Captured By The Cold Detective (BL)-Chapter 109: Hurry Up

"Ehem!" Jia Molei cleared his throat loudly to announce that there was still a big living person inside the car. He was not a ghost whose presence could be ignored!

However, Er Meilin, this audacious secretary, knew that Jia Molei was nothing but a paper tiger who only looked scary on the outside but actually a huge softie inside. She pretended as if she heard nothing and urged the answer from He Juan, "What do you say, Mr. He? Movie theater, aquarium or museum? I am very good at everything."

"Akh– ehem!" Jia Molei coughed harder, almost hacking his lungs out.

Beside him, Su Xieren cast him a disdainful glance and pressed open the car window to let the fresh air in.

Unable to ignore the eyesore anymore, Er Meilin turned to the passenger seat and rolled her big beautiful eyes in an exaggerated circle toward Jia Molei. "Doctor Jia, do you need me to stop by the pharmacy to buy a cough drop for you?" The sarcasm in her tone could not be more obvious.

"No, there’s no need." Jia Molei answered humbly. "It’s just that the air smelled very bad for a second there. I almost thought that someone had farted." Then he suddenly turned to Su Xieren with a fake angry look on his face. "Damn it, it’s you, right?! Did you just fart? No wonder you suddenly opened the window!"

Er Meilin: "..."

Su Xieren: "...Fart your ass."

Veins throbbed on Jia Molei’s forehead as he bared his teeth at Su Xieren. "Say it again?"

He Juan could not resist laughing at their bickering.

This was not the first time Er Meilin had asked him out on a date. At first, He Juan was feeling bad and had no idea how to refuse her so that it would not affect her work relationship with Jia Molei. But gradually, he came to realize that Er Meilin did not show regret or hurt whatsoever at his rejection. She was just teasing him! Since then, He Juan did not take her proposal to heart anymore.

This time, too, he could just brush Er Meilin off like he usually did. Yet for some reason, He Juan’s tongue was itchy and he could not help but inform her in delight, "I’m very sorry, Miss Er. In case you haven’t known yet, I am currently pursuing an Omega so I can’t take you on a date."

"You’re– what?!" Er Meilin and Jia Molei cried out in unison, shocked.

"Oh my!" Er Meilin gasped loudly and covered her mouth, her eyes glimmering with interest. "Which lucky Omega have caught Mr. He’s heart?"

At the same time, Jia Molei also cursed, "Which motherfucker hole does that Omega crawl out from?!" Then recalling something, he threw a razor-sharp glare at He Juan. "Is it that Omega? That police officer who is stuck to you like glue?!"

Er Meilin became more excited when she heard that. "So it’s a police officer?! Cool!"

"You shut your damn mouth for me!" Jia Molei snapped harshly at her.

He Juan’s brows furrowed and he chided by reflex. "Molei, language."

Jia Molei clicked his jaws shut, but he still glowered at He Juan, clearly awaiting for an answer. He Juan only felt helpless in his heart. He did not expect that Jia Molei would react so strongly. Why did he dislike Mu Yuze so much in the first place? Unfortunately, He Juan had set his heart on Mu Yuze and no one would be able to tell him otherwise. So he met Jia Molei’s glare through the windshield mirror and admitted honestly, "Indeed, it is him."

Before Jia Molei could open his mouth and say anything bad about Mu Yuze, He Juan added with all sincerity he could muster. "I have no idea why you despise him so much, Molei, but I like him. I really, really like him. I have decided to mate with him in the future and I hope that... you will be able to give us your blessing. After all, you’re my bestest friend..."

Heavy silence reigned in the car. Er Meilin carefully kept her mouth shut, albeit her eyes kept darting back and forth between He Juan and Jia Molei in palpable fervor and excitement.

Amidst the tension, Su Xieren suddenly snapped at the red-haired and tattoo-ed doctor, "He likes that omega, so just let him chase. Why are you such a busybody? In the future, are you going to be responsible if he has some unspeakable regrets? Are you his mother?!"

Jia Molei ground his molar, so agitated that his breathing turned harsh. He was akin to a beast on the verge of exploding. A curse was hanging on the tip of his tongue, ready to slip off at any moment. However, recalling what Su Xieren had just gone through, he did not have the heart to say it out loud and could only swallow the anger back to his stomach.

He Juan really did not know the reason why his doctor reacted like this. In his opinion, Jia Molei must be acting like this because he had misunderstood something. Mu Yuze might appear detached, cold and even quite arrogant at a glance, but deep down he was actually very lovable. He only needed to let Jia Molei see past that exterior and he would definitely like Mu Yuze too!

In his mind, He Juan had already planned several outings where he could give Jia Molei and Mu Yuze a chance to get to know each other better. He sincerely wished for them to get along, simply because they were the two most important people in his life.

In the end, Jia Molei swallowed whatever words he was going to say and turned his head away with a loud harrumph. "Well, do whatever suits you then!"

He Juan knew that it was a sign that Jia Molei was stepping down and hence, he did not say anything more. There was no use talking about Mu Yuze right now. He only needed to show how adorable the omega could be in the future to make Jia Molei change his mind! Decision made, He Juan let himself relax and drove the car smoothly until they arrived in a marketplace.

It was evening and the area was bustling with people. Smells of food rushed to their nose as soon as they rolled the window down, followed by the cacophony of sellers promoting their stalls as well as booming laughter and conversation from guests who were enjoying their meal. The atmosphere was very lively and boisterous.

He Juan parked in an empty spot and stared at the crowd, feeling an oncoming headache on his skull. "Miss... what is her name again?"

"Ye Lingya." Er Meilin interjected in a timely manner.

"That’s right, Mies Ye Lingya. She is living here...?"

He Juan disliked the crowd for their noises. More often than not, the chaotic atmosphere would make him feel discomfort to some degrees. It was even worse for Jia Molei and Su Xieren, who had mild mysophobia. Only Er Meilin was not affected at all. She undo her seatbelt, opened the door then stepped down the car in her high heels. "No, we still need to walk a little further ahead. It’s just past this marketplace. Because the road is too narrow, we can only walk there."

After saying that, she was surprised to find that the three big boys were still sitting unmoving inside the car. Arching a perfectly beautiful brow, she beckoned, "Hurry up. What are you guys waiting for?"
