Capturing the Young Doctor's Heart: Mr. Big Shot Won't Let Me Go-Chapter 153: Seventh Madame Brings Chase Chambers Home
Inside the hospital.
One doctor after another came to find Claire Prescott, and Finn Prescott’s VIP ward seemed to have become her clinic.
Claire gradually realized something was wrong. She took out her phone to check the time and prepared to leave when no one was around.
Finn also spoke up: "Go home. I feel much better today and can manage on my own."
Claire finally reminded him: "Take good care of yourself, remember to eat on time, and cut down on smoking and drinking."
"Alright."
As soon as Claire walked out, another doctor came in.
"Excuse me, where did your sister go?"
Finn replied in a low voice: "She already left."
"Left?" The doctor looked helpless and frustrated.
Meanwhile.
In the hospital conference room, there was a tense silence.
The senior leader sat in the main seat, looking sharply at everyone in the Traditional Chinese Medicine department.
"We have so many doctors in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western medicine here, yet none of you can compare to a single finger of a young doctor from a private clinic. Unable to treat any illnesses, what’s the point of having you here?" Milton Rivers’ serious tone carried a hint of sarcasm.
No one dared to refute below.
But it wasn’t as severe as the leader said; it’s not that they can’t treat any illness—it’s just that difficult cases are a bit challenging.
Milton Rivers then shifted the blame onto the interns, "Interns from prestigious schools making mistakes in even taking a pulse—isn’t it embarrassing for you as traditional Chinese medicine practitioners?"
Another wave of silence.
Milton Rivers glanced around them, his refined face still showed ridicule and disdain.
Though he reprimanded them, he didn’t really do anything adverse to them or take the matter to heart, remaining arrogant like an idle rich young man.
Truth be told, coming here today was only to hear that Claire Prescott was at their hospital, with doctors either seeking her help or asking her questions.
Embarrassing, indeed.
Now, it was.
The urge to attract Claire Prescott grew stronger.
Milton Rivers frowned and asked: "What is her relationship with Finn Prescott?"
The conversation turned, and someone answered: "They’re siblings."
Upon hearing this.
Milton Rivers’ face slightly froze, and disbelief flashed in his eyes.
"Siblings?"
The person below replied: "That’s what Mr. Prescott said."
Milton Rivers was taken aback again, his brows furrowing deeply.
Even he couldn’t have imagined that Claire Prescott turned out to be the daughter of the Prescott Family from Valoria, who had never appeared publicly.
No wonder she feared nothing; not only did she have Keane Lowell backing her, but an entire Prescott Family supporting her.
After pondering for a while.
He ultimately said no more, leaving the conference room and heading to Finn’s ward.
Inside the ward.
Finn was standing by the window smoking. Even though he was wearing loose hospital clothing, his upright posture still exuded an aura of aloofness.
Milton Rivers knocked and entered, politely greeting: "Young President Prescott."
Finn turned around, giving him an indifferent glance.
He had naturally seen Milton Rivers before and knew about his dealings with Zara Leighton.
Milton Rivers approached and advised caringly: "Your body hasn’t fully recovered, it’s better to smoke less."
"Is there something you need?" The swirling smoke accentuated his gloomy expression, mixed with slight oppression.
Milton Rivers remained composed, "It’s nothing, I just came to see you."
Finn curled his lips disdainfully, tapped the ash into the ashtray, took a puff, and calmly returned to sit on the bed, "No need for a visit. We aren’t familiar."
"I had the pleasure of meeting your sister; I didn’t realize Young President Prescott had a sibling."
"What, did you bully her?"
"Wouldn’t dare," Milton Rivers self-mocked.
Lucky not to be bullied by her.
Every encounter wasn’t without her kicking him, splashing water, or being hostile, wishing to beat him up, and with Keane Lowell backing her, he wouldn’t dare to give her trouble.
However.
He was aware that Claire was standing up for Zara Leighton, which is why she behaved that way towards him.
"She’s good at medicine; I once intended to invite her to my place, but she refused."
"The doctors and nurses from your hospital just sought her help, indicating your hospital’s treatment for healthcare professionals isn’t good. Her refusal was correct."
The remark instantly rendered Milton Rivers speechless.
Indeed.
She was a lady of the Prescott Family, lacking nothing, why bother with hardships?
But.
"Being a doctor is a tough profession, no matter where she is."
Finn wasn’t interested in debating these matters, he pulled the blanket and lay back on the bed, his attitude indifferent.
Milton Rivers wisely responded, "Then I won’t disturb Young President Prescott, rest well."
...
...
Claire Prescott entered the house through the side door.
At the house entrance, she smelled ginger and mugwort mixed together.
Once inside.
She saw her grandmother busy in the kitchen.
"Grandma, I’m back," Claire called out.
"Are you hungry? Lunch is almost ready."
"I’ll go upstairs to take a shower first."
"Go ahead."
However, after Claire showered and came downstairs, she immediately saw a man standing there.
As he turned his head, Claire hesitated, "Why are you here?"
Before Chase Chambers could explain, Septima came out with dishes from the kitchen, "I called him home; this child is covered in rashes. I felt sorry for him, so I made a bath of water full of herbs for him to soak in. He just said after soaking it doesn’t itch anymore."
Claire came down from the staircase.
Her grandmother had met Chase before.
It was from back when she was severely injured and unconscious, knowing Chase got hurt saving her.
Her grandmother was always kind to those who helped or treated her well; she didn’t expect her grandmother to remember him after so many years.
She approached and looked at Chase’s arm, "It seems indeed much better."
Chase replied: "Yes, the itching is gone, thanks to you both."
Claire withdrew her gaze and then noticed the old traditional Chinese medicine doctor strolling back, upon seeing Chase, the doctor naturally lifted his hand to check, "Much better. Sit down and join us for a meal."
Claire turned towards the kitchen to help clean the dishes and scooped the rice into bowls, bringing them out and sitting beside Chase.
Septima was warmly hospitable, using shared chopsticks to serve him dishes, "Since you’re just recovering, eat something light." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"Thank you, Granny."
"No need to thank us, feel free to grab what you want to eat."
"Okay."
The old medicine doctor remained silent, sitting beside Claire and eating quietly.
After a moment’s silence, he asked Claire, "How’s Finn doing?"
Claire lowered her gaze and replied: "His condition improved a bit today, he should be able to leave by tomorrow or the day after."
