Captured By The Cold Detective (BL)-Chapter 528: He’s Going Feral!
Yi Peizhi burst into the warehouse, having run out of the command car with the Director close on his heels, their breathing uneven. He roughly tore off his earpiece and roared in rage, "Who the fuck fired that shot?! I haven’t given you permission to act yet!!"
Something had gone terribly wrong with the operation. They were supposed to apprehend the Boss of Xuanlong, not to hurt or kill him! However, as he swept his gaze over his team scattered throughout the warehouse, all he received were blank and bewildered stares.
In an instant, Yi Peizhi knew – that one shot had not been fired by them.
But if that was the case, then who?!
Yi Peizhi crossed the spacious area in large strides, and his heart skipped a beat when he spotted the familiar silhouette of XIU hunched over another person who should have been Xuanlong’s Boss, thick blood pooling around their bodies.
Captain Yi came to an abrupt halt upon catching the slightest tremors in XIU’s shoulders. His eyelids twitched, and an ominous premonition coursed through him. He opened his mouth to issue a command, but it was already too late.
A resounding thud reverberated in the hushed space when the officer closest to He Juan, ready to catch him off guard and cuff him, abruptly collapsed to the ground like a marionette with its strings severed. The man twitched once, twice, before going completely still. Blood and brain matters flowed out of his ears as the lights dissipated from his wide eyes, not even knowing how he met his demise.
"....!"
A chilling aura of a superior Alpha descended upon the warehouse. It was as if the very oxygen in the room had transformed into invisible swords that could kill, leaving internal wounds with every breath they took. The officers remained rooted in place, their horrified gaze fixated on the source of this palpable dominance – XIU.
Yi Peizhi’s scalp exploded in numbness. In that crucial moment, he bit down on the inside of his cheek and fought against the invisible restraints holding his body captive.
He sprinted forward, blood surging up in his throat as he gasped, "Hold him down! He’s going feral!"
An uncontrollable chaos erupted. Weaker individuals fell victim to the absolute pressure emitted by the superior Alpha and they died within the span of a single breath. The said Alpha, however, was no longer on the ground. Cradling the lifeless body of his little brother in his arm, He Juan raised his hand that was holding a gun and fired a rapid succession of shots, hitting their marks precisely on the officers pouncing on him. His silver eyes were hollow, his expression cold, his cheeks wet with tears. Oppressive pheromones poured out of him in relentless waves, pressuring the officers so hard that they couldn’t breathe.
It was apparent that he was teetering on the edge of madness.
The Director’s commanding voice boomed from behind the formation, "Shoot him! He’s beyond our control!"
The man held the highest authority in this operation, even more than Captain Yi. With the permission granted, the officers swiftly drew their guns and aimed at He Juan.
It was one man against the whole team.
No matter how capable and formidable he was, XIU would not be able to survive the onslaught of bullets coming his way.
"Wait—!" Yi Peizhi interjected before he could even think. Alas, there was simply nothing he could do in such a situation. He recognized the danger of a feral superior Alpha. In usual cases, they would be incapacitated and immediately sent to the hospital for total isolation. However, the one before them was far from ordinary. He was XIU, the most wanted criminal in the country. In that split second, images of the composed and elegant man flashed through Yi Peizhi’s mind, and he found himself shouting, "XIU, snap out of it, damn it!"
He had no idea what he was doing, but one thing for sure, his observation so far told him that XIU was totally unlike how the public perceived him to be.
Perhaps it was because of their pleasant cooperation, or maybe because Yi Peizhi had started to view this man as a fellow comrade, but he did not want to see He Juan dead.
Alas, it was simply impossible to penetrate the thick haze enveloping He Juan’s mind. His vision was currently shrouded in relentless crimson, and his instinct took everyone as a dire threat to him and his brother. Holding his most precious even closer, he expressed his strong hostility to the vile world.
It’s okay, A–Xie. Everything will be okay. Ge will take care of them for you soon. Just wait for a little longer, and then we can leave.
The muscles in his body strained to their utmost limits, and his senses were heightened to an insane degree. In such a frenzied state, he miraculously evaded the bullets aimed at his vital organs, causing them to graze all over his body instead. However, it was as if He Juan could no longer feel the pain. He aimed his gun at the one who had spoken earlier, their words lost in the whirlwind of his mind. His vacant vaze locked onto another pair, filled with desperation, across the space.
And then, He Juan pulled the trigger.
BANG!
A bullet flew through the air and pierced right into Captain Yi Peizhi’s forehead, blood spurting out like a small fountain. Yi Peizhi’s eyes remained wide in shock and disbelief, blood dribbling down from his lips, as he collapsed to the ground and breathed his last.
The world seemed to halt for a second, before an even bigger uproar exploded.
"Captain—!"
"You motherfucker, I will kill you!!!"
Another officer fired his shot, his eyes ablaze with rage. He Juan could predict the trajectory of the bullet even with his eyes closed. He knew where it would land and how to evade it to protect his vital areas.
Yet all of a sudden, he found himself unable to move an inch. An overwhelming exhaustion weighed down on his limbs like heavy lead, rendering his body immobile. He could only watch with blank eyes as the bullet whizzed through the air toward him.
This is it, he thought as he tightened his grip around He Xie. I’m sorry, A–Xie, but Ge is really, really tired...
