consequences of telling you the truth. We won’t be able to talk with you or come outside in any form.]

With the last words, the elements disappeared completely.
