Captured By The Cold Detective (BL)-Chapter 433: Load Of Bullshit
"I’m sorry... I’m so sorry..." he repeated again and again amidst the sobs wracking through his whole body. The weight of his mistake bore down on his weary spirit and the tears flowed uncontrollably, each droplet carrying the burden of his sorrow and remorse.
He Juan could see that the emotions Mo Feng showed were genuine and they had come from the depths of his soul, but it was precisely for that reason that He Juan became even more furious. What was the use of crying? What was the use of grieving when he still chose to run away and hide like a coward for two years? Even if he were to cry his eyes blind... even if he were to squeeze out every drop of blood out of his body, it was still not enough to bring Old Liu and Ma Ping back!
If he still harbored guilt in his heart, the best he could do was never utter their names with his filthy mouth again, or he could just drop dead somewhere and spare He Juan the effort to hunt him down!
With his jaws clenched tight, He Juan roughly shoved the young man away, causing him to tumble to the ground, still weeping his heart out.
Anger, frustration and irritation still burned fiercely under his veins, yet he had lost the outlet to vent his emotions.
All of a sudden, He Juan felt overwhelmingly tired. The mere thought of spending another second in the same room with Mo Feng became unbearable, for it kept reminding him of how Old Liu and Ma Ping’s deaths were the result of a nineteen-year-old teenager’s immature planning, and how he really had to break the vow he had made with his own mouth.
Without sparing Mo Feng another glance, he raked his fingers through his hair and told Marius with a bleak smile, "I think it’s best if I step out now. Can you take over for me, M?"
"Go ahead," Marius clasped his shoulder gently in a gesture of comfort.
As He Juan strode toward the door, he heard Mo Feng’s cries behind him, pleading for forgiveness. "B–Boss, please... forgive me! I know I was wrong! Back then, I... I tried to keep them away from the second floor, but—"
He Juan let out a sharp, cold laugh. "Even now, you’re still making excuses. Why do you beg for my forgiveness when you clearly know that you will not be able to obtain it? To make yourself feel better?" He mocked, venom dripping off each of his words that caused the young man’s complexion to turn pale.
Mo Feng’s choked and ragged sobs echoed ceaselessly in the room, but He Juan pushed the door open with nary a hesitation and walked out, leaving behind a final warning.
"Don’t let me see you again, Mo Feng. The next time I do, it will be your death anniversary."

"Here you are, XIU." Marius showed a relieved smile as he found He Juan leaning against the wall in the bar’s back alley, his silhouette half concealed in the shadows. "Why are you out here? I’ve been searching for you everywhere in the bar."
"It’s too noisy," He Juan replied. "And people kept approaching me right and left. I was afraid that I would not be able to keep myself in check, so I came out here to get some fresh air."
Marius kicked away an empty can of beer on the ground and went to stand beside He Juan. He looked up at the pink neon sign hanging above their heads and suddenly burst into soft chuckles.
"... What’s so funny?" He Juan asked, slightly speechless.
"Well, look at us..." he gestured at the dark and dingy surroundings and shook his head in a mix of pity and amusement. "Isn’t this the perfect time and place for a smoke? Too bad neither of us are smokers, so we will just have to stand here like fools."
The corner of He Juan’s lips tugged into a smile at Marius’ playful remark. "You’re right, I would really appreciate a smoke right now, but I know that I will not be able to savor it." He sighed and asked, "Where is Little Miss Ye?"
"Don’t worry, she’s in the car."
He Juan let out a low hum, his gaze lowered. Just then, a couple of people dressed in trendy and revealing clothes walked by, sneaking glances at the two attractive and eye-catching Alphas. Some even catcalled them, to which Marius responded with a polite and apologetic smile. Perhaps it was the low pressure He Juan exuded, none of them actually dared to approach. It was not until they entered the bar through the back door that He Juan spoke again,
"I’m sorry to let you see such an unsightly scene," He Juan released a deep sigh and pinched his brows. "In the end, I still lost control of myself. I thought I was better than this."
"Don’t blame yourself," Marius said. He Juan raised his head to see a serious glint in the man’s oceanic blue eyes. "You handled it very well. I don’t think I could have remained as composed in your position."
He Juan shook his head, a mirthless chuckle escaping his lips. He knew that Marius was just saying it to console him. How could He Juan possibly be better than him? This was Marius Morningstar they were talking about.
"You didn’t believe me, did you?" Marius huffed softly. However he did not try to convince He Juan any further and chose to relay everything he had heard from Mo Feng instead.
As it turned out, the young man was truly foolish and reckless. Finding Blue Lotus at the Queen of Spades that day had been a total coincidence, and because he had his own suspicion toward the man, he had kept a close eye on him.
It was then that he accidentally caught sight of Ye Qiu.
Having encountered his fair share of experimented people in the past, he had developed quite an accurate radar. As soon as he saw Ye Qiu’s vigilant demeanor which did not suit her young age, he immediately had a strong inkling about her identity. And it was further proven when she hurriedly ran out of the bar moments later, carrying the faint scent of blood on her.
A plan had instantly formed in his head – extremely risky, but still worth a try nonetheless. He faked a stomachache to deceive Ma Ping and Huang Zhiyan, who were with him at the hotel, and rushed back to the bar. He disassembled his gun and created a simple bomb on the spot, complete with a timer that he could activate once He Juan stepped into the room.
He Juan almost could not believe his ears when he heard that. He barked out an incredulous laugh, "He wished to kill me with a plan he’d conjured up a few hours prior? What a grand dream." It was no wonder that everything went haywire and he ended up killing more people by accident.
"Forget it," he shook his head, no longer wanting to dwell on the accident two years ago. Blue Lotus was already dead, Ye Qiu and the children were safe, and Mo Feng... he was already dead in He Juan’s eyes either way. There was nothing more he could do but to leave the past behind. "What about the facility in Yuyang? The new one he mentioned?"
"He has provided the address for the old facility. As for the new one..." Marius shook his head. "He’s still searching for it, but he has a lead so we might receive good news soon. Don’t worry, I will keep an eye on him so he can’t get up to anything funny again. On the other hand, you..." a slight hesitation flickered in his eyes before he continued, "The sponsor he was talking about... it has something to do with your organization, so I can’t ask much."
"Ha, what a load of bullshit..." He Juan let out a furious laugh. "How can Xuanlong be involved in this whole fiasco? The main reason it is built in the first place is to protect omega’s rights in the country, so tell me, M. How could it possibly have any ties to the omega trafficking organization?" He Juan shook his head, as he grew angrier the more he thought of Mo Feng’s accusation.
This was no longer He Juan’s protectiveness toward his own organization speaking. What Mo Feng did was a defamation to the very foundation of Xuanlong itself, and it was an unforgivable act in He Juan’s eyes — perhaps even more than his betrayal.
"We can’t even ascertain if it’s all nonsense he has made up on the spot. But well, let me look into it, even though I don’t hold much hope to begin with." He snorted in incredulity. "Did he not just suspect me, of all people?"
