Captain of the Pirates: My Fleet's Limitless Upgrading-Chapter 35: A Prison of Sorcery, Leo Gives In
Bang!
A strange magic energy wave hit, and Leo and Elyse made a special soul contract.
But he was the master, and had complete control.
"Uhhm..."
A soft sigh, the pain in her fingers made Elyse wake up.
She opened her eyes, confused, in pain, and struggled to sit up from the table.
Then she remembered what had happened, her eyes widened, and anger rose in her. She glared at Leo in hate.
"Fuck! Bastard, I’ll kill you!" She screamed loudly, and jumped at Leo.
But then a sharp pain hit her lower body, and she stumbled, falling to the ground.
Leo instinctively reached out to grab her.
"Get away!" Elyse shouted, pushing him away, falling to the ground, and tears rolled down her eyes.
Leo calmed down, raised the scroll in his hand, and said with a bit of pride, "Elyse, you’re my slave now. You better listen, or I’ll humiliate you."
"What!" Elyse’s chest was rising and falling quickly, she coughed up some blood. She finally realized she and Leo were both naked, and she was extremely angry and embarrassed.
She quickly picked up the torn dress on the floor and threw it over herself.
Leo continued, "Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you. Let me go, and you can still be the princess."
"Daydreaming, do you think this dirty trick can control me?" Elyse bit her teeth and cursed.
Dirty?
Leo was speechless. He was just returning the same way she treated him. All of this was her own fault.
He was about to speak when he suddenly felt something strange. Elyse was giving off a strange magic energy, and she had blocked the master-slave contract.
"What’s going on?" Leo’s face changed slightly. He had made master-slave contracts with Barnett and Solomon before, but this had never happened.
"Hmph!" Elyse sneered, and coldly said, "I’m a Psychic. Do you think this contract can control me?"
Psychic?
Leo was confused. He had only heard of mages and warriors, and never heard of a Psychic.
He clearly felt the soul connection with Elyse was blocked, but not completely broken.
Elyse’s face was pale. Her Psychic power was too weak to fully break the contract, but it was enough to stop Leo from controlling her.
"Princess, what’s wrong?"
Suddenly, Cynthia’s voice came from the door. She had just sent the woman away and came back.
No good!
Leo’s face changed slightly. He wanted to run, but the door opened right after, and Cynthia appeared at the door. She saw the messy room and Elyse, who was not dressed properly.
"Princess!" She gasped, and even someone slow would realize what had happened.
"Damn you, I’ll kill you!" Cynthia shouted, pulled out her sword from her waist, and ran at Leo.

[Bip, Danger approaching]
The warning message appeared, but it was completely useless.
Cynthia was really strong. Leo only saw a flash of cold light, and it came at him fast. He didn’t even have time to dodge.
"Wait!" Elyse cried out, trying to stop Cynthia.
But she was too fast. The sword pierced Leo’s chest, but it didn’t hit any organs.
"Princess, let me kill him for you!" Cynthia said coldly, and her sword didn’t move.
Elyse took a deep breath, trying to control her anger. Her face went back to its usual calm and confident look, but her chest was still rising and falling.
She bit her lip and said, "First, lock him up in the death cell. No one is allowed to come near him. Also, find me a clean dress and clean this place up. Nothing can leave this room."
"Yes!" Cynthia said, then picked up the robe on the floor and threw it to Leo. "Put on your clothes and come with me!"
Leo sighed in his heart, and had no choice but to do as he was told.
He thought that by making a servant contract with Elyse, he could get rid of her. But he didn’t expect she was a Psychic, and wasn’t afraid of soul contracts.
At least, she didn’t seem to want to kill him right away. Maybe there was still a chance.
Cynthia dragged Leo roughly to the death cell.
Elyse sat in a wooden tub, and tears ran down her face. She wanted to kill Leo with her bare hands, but for some reason, she couldn’t bring herself to do it.
That wasn’t like her.
"I’ll kill you once I figure out how to make that powder!" She said through her teeth, and decided to get dressed. She tried to ignore the pain in her lower body and returned to her usual strong and proud look.
That night, Elyse ordered her men to completely surround Leo’s house and put Anna and the others under house arrest.
At the same time, Barnett and Solomon were locked up in the capital research department to work on the powder.
Two days had passed without any progress. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
"Princess.’ Cynthia entered the room and spoke carefully.
Elyse hadn’t left her room for two days.
"Report.’ she said in a cold voice, showing no emotion at all.
Cynthia quickly said, "Barnett and Solomon can’t make the powder that explodes and shoots iron balls."
Elyse raised her eyebrows slightly and said coldly, "Are they just not knowing, or are they just not willing to make it?"
"They probably don’t know. I used some methods, but didn’t get anything out of them.’ Cynthia said, looking at her. "Princess, Ava and Anna might know something. Should we force them?"
Elyse shook her head. "Wait two more days. If they still can’t make it, we’ll think of other ways."
She was quick and even a bit harsh, but she wasn’t completely cruel. She didn’t want to force Ava and the others.
"Got it.’ Cynthia said and bowed before leaving.
Two more days passed, and the research department still hadn’t found anything.
They found a replacement—Alchemist-made fire spells.
But that stuff was too expensive. It was impossible to use it in a war.
"Is it really only that bastard who can make it?" Elyse said through her teeth. Every time she thought about what happened that night, she felt ashamed and angry. She wanted to kill him.
But she had to control her anger just to get the powder.
"Once I get the powder, I’ll kill him!"
Elyse promised herself and looked at Cynthia, then said, "Go to the death cell and tell Leo he has two choices: make the powder, or die."
Her voice was so cold, it was definitely not a joke.
"Yes.’ Cynthia looked at her, then bowed and left.
Dark dungeon.
Leo was lying on the straw, his legs crossed, a dry grass in his mouth, looking really relaxed.
This was the death cell, but since Elyse had ordered it, no guards dared to bother him. He actually had a pretty easy time.
But he couldn’t stay here forever. He was thinking about how to get out.
Creak.
The iron door outside opened, letting in a little light. Cynthia appeared, still as sharp as ever, but her eyes were full of murder.
Leo suddenly felt a chill. Was this woman here to kill him?
He quickly got up from the straw, and was happy to see the warning message didn’t show up. So it wasn’t time to die.
Cynthia looked at him coldly, didn’t waste words, and said, "The princess said you have two choices. Make the powder, or I’ll send you to hell."
"Fuck, is this woman really that cold-hearted? She just took her clothes off and forgot about you?" Leo muttered under his breath.
Cynthia suddenly pulled out her sword. A sharp sound, and the cold tip of the blade pointed straight at Leo. She gritted her teeth and said coldly, "If you say one more word, I’ll kill you right now!"
"Don’t get so angry.’ Leo said with an awkward smile. "I can help you make the powder, but there’s one condition. I need Ava, Biggy, and others to help me."
He was thinking about how to escape. He had a plan, but he needed some people around him.
"Fine, I’ll tell the princess.’ Cynthia said coldly, didn’t stay long, and walked away.
...
In the evening, Leo left the dungeon.
The last light of the sun hit him, making him feel like he was in a different world.
"Stop looking. Let’s go.’ Cynthia pulled him roughly into a carriage. She didn’t take him back to his old house, but to a mountain outside Kano City.
This was the research department of the Kano Kingdom, where they studied all kinds of weapons and tools. It was a forbidden place, guarded by heavy troops, and no one could get close.
Leo was brought to a small courtyard. Ava, the other women, Biggy, Barnett, and others were all there.
"Leo!"
They came to meet him happily, especially Ava. Her eyes still had tears, like she had been crying.
They were all relieved when they saw Leo was safe.
"Sir, why are you so messed up?" Ava was worried, and glared at Cynthia.
Leo smiled and ruffled her head. "It’s nothing. Just had to stay in a cell for a few days."
"Don’t waste time. The princess gave you three days to make the powder. Tell me what materials you need." Cynthia said coldly.
Anna was annoyed and said angrily, "Hey, we’re not Elyse’s slaves. Let us go."
Cynthia ignored her, just stared at Leo with a bad look.
He smiled and said, "I’ll do my best. First, get us the materials for the powder. Charcoal, Flamestone, red iron ore, copper ore, and big canvas. The bigger the better."
"Canvas?" Cynthia frowned, suspiciously looking at him.
Leo explained, "The canvas used to make sails on ships."
Cynthia obviously knew what that was. She said unkindly, "Do you want to build a big ship and run away?"
Leo was speechless. "Do you think there’s a place here that can sail a ship?"
Cynthia looked at the vast mountain, where monsters and beasts roamed. There were heavy troops around, and it was still far from the sea. A big ship would be useless.
She thought she was overthinking it, and sneered, "I don’t think you have the skills to do that. Unless you have wings, you’ll never escape."
Leo just smiled and didn’t say anything.
"The materials you need will be here tomorrow morning.’ Cynthia said, and left without staying, telling the soldiers to watch the place closely and stop anyone from leaving.
