Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Why Not Help in Another Way?

The night flowed silently.

The bedroom light was left on. The young girl faced the wall like a quiet cat curled up there. She made no movement when she heard him come in.

He switched off the main light, then lifted the blanket and lay down, gently brushing her hair inward and embracing her softly from behind.

The night light glowed softly, and the scent emanating from her body filled the bed, light and warm.

However, as soon as his hand touched her abdomen, he felt her body tremble slightly with sensitivity. Her hand reflexively covered his.

He didn’t move further, instead asking, "Who gave you that Meteorite Necklace?"

After a long pause, he heard her softly reply, "Finn Prescott."

He continued, "How did it end up at the auction?"

"My aunt sold it, and the pawnshop took it to the auction."

After speaking, the young girl turned her body around and obediently embraced him, pressing close.

Even though he couldn’t see her expression, Keane Lowell could sense that she wasn’t in a good mood.

He knew a bit about the Prescott Family relationships and understood that Finn Prescott was an illegitimate child. Her resentment towards Finn was understandable, but her heart was too soft to hate completely, leading to such a complex feeling towards him.

"You should be happy now that you have the necklace back. Why aren’t you?" he asked.

"Originally, no one valued that necklace, and it could be bought back for one or two million. Then the price shot up tenfold. Doesn’t it seem like Finn is foolish with his money?"

Keane chuckled softly, amused by her innocence.

For the Prescott Family, that ten million was nothing. Only she seemed to care about it.

Yet what the girl said next left him momentarily stunned.

"You mustn’t ever follow his example in the future."

"..." Keane had no choice but to coax her, "It’s just a necklace, after all, nothing to fuss over. I’ll give you an identical one next time."

"No, it’s not the same."

"Then I’ll give you something else."

Detecting his attempt to comfort her, Claire Prescott fell silent.

Nestled in his arms, she felt a sense of security. It was as if his tenderness smoothed away the negative emotions that had been building in her heart, dissipating silently.

Keane asked then, "Why was the necklace in your aunt’s hands?"

"She stole my piggy bank and initially wouldn’t admit it, blaming it on the child. It got worse and worse..." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

She didn’t continue but changed the topic: "If not for the sake of my grandparents, I’d have sent her to the police station to teach her a lesson."

"Is she still living at Sinclair Apothecary now?"

"Yes, disturbing the peace of the whole house. Maybe once my uncle returns, things will quiet down."

Since the theft, she always locked her door before leaving the bedroom to prevent a repeat occurrence.

She suddenly had an idea, "How about I leave my piggy bank with you? You can keep it safe for me."

"Aren’t you worried I’ll spend all your treasures?"

"With a huge family business, President Lowell wouldn’t covet my small savings." The girl playfully addressed him, her eyes filled with a cheerful glimmer.

Her clear eyes sparkled like the night light, exuding a gentle, pure charm.

Gazing at each other, those eyes held an irresistible allure.

These past two days, the young girl had gone through some troubles, yet still seemed as lively as ever in his presence.

It didn’t appear to be an act...

His throat tightened, and he couldn’t help but kiss her lips.

Her taste was soft and sweet, drawing him in like an addiction, urging him to seek more.

Suddenly, he turned and pressed her beneath him, deepening the kiss.

Claire Prescott’s heart floated up and down with his kiss, unable to find a foothold. She couldn’t move forward or retreat, and her breath was beyond her control. Instinctively, she held onto him more tightly.

The man’s warm hand slipped under her clothes, the rough calluses scraping against her skin, prompting an involuntary moan and a slight tremor.

Simultaneously, she felt his change, the heat of his body almost scalding, making her blush instantly, her cheeks and ears flushed with uncontrollable shyness.

In the dimly ambiguous light, the man’s breaths were hot and heavy, infusing the air with a sensuality.

She couldn’t withstand his kisses, completely unaware of how they reached this point so suddenly.

Her hand pressed against his shoulder, giving him a slight push.

At this moment,

Keane restrained himself, releasing her lips, observing her reaction. Seeing her breathing slightly uneven, revealing an innocently captivating look with each inhale and exhale.

He couldn’t help but tease her with a smile, "We haven’t done anything yet, why so flushed?"

Claire Prescott froze.

Her breath yet to steady, she defiantly retorted, "I haven’t done anything, why did you react?"

Keane was momentarily speechless, gazing at her with a deep, complex look.

After a few silent seconds,

He lowered his head, playfully nipping at her lower lip, unwilling to cause her pain, then gently suckled it.

Yet the girl remained obedient, being sensitive yet showing no desire, unlike the last time in the hot spring, when she splashed water all over his pants.

Knowing she held no interest in such matters at the moment, Keane ultimately pulled a thread of rationality from the web of desire, letting her go, and whispered in her ear, "Claire, we have all the time in the world."

His voice was deep and hoarse.

A tickling sensation crept from her ear to her heart, making Claire Prescott shrink her neck sensitively, with a blush-laden face, she responded softly, "Okay."

Seeing him move off her, getting out of bed.

Claire Prescott suddenly grabbed his arm, "Are you going to take a cold shower again?"

Her eyes flickered, avoiding direct eye contact.

Keane replied warmly, "To cool off."

"...How about, I give you a few acupuncture needles?"

"..."

Offering acupuncture to cool down her boyfriend...

She sure dared to think it, even suggesting it to him.

"Such unconventional thinking," Keane said with a hint of helplessness in his voice, eyes deep as he looked at her, "For matters like these, don’t even consider dealing with me that way."

"Why?"

"You tell me why."

Claire Prescott gradually realized he perhaps didn’t much like that method of relief.

However, it’s nothing harmful, and probably the least damaging method; she wasn’t about to cause him any real harm.

She slowly released his hand.

Yet, the man grasped her hand back, his palm carrying a burning heat, his face still maintaining its usual detached elegance despite the desire whelming him.

He said, "If you genuinely want to help me, how about trying a different way?"

His eyes were fiery and profound, his voice low and magnetic.

Almost instinctively, Claire Prescott understood his implication, shyly pulling back her hand and, escaping, buried her head under the blanket.

Watching the mound of the blanket where she hid, Keane took in her bashful innocence.

He didn’t push her.

Turning away silently, he walked towards the bathroom.
