Arthur's mind was a storm of anger and sorrow as he absorbed Silvester's devastating news.
Arthur didn't even bother to look or pay attention to the system rewards at all, his entire mind wad clouded by anger and sorrow.
His suspicion was right, his parents death wasn't an accident at all, all of it was man made.
His family was now in danger, all because of one individual, and to make matters worse, this person was around his age.
The weight of the news settled heavily on Arthur's shoulders.
"Master Arthur," Silvester began solemnly, "we uncovered something alarming: the bankruptcy of the Osborn Family? That was engineered by none other than the Sterling Family. It all started when your father refused to sell them a piece of land under our real estate company."
Arthur blinked in disbelief. "You mean the land we're currently developing on the north side of the city?"
Silvester nodded gravely. "Yes, Master Arthur."
"Dammit! Just because my father refused to sell them the land, they had to kill my parents?" Arthur's voice thundered as he slammed his fist onto the table, his eyes ablaze with fury.
The weight of his grief and anger was palpable in the room.
"What could possibly drive them to such lengths? Why go after the entire Osborn family?" He took a deep breath, attempting to rein in his emotions.
Silvester, ever composed, slid a folder across the table. "All the information you need is right here, everything about the Sterling family and their obsession with that piece of land."
Arthur opened the folder, flipping through its contents until shock washed over him. His gaze shot up to Silvester, disbelief etched on his face. "Are you sure this information is accurate?"
"Absolutely, Master Arthur," Silvester replied earnestly. "We went to great lengths to uncover it. In fact, we stumbled upon this intel during an interrogation; one of our captives spilled everything, he's apparently the leader of their group and overheard Oliver Sterling discussing plans."
As Arthur absorbed the details, a thoughtful expression crossed his face.
The documents revealed that Oliver Sterling and his family were desperate for the land that Arthur's father had recently purchased at auction for $15 million.
A price that had seemed ridiculous at the time but was now poised to skyrocket in value due to upcoming city developments like a new subway station and schools just meters away.
Months ago, when Arthur's father bought that seemingly worthless plot of land, he faced ridicule from high-profile figures including members of the Sterling family themselves.
But now? That same land was suddenly worth hundreds of millions.
The Sterling family was able to get the news from some connections that the the city authorities have announced the, development of a subway station and some key schoos near the land.
Infact many wealthy and other Real Estate Companies individuals had also heard the news about these developmentst through varous connections but chose to walk away when they realized they could do nothing about it.
Not so for Oliver Sterling, greed consumed him.
They offered Arthur's father double what he paid for it, but he stood firm against their temptations.
When legal means failed them, desperation turned into something far darker.
While others retreated upon realizing they couldn't have what they wanted, Oliver rallied allies who shared his insatiable hunger for wealth, and together they targeted Arthur's father and the Osborn Family businesses relentlessly until bankruptcy loomed over them all.
Their twisted plan hinged on forcing a sale at rock-bottom prices once Arthur's family was financially crippled.
Arthur's father had always been underestimated, even when the Osborn family teetered on the brink of bankruptcy. Yet, he stood firm, resolutely refusing to sell their land.
This stubbornness infuriated the Sterling family, who were driven by greed and finally resorted to killing Arthur's father's.
They believed that if they eliminated him, acquiring the land would be a simple task, after all, they dismissed the rest of the Osborn family as inconsequential.
What they didn't anticipate was the resilience of the Osborns.
What they didn't even expect was that the Osborn Family would bounce back from bankruptcy and even started to develop the land.
Seeing all of this, anger boiled over within the Sterling family; their desperation led them to target Arthur himself.
But what they don't expect is that this isn't the previous Arthur anymore this is a completely new Arthur.
With a heavy heart and clenched fists around a folder filled with revelations, Arthur took a deep breath.
The cold realization washed over him: the Sterling family's greed knew no bounds.
They were willing to sacrifice lives for their ambitions and this seems like this isn't the first time that they have done something like this .
Suddenly, a voice echoed in his mind:
[Host! A new mission has been issued.]
[Mission: Revenge Mode]
[ As head of the Osborn family, you must eliminate every obstacle standing between you and your rightful place at the top. An eye for an eye; take revenge against the Sterling family for what they did to you and your loved ones>]
Startled back into reality by this unexpected directive, Arthur hesitated before asking, "You mean I should kill people?"
[Yes, Host] came the system's brief reply.
Arthur was taken aback, killing? The only life he'd ever taken was that of a chicken back on Earth, a feat he accomplished only after enduring pecks and flaps from its feathery fury!

Now he was being asked to end human lives? It felt like an insurmountable leap.
"Is there any punishment if I fail this mission?" he pondered aloud.
"Is there any punishment if I fail this mission?" Arthur pondered, his thoughts swirling as he addressed the system.
[ No, Host. There is no time limit or punishment for this mission. You can choose to decline it. But remember, you are not the miserable orphan you once were on Earth. You are now Arthur Osborn, head of the Osborn Family. Every action you take must serve the interests of your family. When Oliver Sterling murdered your parents, he felt no remorse, he simply eliminated an obstacle in his path to success ] The system briefly said and fell completely silent.
The system's words hung in the air like a heavy fog, leaving Arthur momentarily speechless.
He leaned back in his chair, lost in thought as he processed this stark reality.
The system was right; he was no longer that lonely boy from Earth, the one who had faced life alone without friends or family, treated like a slave by his boss until his untimely demise.
Now, he was Arthur Osborn: leader of a sprawling family that depended on him for protection and sustenance.
Yet the thought of taking a life filled him with dread, a stark contrast to how casually Oliver had ended his parents' lives.
Just the thought of it sent a chill down Arthur's spine, draining the color from his face.
Sweat trickled down his forehead, and his eyes seemed to wander into an abyss as he clenched his fist, trembling slightly.
"Master Arthur!" A voice broke through the haze, Silvester had been standing there all along, watching him with concern.
The sudden call jolted Arthur back to reality.
Taking a deep breath to steady himself, Arthur waved Silvester off. "You can head out now. A few bodyguards will meet you outside. Here are the coordinates for a military factory; I'll reach out if I need anything."
"Yes, Master Arthur." Silvester accepted the flash drive containing the crucial information and exited the study room.
As the door clicked shut behind him, silence enveloped Arthur once more in that dimly lit space.
The only sound was his ragged breathing echoing in the stillness, an unsettling reminder of the weight resting on his shoulders.

MG Note: In this Chapter some of you might think that the system is forcing Arthur to kill people but remember this is a progression novel and besides Arthur will have to take revenge sooner or later it's just that he isn't prepared for something so big, killing people is no easy feat especially when to someone who is really innocent and have not seen the true face of this world.
And also some of you might think that Arthur is a coward if he cannot even take revenge against those who killed his parents but as I said before this is a progressive novel.
He won't just have to start killing people left and right for someone who have not killed before this is simply overkill.
There have to be character development after all but don't he won't remained this innocent for long.
