Captured By The Cold Detective (BL)-Chapter 123: Gege Will Start Now
Mu Yuze’s prediction was right. By the time they reached the peak of the mountain, it was already dusk and a gorgeous hue of gold, pink and purple made a streak across the darkening sky, illuminated by the warm glow of the setting sun. Such a glorious scene was more than enough to seize anyone’s breath away.
Cozy yellow lights spilled out of the restaurant atop of the treehouse. Because they were fairly early for dinner, it was not crowded yet and He Juan decisively chose the best table which showcased the most beautiful scenery for his omega. They were so high in the mountain it was as if they could touch the sky if they reached out. Mu Yuze was so in awe that he did not pay any attention to his footing, leaving He Juan to protectively lead him along the way.
He dragged the chair and carefully led Mu Yuze to sit down on it, and only then did he take a seat opposite the omega. "Beautiful, isn’t it?" He Juan rested his chin on his palm, smiling. And even though he said that, his gaze had never strayed away from the man in front of him.
"Mn," thinking that he was talking about the scenery, Mu Yuze nodded in agreement. He squinted at the slumbering sun with a faraway look on his face. "It’s so beautiful..."
He Juan stared at him for one long moment, mesmerized. Had he ever said how gorgeous Mu Yuze was under the sunset? Yes or no, it did not make any difference because he was going to emphasize it once again. He suddenly understood how Patroclus felt when he was looking at Achilles for the first time – the beautiful, mesmerizing boy that was like the sun. Striking and everlasting. There was a dazzling gleam in Mu Yuze’s dark eyes that were akin to precious jewels swathed in the afterglow of dusk, and the mere sight of them set He Juan’s heart ablaze.
He recalled what Mu Yuze had whispered to him earlier and his heart burned even wilder. He Juan exhaled a scorching breath. Oh no... how was he supposed to go through the rest of the day like this?! Not for the first time, He Juan lamented how weak and defenseless he was toward any word or action from the omega. Goodness, this was quickly driving him insane!
Fortunately, before He Juan could do or say anything stupid like directly going down on his knees to propose, the waiter came and rescued him from the predicament.
He Juan heaved a sigh of relief as he handed the menu over to Mu Yuze. "Here, if you’re not hungry, eat something light to pad your stomach first. Gege will buy you some midnight snacks later, okay?" The tail end of his tone was filled with doting mirth.
Mu Yuze snuck a glance toward the waiter who pretended as if he heard nothing before taking the menu from He Juan without any notable expression on his face save for the flush on the shell of his earlobes. Unexpectedly, hearing Juan-gege dote on him in front of other people felt... very addicting. He nibbled on his lips and trained his gaze seriously on the menu, giving it a close scrutiny as if it was a work report.
At first, He Juan had worried that their date would end up badly for there were just too many unstable factors, such as the weather that could suddenly turn bad, or the food that was not as delicious as how the reviews made them out to be. But after the appetizers came out and He Juan took the first taste, he realized that he had been thinking too much.
The weather was perfectly fine, the food was ravishing and mouth-watering and Mu Yuze... the gorgeous and happy Mu Yuze was the main highlight of them all. Everything had been going so smoothly that He Juan would sometimes pinch his arm to convince himself that this was not a dream.
A romantic dinner with the beautiful sunset as the roof together with the omega he liked, this scene was literally one straight out of He Juan’s fantasy. The first date he had been arranging for days had wrapped up beautifully. He Juan felt so blissful that he could not ask for more.
Fearing that they would be stuck in evening traffic, He Juan and Mu Yuze decided to return soon after they had finished with the dinner. By the time they left the mountainous range and entered Yuyang City, the night was deep and twinkling lights scattered over the skyscrapers.
He Juan saw that they had almost entered Mu Yuze’s resident area and cleared his throat, asking, "Xiao Ze do you need me to buy something...?"
Mu Yuze had been leaning softly on the seat, his gaze half-lidded with laziness. He had been too carried away earlier and ate too much and He Juan’s driving was so stable that he could not help but feel drowsy. However, hearing He Juan’s question, any traces of sleepiness evaporated and he instantly straightened up. Heat crawled up to his cheeks, especially when he recalled the audacious things he had whispered into He Juan’s ears earlier during the day. He cleared his throat and pretended to fiddle with the orchids in his arms. "No, there’s no need... I have everything at home."
He Juan’s lashes trembled and he almost stepped on the accelerator by accident. Fortunately, he held himself back in time and prevented an accident from happening. Throat bobbing nervously, he had no idea what to say except, "Oh, okay..." 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
The lazy and tranquil atmosphere was suddenly charged with tension and ambiguity by He Juan’s low whisper. The two of them stayed silent along the way, yet it seemed like there was a subtle undercurrent brewing underneath, filled with strange anticipation and thrill.
When the car finally halted in front of Mu Yuze’s house, He Juan silently turned off the engine, undid the seatbelt and got down from the car. Not giving Mu Yuze any chance to react, he rounded the car and opened the door.
"What are you—" Mu Yuze’s question had not even fully left his mouth yet when He Juan suddenly bent down to scoop him up in his arms. Mu Yuze let out a surprised gasp when his feet dangled in midair. He instinctively held onto He Juan’s shoulders for leverage whilst keeping the bouquet safe in his cradle. His dark eyes were rounded in shock as he stared at the Alpha’s gorgeous side profile. "G–Gege?"
The corner of He Juan’s lips tugged into a smile. He shifted slightly in order to support Mu Yuze’s weight with one arm while the other hand reached out to open the gate.
Only when they entered Mu Yuze’s lawn did he finally cast the omega a mirthful yet seductively wicked glance. "Hmm... if I am not wrong, a certain someone has asked me to pamper him as much as I please. Is that right?" When he saw Mu Yuze’s stunned look and the rapidly spreading flush on his cheeks, He Juan’s smile became bright enough to light up the whole city. "Get ready, Precious. Gege will start now."
