Since he had been drinking with her this whole time, then suddenly acting drunk shouldn’t look strange at all... Right?
In fact, Alex knew that with the way he looked like a typical mundane college kid who had probably never touched a bottle of liquor in his life—Nyx would most likely believe his act immediately.
And if he happened to lose his balance...
Alex’s lips slowly curled upward. Then suddenly falling on her by accident wouldn’t look suspicious at all, he mused. Plus no matter how brief the contact ended up being. The aura would still be able to do its work in that brief expanse of time.
But there was a small problem though. If Nyx manages to see through the act... Then he might not leave this room with all his bones intact.
Alex took one slow, final deep breath, mentally bracing himself. If he was going to do this, then it had to look real. Not just clumsy—no. It had to be an all out, full blown, one hell of a fall.
"Everything okay over there? You look like you’re fighting a war in your head," Nyx remarked, her voice a bit slower than before. She was watching him over the rim of her glass, with a slightly glazed pair of eyes that seemed to be getting dimmer with each passing minute.
"I’m... I’m fine," Alex stammered, putting on his best performance of a drunk man who was pretending to be sober. "I’m just a bit... Hot in here. Is the AC off? Oof it’s just so damn hot."
He stood up abruptly, making the glass table rattle after him. took one step, then two, before deliberately letting his right ankle fold underneath him.
"Whoa...!"
Alex’s body lurched forward like a puppet whose strings had suddenly been cut. His foot slid awkwardly across the floor as his balance gave out completely.
Thump!
His body crashed down awkwardly on top of Nyx. A light gasp escaped her lips as his shoulders collided with her torso, the impact forced both of them back into the soft couch.
For the briefest of moments, the both of them remained frozen in the same awkward position. Alex’s chest was pressed tightly against her body, with one hand instinctively bracing itself against the couch beside her thin waist while the other had accidentally landed on her smooth creamy thighs. As for his head... Well, it was buried deeply against her ample baby feeders.
Alex felt like he was in heaven. Her chest felt so soft that he almost felt the urge to grab and give it a rough squeeze. At that exact moment, the system notification rang outside his mind, interrupting his thoughts.

Alex almost grinned. But he quickly moved his head away from her tantalizing chest and forced out a look of utter, drunken confusion.

Nyx stared at him with a stunned expression on her usually aloof face. The faint blush from earlier had now deepened more than before. And for the briefest of seconds, her fingers came up to caress Alex’s face. But then, suddenly, her eyes sharpened as she instantly regained her composure.
"... Are you done?"
Alex blinked slowly, pretending to struggle to focus on her face.
"Huh...?"
Nyx eyebrow twitched as impatience settled between them.
"You have exactly three seconds to remove your body from me, if not, I’ll make sure you won’t be able to move it. Permanently."
Alex remained frozen. Three seconds. That was all the time she had given him. But Alex couldn’t accept this. He refused to waste the only opportunity he had carefully crafted. There was no way in hell that he was going to listen to her this time.
So instead of scrambling away like a terrified subordinate, he ignored her, and continued to rest on top of her.
The system chimed again in his mind.

He wanted to nod his head with glee, but the soft body underneath him reminded him that he still had to act dazed. Yet the longer he stayed there, the darker Nyx’s gaze seemed to become.
"One..." Her frosty voice rang out, a warning of the storm to come. But Alex refused to leave.
"Two..." She continued, her voice quieter now but no less dangerous than the first.
Despite the irritation in her eyes, Nyx couldn’t help the burning sensation that had begun to spread slowly through her body. If it was manageable before then now it felt more potent, the moment that drunken bastard lay on top of her.
She so desperately wanted to shove him off. Normally, that would have taken less than a second. Yet strangely, her body refused to cooperate. She tried with all her strength to get up, yet couldn’t summon the slightest bit of strength. And worse still, instead of feeling repulsed by the closeness, a strange treacherous heat was beginning to pool between her legs.
Nyx frowned slightly. Something wasn’t right. Her sharp amber eyes narrowed as she stared at the man lying on top of her. Could he have spiked one of her drinks? But she dismissed that idea. She had personally poured the drink herself, so the issue of the drink being tampered with, was extremely low.
Since no one had touched them, then that meant it had to be something else. But what?
Alex, meanwhile, was doing everything in his power to maintain the appearance of a drunken fool. Inside his mind however, he continued to watch the desire meter panel with growing excitement.
At the rate it was currently growing, he knew for a fact that he would finally be able to have his way with this wicked woman.
Nyx’s suspicious eyes narrowed slightly as she studied his face. The suspicion in her eyes continued to grow stronger with each passing second, but the strange warmth spreading through her body, plus the alcohol that was beginning to affect her, made it difficult for her to think clearly.
"Three."
Her barely calm voice rang out, and Alex braced himself for whatever attack she had planned for him. But it didn’t come. She had been bluffing. The alcohol and aura combo had long since created a crack in her armor
The desire meter continued to steadily climb up. Now the lust and attraction points were high, but so was annoyance. Nonetheless, He was genuinely happy that everything seemed to be going smoothly.
Suddenly an annoying voice that he thought was going to be gone for at least a while, rang through his head.

Alex raised his eyebrow with a questioning gaze.
’What is it? I hope this is not part of your scheme?’
[Oh. No, no. This is definitely not a scheme. I just wanted to tell you that you don’t have all day. Because Nyx is starting to get suspicious. So whatever you’re doing, you better hurry up and move to the main part now, if not then you might just wake up in a hospital... Or a morgue]
Alex’s eyes, which had been slightly annoyed, shot up. He took a quick peek at Nyx and noticed the trace of confusion written all over her face. The earlier haze in her eyes was slowly beginning to fade, giving way to clarity.
This was bad. Really bad. Alex could practically feel his internal bells ringing alarm. If she fully recovered her senses before the meter reached the threshold, then everything he had just risked his life for would end up being pointless.
No he couldn’t let it go to waste. He had invested too much into this. He refused to let everything be for naught. Since physical touch increases the aura’s effect then he just had to make a big gamble. One that could potentially have him killed later on, but for now, he didn’t care about any of that.
As Nyx opened her mouth to command him. Alex immediately used that opportunity to press his lips firmly against hers.
The moment he did that, the desire meter shot up instantly.

Nyx froze in shock from the unexpected kiss, then regained herself and tried to break out. In the heat of the moment, Alex got lost in the primal battle of tongues and forgot all about his mission. He traced his right hand up to her hair and pulled back, making her groan and bend her neck further to give him a much better access.
