Chapter 718: Chapter 719: Take it, take it all!

Once their business was concluded and they had a simple meal, Gu Anxi departed with Shen Congwen and Old Master Bo. Surprisingly, Bo Qing also emerged, all by himself.

Just as Gu Anxi was about to start the car, she saw Bo Qing standing beside it.

She silently brushed her fingers over the steering wheel, not uttering a word. It was Old Master Bo, sitting beside her and feeling somewhat uneasy, who spoke first, "Does Bo Qing like you?"

Gu Anxi glanced sideways at him, then opened the car door and stepped out. The old freeloader immediately wanted to get out as well, but Shen Congwen spoke faintly from the back seat, "Let Anxi handle this herself."

Old Master Bo grumbled discontentedly, "So we’re just going to let her meet that Bo Qing fellow like this?"

"If Anxi were to have anything with him, it would have happened long ago. Why would she still be with Professor Bo?" Shen Congwen said quietly.

Old Master Bo retorted, still unconvinced, "Listening to you, one would think her character is excellent."

"Excellent character?" Shen Congwen chuckled. "That depends on who you ask. I dare say that in a month, Bo Qing definitely won’t think Anxi’s character is so good."

Old Master Bo’s eyes lit up, and he wanted to press further, but Shen Congwen was no longer willing to speak.

「Nearby, the night had deepened.」

Gu Anxi quietly walked up to Bo Qing. "We’ve eaten, and the favor has been rendered. Is there anything else?"

Bo Qing gazed at her, his voice hoarse. "Aren’t you willing to return?"

"Return where?" Gu Anxi asked lightly. "To the Dark?"

Bo Qing narrowed his eyes. "I can relinquish certain things." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

Gu Anxi looked down, idly kicking at a nonexistent pebble on the ground, and merely chuckled. "Master, you do me too much honor, but I can’t accept it."

"Gu Anxi!" This time, Bo Qing’s voice carried a commanding tone. "You know perfectly well that even if Bo Xichen obtained that sample, he couldn’t create the interception system. Beicheng will still be under my control."

Hearing this, Gu Anxi merely smiled, slowly tucking her hands into her pockets before replying, "Whether you’re the one in charge or not makes no difference to me. It’s just that..."

She lowered her head. "If anyone around me is harmed because of you, then... we can only be irreconcilable enemies."

With that, she walked back to the car, pulled open the door, and got in.

Bo Qing stood there, silently watching as Gu Anxi started the engine and slowly drove away.

Old Master Bo asked softly, "Feeling down?"

"Not really." After a moment’s thought, Gu Anxi tossed the check to Old Master Bo. "Here, take this for pocket money."

Old Master Bo stared at the check for one hundred million US dollars as if he’d been struck by something. Now he finally understood why everyone in the Bo family adored her.

Who wouldn’t like to be showered with money?

Gu Anxi drove, her expression somewhat glum. Old Master Bo had learned to read her face; when her little face tensed, his old one did too, in perfect sync.

Finally, she dropped Shen Congwen off at his home and then returned to her own, with Old Master Bo, the freeloader, in tow. He couldn’t help but ask, "You and Bo Qing were close before, weren’t you? He seems quite hung up on you."

"Not particularly." Holding the steering wheel with one hand and propping her small head with the other, Gu Anxi replied, "It was just an ordinary master-disciple relationship."

Clearly, Old Master Bo didn’t quite believe her. Since when were ordinary master-disciple relationships so... clingy?

He kept glancing at Gu Anxi. Sensing her bad mood, Old Master Bo felt that deep down, this little rascal still cared for Bo Qing. After all, isn’t there a saying: ’A teacher for a day is a father for life’?

"You’re overthinking things," Gu Anxi said lightly as she parked the car. "I’m just thinking about how to earn more money. As for Bo Qing, I think Song Jia would be quite suitable for him."

Old Master Bo: ...

Gu Anxi opened the car door and got out. When she arrived at the Orchid Room, her Little Uncle hadn’t returned yet, so she checked the data.

’Da Hui’ had real-time global box office earnings of 1.3 billion.

’Speed 9’ had real-time box office earnings of 1.03 billion.

It was a true battle of titans. After trending for a full day, predictions about the final box office performance of the two blockbusters were still pouring in.

Perhaps swayed by public opinion, ’Speed 9’ was the predicted winner. The platform Cat’s Eye forecasted that ’Speed 9’ would become the year’s box office champion. This was mainly because ’Da Hui’, being a heartwarming, niche animated film, would find it difficult to truly compete against a commercial blockbuster like ’Speed 9’.

Gu Anxi glanced at these predictions but didn’t pay them much mind. She was more concerned about the reviews for ’Da Hui’. Clearly, on all major platforms, ’Da Hui’ consistently had higher ratings than ’Speed 9’.

She then checked the screening schedules for the next day. They showed equal allocations for both films, implying that many industry insiders still had high hopes for ’Speed 9’.

Propping her chin on her hand, Gu Anxi thought about the one hundred million US dollars, then reconsidered.

She still had to leverage her Little Uncle! Her Little Uncle was Da Hui. If he became famous, Da Hui would become famous too.

She immediately contacted Chen Shu, the photographer who had previously shot their magazine cover. Chen Shu was very surprised to receive her call and, after hearing her idea, was both shocked and thrilled.

Chen Shu exclaimed, "A photoshoot? Wonderful! I’ll arrange it immediately!"

After hanging up, Gu Anxi flopped down and started giggling quietly to herself. When Bo Xichen came home, he found her still chuckling foolishly.

Loosening his tie, he sat down beside her and patted her. "What are you giggling about now?"

She rolled over and knelt beside him, whispering, "Little Uncle, would you be willing to sacrifice everything for me?"

Bo Xichen watched her quietly for a moment, then chuckled. "What little scheme are you hatching now?"

"Just a tiny sacrifice." She snuggled closer, unfastening three of his shirt buttons. "About this much."

Bo Xichen leaned back, resting his hands on the sofa, and watched her quietly. After a long moment, he smiled faintly. "And you?"

The little imp yelped, "If I show up, would anyone even buy it?"

She added in a tiny voice, "Mr. Bo, you have to hide the fact that you’re married. That’s the only way unbuttoning these won’t be for nothing."

Bo Xichen glowered at her, then suddenly stood up and pulled her into his embrace...

After a long moment, her face flushed, she asked meekly, "So, is it okay?"

Bo Xichen smiled faintly. "Alright."

He stood up and walked towards the bathroom. "Three buttons at most."

"YES!" She bounced happily on the sofa a few times, while Little Uncle Bo, standing at the bathroom door, crooked a finger at her...

Her face fell, and she obediently went over to him, just like a little puppy.

After a moment, he leaned down, his voice husky. "I heard you met Second Uncle today."

"It must have been Old Master Bo, right?" The little imp sounded quite indignant. "Such a tattletale, no loyalty at all!"

Bo Xichen smiled faintly. "Old Master Bo seems to have... a bit of a persecution complex regarding Second Uncle."

"That’s because he’s incompetent," the little imp said, fiddling with his buttons and grumbling with some dissatisfaction, "Little Uncle, I thought when you called me over... you meant *that*."

He looked at her, a smile in his eyes. "Actually, I did call you over for *that*. I just suddenly remembered to ask about the other thing."
