Capturing the Young Doctor's Heart: Mr. Big Shot Won't Let Me Go-Chapter 131: When Has It Not Hurt?
No misunderstanding, no anger, that’s good.
She leaned back in her seat with relief.
Ever since the man got angry last time, whenever Ethan Lancaster was mentioned, her alarm bells would ring, and she didn’t want to have any connection with him.
But thankfully, Young Master Lowell was reasonable.
Just then, a call came in from Tiger.
She picked up her phone to answer: "What’s up?"
On the other end: "Sister Claire, two patients have canceled their appointments this afternoon, and the ones scheduled for next week have also canceled and plan to come directly to Sinclair Apothecary."
Hearing this.
She instinctively turned to look at Keane Lowell, a hunch told her it was his doing, but there was no evidence.
Then, she calmly responded: "Okay, I got it."
After hanging up the phone.
Maybe because he heard it was Tiger calling, the man spoke up: "There’s no need to exhaust yourself with home visits. Twenty times the consultation fee is nothing; your health is most important."
This remark, without a doubt, confirmed it was his doing.
Claire Prescott smiled at him, "Feeling sorry for me?"
"When haven’t I?"
This from his mouth seemed to carry an unusual meaning, plus...
When he looked at her, his deep, bright eyes were filled with warmth and sincere affection, almost overflowing.
Being enveloped in such a gaze, sweet feelings seeped into her heart, making her unable to resist and indulge in them.
Claire Prescott interlocked fingers with him, stifling a laugh, "You’re only six years older than me, yet you talk like an elder, and still..."
Keane Lowell glanced sideways at her, "Still what?"
"Still call me baby... you wouldn’t really be treating me like a child, would you?"
"When did I ever call you baby?"
The man’s magnetic, unique voice carried a hint of an unclear meaning, which Claire Prescott immediately caught.
Yet, naturally, she followed his question and recalled, flashes of scenes passed through her mind, and her heart suddenly warmed up.
She turned her face away, not daring to respond. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Keane Lowell chuckled, remarking, "Not very teasing-resistant."
Claire Prescott retorted unyieldingly, "Every time Young Master Lowell talks nonsense, he’s got to have artistic subtlety, who could possibly withstand that?"
Keane Lowell gave a faint smile, "Only you can understand."
"..." Claire Prescott was momentarily at a loss for words, ultimately losing out to him.
Meanwhile, she ignored the feelings of the driver in the front.
Listening to their conversation, even a grown man like him couldn’t help but let his imagination wander, but he remained focused, safely steering the vehicle.
After a moment of silence.
Keane Lowell asked, "Where would you like to go with the remaining time?"
Claire Prescott thought for a moment and said, "I’d like to find a quiet, serene, and cool place with flowers and trees, just the two of us."
After a brief consideration.
Keane Lowell agreed, "My place would be quite suitable."
Claire Prescott replied, "Then let’s go home."
Subsequently, the driver changed direction at the next junction, heading towards Azure Court.
Arriving home, it was near dusk.
The ground, having been exposed to the sun all day, was emitting rising heat, hot and stuffy, with only some coolness beneath the trees.
In the height of summer, staying at home was indeed the best choice.
Keane Lowell, carrying the documents and holding her hand, led her inside, handing all the notebooks over to her.
Claire Prescott was puzzled, "What are these?"
"Scripts related to traditional Chinese medicine culture. Back then you wanted to go on a show, so I selected a few suitable ones for you."
Claire Prescott was momentarily stunned, unsure how to react.
Sitting on the sofa, she flipped through them one by one.
She found that these were not related to national TV or local interviews, but healthcare infotainment channels, all proper programs, completely different from the entertainment programs Ethan Lancaster once invited her to.
During the cultural heritage meeting back then, Uncle Lee brought the production team to their house, trying to persuade her to join the show, hoping she would try more new things. Yet, what she wanted was for her grandfather and Sinclair Apothecary to gain more visibility.
The reason she let go later was because she didn’t want to get involved in the mess of the entertainment circle, fearing it would backfire, not achieving the desired outcomes and instead causing trouble for Sinclair Apothecary.
Keane Lowell spoke up, "Choose one to participate in, don’t wear yourself out."
Actually.
He had prepared these long ago, and some program plans were specifically tailored for her and Sinclair Apothecary, but seeing her work hard, he thought airing might make things harder, leaving them less time together.
Moreover, he didn’t want more people coveting her once they saw her face, so these documents remained in his office drawer, untouched.
Later, he figured that as long as it was something she wanted to do, he would help her achieve it, supporting her.
Claire Prescott looked at him, moved, "It’s been so long since then, how do you still remember."
With those words.
She suddenly threw herself at him, couldn’t help but hug him, and Keane Lowell embraced her, settling her onto his lap.
Claire Prescott gently said to him, "I’m not so determined to go on a show."
Keane Lowell spoke softly, "No rush to decide now, whether you participate or not is entirely up to you."
Essentially telling her that resources were available to her.
Claire Prescott understood clearly, "If I don’t participate, wouldn’t I be wasting your effort?"
"Not participating is even better."
Claire Prescott found his words contradictory, recalling him saying something similar back then, probably not wanting to see her so exhausted.
And so...
She straightened up, looking directly into those deep, amorous eyes.
From the moment they met again, he had always been gentle and caring. Everyone said he was pure-hearted and unattached to women, and they naturally came together, a question subtly arose, hidden in her heart.
When did he start liking her?
Was it upon seeing her growing up prettier when they reunited, or even...
Or was it when she was still in school?
This question was daring to ask, but even if she didn’t ask, it didn’t seem to matter, as she already felt his love.
Love that was complex, meticulous.
Claire Prescott’s gaze fell gradually on his thin lips, leaning slightly to plant a gentle kiss on his lips.
Closing her eyes softly, she kissed him gradually.
Keane Lowell held her waist tighter, opening his lips to respond.
The young girl was so soft and tempting, he couldn’t help but raise his hand to adjust her collar, seeking a deeper connection.
Thus, in their little world.
Sparing the need to move elsewhere, they continued right there on the sofa.
In a haze of consciousness, Claire Prescott sat on his lap and looked up, meeting Chloe’s screen.
Lost in thought for about two to three seconds, Chloe walked straight towards her from the corner.
The mechanical voice immediately echoed in the living room: "Master, do you have any commands?"
Both were taken aback.
The man’s low, slightly annoyed voice followed.
"Shut down."
