Building My SSS-Rank Universal Empire: From Trash to Cosmic Overlord-Chapter 114: I will kill you
Vale stood in front of the three buildings, eyes narrowed to slits. Behind him were Slya and Tiber.
This base was different from the lower ranks. There wasn’t just one building but three, surrounding the central one where Fell’s office was located.
Slya pulled her hood tighter over her head. "How are we going to get in? I can see the shield surrounding this place. We won’t get in unless they admit us."
Tiber grunted. "We could just enter as if we have business inside, but I’m sure they’ve already shared our drawings or such."
They were looking at the black gate and the guards patrolling inside the compound.
"Where’s Fell’s office again?" Vale asked.
"According to the intel we have," she pointed at the middle building, the front half covered in glass, "that’s the place."
"Alright," Vale said and raised his hand.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Slya asked.
Vale looked at her and said, "Try to keep up."
’Infernal Ball!’
Wind whipped around Vale, throwing off his hood to reveal deep green eyes. Fire gathered in his hand, forming a glowing red orb that almost resembled the sun.
There was a moment of pause. Slya and Tiber looked at him in surprise. The guards in the compound felt a flare of dangerous magic building. The Knights passing by on the street turned in shock.
Why is this person using such dangerous magic on the street?!
And then the fireball shot forward in a beam.
Baam!
It collided with the shield, sounding like glass shattering, and then the shield cracked like an egg, falling apart in pieces.
The people on the street took one look at them and fled. Those who belonged to the Scuffed Bones hesitated, torn between duty and self-preservation. But no one interfered.
Anyone bold enough to attack a rank 3 base was either stupid or strong.
No one was willing to use themselves to find out which.
Alarms blared inside the building as Vale and his team stepped into the compound. The gate guards rushed them, only to be met by a wave of fire that swallowed them, quickly turning them into half-burnt corpses.
Vale smiled, but it didn’t change the coldness in his eyes. "Don’t be like last time. Don’t needlessly waste your strength. Be on the defensive until I get back."
He raised his hand for Infernal Ball once again, but this time, he followed it with a small chant of a pact. Black lines appeared on the red fire orb as Vale made a place-switching pact with it.
Then he fired the beam directly at the window of the main building.
The moment the fire got close to the window, it vanished, only to be replaced by Vale, who punched through the glass with a hand rippling with explosive fire, shattering through.
Meanwhile, Slya and Tiber were already on the run the moment the Infernal Ball was fired. They didn’t want to get caught when the fireball reappeared beside them.
Vale stepped onto broken glass, his eyes locking onto the tall man on the other side of the room.
"Vale."
Fell’s voice dripped with venom, filled with hate, anger, and twisted glee.
"Fell," Vale replied, his hand clenched on the sword around his waist—a weapon with three blades warped together into one. "You seem eager to see me."
"Oh, I am!" Fell sneered. "I’ve been waiting for you. All the troubles you’ve caused me, I will extract repayment from you, one painful scream at a time."
Vale’s eyes flickered to the table, the shattered glass throwing light on the many scattered papers.
"Who are you sending money to in the Athrimir Clan?"
Fell’s expression twisted in shock, his face darkening. Then, as if realization struck, he went rigid.
"You killed the assassins, then."
"Who is backing you?" Vale asked.
Fell sneered. "Wouldn’t you like to know? I’ll whisper it to you when you’re about to die."
Vale looked at him flatly, then spoke in a calm, clear voice.
"Dominion."
A wave of shock and heat blasted off him, turning everything in its path to ash. The table burned to cinders and was blown away. The floor and walls scorched black, and Fell was sent staggering back.
"I hope you don’t die from that," Vale growled.
The anger he had kept in check since Xan’s death three weeks ago was slowly unfolding inside him, one wing at a time.
His eyes burned with green fire, and his body shimmered with heat. His hand still glowed with the aftereffects of Dominion.
He looked toward the far corner, where his attack had thrown Fell. The shadows there were strange, wrong. They layered atop each other like tangled cobwebs.
Then he heard a hiss, more beast than man, and a voice that vibrated unnaturally, like something inhuman.
"Oh, I’m not dead, Vale! Such a powerful attack! Those assassins have disgraced us A-ranked. I will show you the real power of an A-rank Knight!"
Fell emerged from the shadows.
He was taller than before, hunched forward, his body resembling a monstrous skeleton draped in cobwebs made of darkness.
His hands and feet ended in long, jagged claws. His mouth was filled with dark fangs that dripped black saliva. He had no eyes, and his nose was nothing but bony holes. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"I will kill you myself and then fe....!!"
Vale flung the ball of condensed light and heat at him before he could finish.
It twisted through the air, lighting up the space as it blasted forward.
Fell blurred away from the corner so fast that his body left behind afterimages.
Boom!
The attack exploded against the wall, blasting chunks of stone and dust straight into the next room.
Meanwhile, Fell rushed Vale, easily closing the distance between them in an instant.
He swung his claws like weapons, seeking to tear Vale down.
"Why are you avoiding a fight?!"
Vale twisted and dodged, watching as Fell’s claws sliced through solid stone like paper.
No way I’m letting you touch me with that!
Then he opened his mouth again to unleash another Dominion spell.
But he frowned.
His movements slowed, hesitation flashing in his eyes.
For a moment, Vale couldn’t remember what he was about to do.
