BUILDING MY OWN EMPIRE - My Journey from Nothing to Overwhelming Power-Chapter 29 – The Predatory Tooth Bird.
Chapter 29 – The Predatory Tooth Bird
.
{ 12:00 }
Two days have passed.. and here I am again in the middle of the Rock Village..
How long has it been since I arrived here? .. Well, maybe two hours. Maybe a little more..
What was I doing in those two hours? And why are you asking, are you my mother??
Hahaha, just joking with you, my loyal friend.. in those two hours.. I placed one of the treasures I got from the Deception Monster inside the village..
(The Ever-Burning Fire)
I only have one.. so I had to choose between placing it inside the cave or outside..
After thinking, I decided to place it inside the cave.. the reason was clear.. the cave was living in darkness and had a cold atmosphere.. as for the outdoor atmosphere, it was spring-like and I could simply reverse the temperature by placing several fire stoves inside the houses..
And with coal stones in abundant numbers here.. the houses can be permanently heated.
Yes, I could have done the same for the cave, but.. I felt for a moment that converting those unmined coal stones to a higher quality requires a valuable heating source like the fire that never goes out, and not just natural flames..
Regarding the houses that we agreed would be built on the surface, more than 30 houses have already been built in those two days.. an amazing achievement, honestly..
The Rock Tribe surprises me with the speed of their work..
Regarding the houses, in fact, I cannot say I wasn’t surprised by the engineering effort the Rock Men possess..
All the houses were square-shaped and of one size. They had mud walls interspersed with wooden pillars, as well as groups of coal stones embedded unevenly here and there on the wall..
How can I describe the shape of the house with the stones to you... mmmm... well, when you squint your eyes and look at it, you see something similar to a raisin cake, haha.
Don’t you know what raisins are? Well, in Iraq we used to call them "Zabib". It is originally dried grapes that are small in size but their taste is beyond imagination..
It is considered the favorite meal for sixth-grade preparatory students (Sads Al-I’dadi) because there is a legend saying that whoever eats ten raisins will not forget what he reads after that..
That’s why you see the Iraqi student, who has been driven mad by the "Sixth Grade", sitting on the floor, reading one word and eating twenty raisins, hahahaha.
Are you wondering what the "Sixth Grade" is? And why does it drive students crazy?
Hahahaha.. Oh.. well, the matter needs me to sit on the floor and explain, hahahaha, but I won’t..
What would the Rock Man’s look at me be, hahaha.. it wouldn’t be less than a look saying.. "What is this fool who says he is a Master?"
So let me explain the matter simply.. the "Sixth" my friends is the final grade for a student before heading to college, and through the end-of-year exams for that grade, it is decided where that student’s path will be later..
Why do students consider it a grade for madmen?
Well.. because quite simply, it is a very difficult grade that contains an accumulation of 7 and maybe 8 subjects with the second additional language.. those subjects are difficult and the summaries and explanations of each subject are larger than the basic curriculum.. and on top of all that, the academic accumulation that the student must not miss a thing from..
He is required to get a grade of no less than 98 out of 100 if he truly wants to guarantee his future...
For this reason, it is considered a grade for madmen..
So, where were we??? and where did we go, hahahaha.. damn it.. I was explaining the shape of the house and suddenly I reached the suffering of students in the old world..
Well.. let’s return to the present time..
The Village Chief stood before me, and behind him stood 30 men and women from the Rock Men tribe..
The village contained a larger number, but I decided not to take more than 80% of its residents as soldiers..
"If they are all ready.. it’s time to begin the evolution into a fighter," I said, then placed my hands behind my back to observe..
"Your command, My Lord," the Chief answered with dignity.. while he turned toward them and asked them to execute the orders..
I didn’t know how they would truly evolve.. but the matter didn’t take long..
The very ground beneath them began to evaporate its dust and surround each of them...
In less than seconds.. every one of the 30 people was inside a closed earthen cocoon..
Then silence fell..
Bit by bit, the cocoons began to open sequentially..
In a moment...
The cocoons evaporated just as they began.. the cocoon period lasted only a few minutes..
The new people.. were different from the people who were wrapped in the cocoon.. with one exception... their faces were the same..
Their bodies became clearly larger in size and more solid.. as if the rock surrounding them became more polished and shining..
{ Unique Predictor under activation }
Above their heads, the designation "Rock Man Fighter" was shining.. clear as the sun.. evidence of the successful evolution..
At the same time.. the Predictor’s alerts flashed in abundance.. it suggested dozens of suitable weapons..
After several minutes of leaving them to adapt and rejoice in their evolution.. I began granting them the weapons..
30 different high-quality specialized weapons.. they cost me a lot of money, truly..
"My Lord.. you are very generous.. those weapons are priceless," the Chief bowed his head in respect..
"They are something they deserve.. listen."
When I turned toward the thirty soldiers.. they all stood with dignity without exception.. like a unit of highly trained soldiers.. then they bowed their heads in respect..
"In three days, a severe battle will occur threatening the security of our city.. the matter is not limited to the central city but the entire space. Swarms of insects will attack and we must all be a wall to stop them.. after three days.. I expect a fight from you that reveals the true metal of the Rock Men."
"We are under your command, My Lord."
Everyone shouted in one majestic voice, then knelt in respect..
{ 2:00 }
After I finished talking to the soldiers.. I decided to give them specific training instructions and then return to the city.. but..
Before returning.. the Village Chief asked to show me something.. they discovered it yesterday when they tried to advance and dig more..
"My Lord, this is it."
At the end of one of the tunnels.. it could be said it is the deepest and longest tunnel among them all.. there were white stones..
The white stones were gathering together and taking a specific shape, unlike the coal stones which were scattered in the ceiling and walls, up and down..
These white stones.. were taking one shape.. a rectangular shape similar to a door.
Above the door.. marks were engraved in a strange language..
{ Ding.. Ding.. Ding }
What!!!!
{ The Man Known by the Shadows }
{ Activated }
Haaa...
The language that was strange a moment ago.. seemed completely clear now..
(If you are the one summoned, you shall enter)
The instructions were very clear.. and I did not delay. I immediately placed my hand over the white stone...
{ Secret Mission - Training Under the Ancient Ruins }
{ You are inside the designated area for the mission }
I truly expected that, haha..
Before I could finish my smile.. the stone wall moved to the side.. a heavy, annoying creaking sound.. accompanied the door until it settled away and opened the path to a corridor filled with white stones.
"O Chief.. go now, I will handle the matter from here."
"Your command, My Lord." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
The Chief left quickly.. and I began entering the corridor. A bit of anxiety took hold of me with every step.. in fact, it wasn’t a bit, it was a large amount of anxiety, haha..
After possessing the weapon.. I don’t doubt for a moment that the missions from now on can be very physically dangerous..
The most likely thing that this mission is a combat mission is its name itself..
{ Training Under the Ancient Ruins }
It sounds like a truly terrifying name.. on top of that, it’s a secret mission.. well, I’ve trained a little, maybe what I learned will benefit me..
After more than 300 steps forward in a white, luminous rocky corridor.. my lips parted in surprise..
A wide space underground.. large and high white pillars heading toward a ceiling that, the least that can be said, is very high..
Far behind the pillars, there was a large, dilapidated white building.. but the awe and majesty still contained it in all its details..
The ground was something of grass, mud, and stone..
At the first step toward the open space.. loud screams began to echo sequentially..
Waaaq.. Waaaq.. Waaaq
The sounds were closer to the sound of birds.. but it seemed as if they were not..
Maybe just a feeling.. I don’t know..
My eyes turned to search for the source of the sound.. but nothing was visible..
"Maybe the sounds came from behind those large pillars. They hide most of the view and the building stands behind them with its large size, let alone birds."
I whispered to myself.. while I decided to advance cautiously.. in my left hand I had already drawn my sword.. in my right hand a Wind Blade was resting cautiously..
Step after step.. I began to approach the pillars.. the sounds are still ambiguous.. but they are clear too..
After minutes of caution.. finally, I stepped at the first massive pillar.. it was about 10 meters in circumference.. in the first row of pillars there were 5 pillars, they were the largest in the space of all..
In the second row there were 7 pillars of a smaller width..
Looking closely.. the scene before me was very clear.. there are 7 rows of pillars.. the first row near me is the widest, let’s say about 10 meters..
The other rows decrease in width gradually.. until the sixth row is half a meter wide.. and there are 16 pillars..
In the seventh row, there are 20 pillars with a width of less than half a meter..
Well, it seems whoever built them was obsessed with engineering, haha.
I will advance step by step.. okay.
A step behind the first pillar.. then another step.. then
Aaaaakh..
What is this?!
A feather half a meter long.. settled in my right thigh..
There is no pain, only a sting..
Quickly.. I retreated toward the massive pillar.. then the sound echoed again..
I held the feather in my hand.. it looked like an eagle feather maybe, or a peacock, I don’t know..
{ Ding.. Ding.. Ding }
{ Infection by the feather of the Predatory Tooth Bird }
{ Infection with Sleep Sickness }
{ You have 30 minutes before being subjected to sleep }
{ When subjected to sleep, you fall prey to be eaten by the Predatory Tooth Bird }
