Chapter 188: Chapter 188: Want to Drink with You

The President Raymond is an old executive who has fought alongside Quentin Lowell for many years under the Lowell-Kystral Group.

He has always been at odds with Keane Lowell.

Recently, he heard that Keane had stirred up a major fuss over a woman at an important drinking party. Raymond has been holding a grudge ever since, finding Keane’s conduct extremely disagreeable.

Earlier, he ostentatiously gave away a woman he had been with, as a way to tell him that a woman is nothing compared to the interests of the group.

Everyone in the private room treated him with great respect, except that he didn’t regard him at all.

Of course.

The situation was naturally awkward.

But the person he complimented earlier didn’t accept it, finding an excuse to give it back.

Throughout, Keane Lowell did not make a statement. He was either serving Claire Prescott food or elegantly sipping wine, his cold and deep eyes calm and composed, showing no ripples.

But Claire Prescott could feel a malicious gaze fall upon her.

Soon, President Raymond suddenly asked, "President Lowell, what does your girlfriend do for work?"

"Don’t try anything with her, she’s out of your league." His tone was normal, yet once he spoke, no one dared to respond or take his words lightly.

Everyone’s eyes turned towards Claire Prescott.

At first glance, she gave the impression of purity, pure and beautiful.

Now, looking closely at her brows and eyes, they realized in addition to that purity, there was a unique and elegant charm, like a flawless jade, once seen, made one desire to possess and keep her hidden away.

But only at that moment did they dare to look openly.

Moreover, being already claimed, and as Keane Lowell’s person, how could they covet her? Soon, they tactfully shifted their gaze away.

But President Raymond sneered disdainfully, gulping down one glass of wine after another, seemingly venting his dissatisfaction with him.

Keane Lowell spoke lightly, "You have served the Lowell-Kystral Group for over thirty years. If you’re feeling so resentful, it’s better to request resignation; there’s no need to lean on past achievements and assume seniority in my presence."

President Raymond gave Keane a lingering look, "You’re not in a position to make that decision."

"Since the rules are set, follow the rules. It’s indeed time to rectify the group’s atmosphere." The one who controls the whole situation.

His words instantly caused unease among the people present.

Someone stepped out to ease the tension, "President Lowell, tonight is for relaxing, let’s not hurt our harmony at home; President Raymond drank too much, please don’t take his words to heart."

Saying this, he raised a glass and drank it himself.

Others followed suit, raising their glasses to him, except for President Raymond, who remained arrogant and disdainful, speaking recklessly, "You’re all just a bunch of fence-sitters; you used to curry favor with me, now you’re scrambling to curry favor with him. I’d like to see how he plans to stir things up."

"President Raymond, you can’t say that. Every decision President Lowell makes is for the good of our group," the man beside him hurriedly tried to persuade him.

Then he drank a few more glasses with him.

President Raymond fell silent, as the atmosphere slowly warmed under the soft sound of the piano.

Claire Prescott could naturally feel the subtlety in it.

Looking back at Keane Lowell.

His profile was sharp and smooth as if carved by divinity, still nobly untainted by the white light surrounding the private room.

There was a sense of everything being under his control, a relaxed ease in handling it all.

His gaze turned toward her.

Claire Prescott didn’t say a word, holding his hand under the table, switching to her left hand to eat with the fork and knife.

Keane Lowell’s gentleness spread from his eyes.

In fact, attending this event was just for old times’ sake; for the present, this gathering had already lost its significance, and there was no need to stay any longer.

He was just about to leave with her.

President Raymond suddenly shouted over the screen into the room, "Stop the music, it’s too noisy!"

The Piano Master inside seemed startled, the music’s final note was off-tune, and then it abruptly stopped, the entire space falling into a cold silence.

President Raymond was tipsy, his whole face red, spreading to his neck.

At this point, Keane Lowell softly asked Claire Prescott, "Are you full?"

Claire Prescott stiffly nodded.

"Enjoy yourselves, I won’t accompany you any longer." With that, he stood up, draped his jacket over his arm, and led Claire Prescott out in front of everyone, walking away cleanly.

Claire Prescott hadn’t eaten much.

Earlier, that inexplicable gaze made it clear; as long as she nodded, he would immediately take her away.

Indeed, that’s what happened.

Maybe the earlier scene was just the tip of the iceberg for him; perhaps he’d encountered even worse before, given the position he held.

But it also couldn’t be denied that he maintained a stable mood both in work and in relationships.

Claire Prescott hugged his arm and called softly, "President Lowell, I wasn’t full earlier."

"I know. I’ll take you to eat somewhere else."

"I don’t think I’ve ever had a drink with you."

Keane Lowell chuckled, "You want to drink with me?"

"Yeah. I’ve been eyeing those wines in your cabinet for so long, I want to see how good those you’ve treasured are."

But I’ve never found the chance to drink with him.

Also curious about what it would be like to drink with him, so the more she thought about it, the more she looked forward to it.

Keane Lowell: "Then let’s go home."

"Okay."

Claire Prescott smiled and followed his steps out of the restaurant.

Her eyes inadvertently glanced over, and her steps stalled, even her smile disappeared, just holding Keane Lowell’s arm standing in front of the hallway.

Keane Lowell looked over, following her gaze.

In the sultry night, Finn Prescott and a girl came into view.

They stood face to face, confronting each other.

Finn held a cigarette, his eyes intently fixed on the girl.

Although it was unclear what had transpired between them before, their expressions were full of stories.

At a certain moment.

Finn took a restrained drag on his cigarette, stepping towards the girl, but she kept retreating, saying, "Don’t come any closer."

As she was about to run away, Finn took a long step, wrapped his arms around the girl’s waist, pinning her to the car, then clasped her chin, leaning down to kiss her...

!!!!!!

Claire Prescott widened her eyes in shock, covering her mouth to prevent herself from crying out in excitement.

She felt herself screaming inside.

Seeing them kissing passionately, she shut her eyes tight, turning away. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

A bit too much to watch, even goosebumps rose, feeling like her eyes weren’t her own, unable to trust what they had seen.

Hadn’t expected Finn to be so rough in romance.

The contrast... was too drastic, she could hardly accept it for a moment.

So she pretended as if she hadn’t seen anything, hiding half her face, quietly letting Keane Lowell lead her away.
