Building My Guild With A Blank Scroll-Chapter 90: A Deal Gone Wrong–4
Chapter 90: A Deal Gone Wrong–4
*SHING–SHING—SHING!
Blades were being drawn out all over the room, as true his words, the Umpirals were now in control over Kitville.
’Why didn’t I notice this earlier, I had sent them to their death! They’ll pay for this!’
"YOU’LL PAY!!" At that very moment, his eyes had lit up brightly with a golden flame.
"Capture their leader and kill the rest!" One of the men at the entrance, yelled out as the rest in black and orange charged with their eyes glowing.
"Hane! That’s Hane, Trin’s second-in-command!" Standing up stairs and barely noticeable was Kenze, who had his gaze on the figure near the entrance. ’This is bad, he knows me.’
Blades were clashing all over with those not wanting anything to do with the battle eager to get out. Most being spiritualist, trying to escape the violent energies in order not to disrupt their own minimum flows. Scanning around, Kenze found exactly what he wanted— a back door.
Quickly sprouting into action, he descended the staircase. Going past a few men of the Umpirals who took any regard for someone in rags.
’Forgive me, Alden. But I don’t see you winning this.’ He thought to himself, now closer to the goal when—
"Kenze!" He heard someone call his name from behind, a familiar voice.
"What in the heavens." He mumbled, turning to look back, not even knowing why he did that. His eyes met with Alden, who wore a puzzled look up his face.
’You’re deadbeat!’ He thought, as if the other would read his mind. Not giving an ounce of care, he turned back to make a run for it as he planned. Yet in the process of turning, his eyes met with another. Hane was staring right at him, a grin on his face having recognized him already.
"Darn it!" Not wasting anymore time, he made run as fast as he could. Finally exiting the building into a barely lit alleyway.
’Where was it? Where was it?’ He had to think fast in getting his bearings as there were two paths. Soon deciding to continue forward he made his way to the back of the building, taking a left and branching into another alleyway.
He was moving fast, having manipulated his energy into his legs to increase his speed. ’I got nothing for her to eat, darn it!’
Kitville wasn’t a small place and it did fit what a village of a district would, unlike Renville which was about a quarter of it.
Heading to his destination only got longer and longer, trying to avoid the large crowds and an Umpiral men he’d see. No where was free of people, yet the dark alleys were much safer. As those around barely, noticed anyone passed as they fulfilled their desires.
*HUFF!
*HUFF!
"That felt like hell." Kenze caught his breath, as he currently stood near the exit of a dark alley. Across the path was an inclined building which barely held onto it’s foundations. Probably one of the old pleasure houses of Kitville, it was currently an abandoned area.
However, this was the best place he had managed to get for the little one. And so soon, he’d have to leave already to who knew where.
Taking a step forward, he froze as his ears twitched hearing a faint sniffling amidst the night sounds and wind.
For as if to not keep him curious for long, the door to the building creaked as it slid open.
"Kenze, Kenze, Kenze...I couldn’t but wonder what you were doing by running— yet you led me here." The basey voice of Hane was heard as he stepped out of the building, three figures following behind. Stepping to the side, one of his men drew forward with a teary eyed little girl at knifepoint.
"Let her go, Hane." Kenze said plainly, his eyes fixed on the other.
"Let her go?" Hane repeated. "I wonder how much she’d sell to here, or maybe Helluva—haha!"
"You have a problem with me, be a man and face me." Kenze stated, one his hands reaching to his back.
*PFFFT!
*HAHAHA!
Hane broke into a round of laughter. "Am i hearing it right, fighting over sluts like a suckling child— and now calling yourself a man."
"Ahh, haha...so this is about Ginger? Should I tell, you about each and every time with her?" He smirked noticing the expression on the other’s face, change for a minute there.
"Oh really, you would tell me about it?"
"Surely, I’m always willing to share— the stories, of course."
"Great, tell me after you’re dead."
"Huh?" Looking at Hane, he noticed his gaze shift from him to right above him. As at that moment was when he noticed a shadow towering above his and himself, completely.
"How—" Those were his last words as he turned around, completing the turn headlessly.
*ARGH!
One of the men yelled out, drawing the attention of the others. "The little twat bit me!!" He squealed, holding up his hands.
"And now she’s escaping if you don’t get her, dummy!" Hane exclaimed. "Why, are you standing there?! Get her already!"
’I must get away from the bad men, they killed him. They killed, Master Kenze!’ The small frame of the purple haired girl could be seen, as she maneuvered her way through the dark and abandoned area. Her eyes were as sky blue, yet fierce with a strong will developed from brutal experiences. They held no tears, having shed all away at an age much younger than now.
’I have to survive!’ She reminded herself of the current goal, aware of the other closing the distance she’d given her all to make. They were spiritualists and she was nothing but a frail little girl, simply striving to not die.
"Get her, there she is!" Two were in pursuit after her, and they had already caught up than she expected.
Her lungs hurt for barely being able to catch her breath, still she didn’t stop running though it slowly turned into barely walking. Noticing a path between two rundown buildings, she branched into the alleyway— the two right behind her tail.
"Haaa! Haaa!" Halfway through, it was it for her as her legs had given up and brought her down. Gasping for breath, she could hear their mischievous laughter and imagine the crooked smiles up their faces.
"Gotcha, you little twat!"
