Captive Mate BL-Chapter 641: - - -
When Jael was right next to the captive, it was easy to figure out that it was a young Alpha. He was filthy and injured and seemed to have been trapped here for a good long while.
"Where is your boss?" Jael broke the tense silence, crouching down next to the Alpha to cut off his bonds.
He took out a pocket knife, the ropes were old and scratchy, burning bruises onto his thin wrists.
At the door, Tony had gone completely pale, his eyes rolling back in his head from fear. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
The scrawny Beta wouldn’t dare to speak to Jael directly, so he kept his lips clamped, glaring darkly at Rae, who was putting on quite the show right in front of them.
"That’s him! That’s fucking Rae!" Nash snarled hatefully, beady eyes glinting with the strength of his emotions. He wanted nothing more than to cross the room and strangle the life out of the two-timing, evil Alpha.
Jael just leveled them a look, not only was this teenager tied up, injured, and malnourished. He was also too young to be the boss of these weathered old men.
"Don’t fuck with me," He said lightly, but it was enough to make the other three jump.
There were tears in Rae’s eyes, his lips split and bloody. "Please don’t leave me here," He begged weakly, his voice scratchy.
Jael frowned, realizing for the first time that he had to do something about the captive Alpha, and he couldn’t just cut his bonds and be free of him.
At his limit, Nash stormed across the room, "Youu fucking bitch! You-"
At his outburst, Rae clung to Jael’s leg, cowering. "N-No! P-Please, don’t..."
Jael didn’t wait for him to get any closer, dropping the outraged Alpha in a swift move. He wasn’t a hero, but he really didn’t like the parallels his mind kept making.
Even though Nash was dead, bleeding out on the ground, Rae didn’t let go of Jael’s leg, a beautiful smile on his face as he looked over at the other two still trembling at the door.
Jael was displeased now, this had turned out to be a huge disappointment, and it had saddled him with extra trouble.
His gun went off two more times before the other two could recover enough to make a run for it, holstering his gun to take out his phone.
"Send some men over," He gave out orders, tolerating the shivering kid still clinging to him. "There’s a hostage, take him to get treated and keep him in a safe house."
Rae listened intently to Jael’s orders, silent protest in his eyes at this turn of events. He had gotten lucky this time, if he lost this chance, he would never get it back.
Jael hung up and paid attention to the Alpha by his feet, "You’ll be out of here soon," He reassured him blandly. "How did you get here? Got any family around?"
Rae shook his head, "I don’t. Don’t leave, please don’t leave." He begged, his voice bitterly pitiful.
Jael frowned, he knew nothing about the kid, he couldn’t take him along, but he also couldn’t bring himself to leave him.
Rae held on tighter, holding his breath as he waited to see what Jael would do next, not wanting to overdo it. When Jael moved slightly, he reluctantly scrambled to his feet, only to immediately go over, lightheaded from holding his breath.
Jael caught the Alpha as he passed out, brows furrowed above his dark glasses. The kid weighed nothing, blood getting on him as the scent of burnt vanilla beans washed over him.
He cursed, the kid was completely passed out and didn’t seem to be waking up anytime soon. Digging up information about the Alpha was easy, and if there was anything sketchy about him, he would just get rid of him.
It was strange to have someone desperately throw themselves at him with abandon. People were either terrified of him or treated him with respect, there was no in-between, save for a few exceptions.
This clingy Alpha was the first of his kind, there had been no fear. He had simply looked up to him as a savior.
Jael looked him over, deep in thought. Was it possible that the kid didn’t even know who he was?
While unconscious, he looked even younger and frailer, it made Jael sigh, knowing that he had already unwittingly made a choice.
He picked up the Alpha with ease, striding out of the shabby apartment. His car was still waiting out front, men already showing up.
Jael opened the door of the back seat and placed the grimy Alpha on his spotless leather. The kid was still out cold and didn’t seem to be coming to anytime soon.
"The boss of the gang is still at large," He said to the men who rallied around him, waiting for orders.
No one mentioned anything about the hostage they had been told about, clearly seeing the second-in-command deal with that himself.
"Find him, as well as the other members of this rag-tag gang," Jael concluded, getting into his car.
It was still late in the afternoon, but he couldn’t return to the club right away. He would take the kid to the mansion, have him checked up, and when he woke up, he would figure out what to do with him.
After handing out orders, he drove off, driving uncharacteristically gently so he didn’t throw his injured passenger off the backseat.
Jael cursed under his breath repeatedly as he drove to the mansion, wondering why the fuck he was going through the trouble, it wasn’t like him at all.
But he couldn’t help but notice that he was too occupied by the stray dog he had picked up to be tormented by the packs of smokes in his car’s console. Maybe he should take up philantrophy, it could be his new coping mechanism.
By the time he drove through the gates, he had started to get a little worried. The Alpha in the backseat hadn’t roused the entire drive here, lying unsettlingly still.
