Chapter 84: Crow Brothers

"To what do i owe the pleasure of having all of you at my humble home." A figure in a white overcoat with a black collar said as he stepped into the room.

In the large black and white room, nine seats had been encircled with eight of them being filled leaving only one. Noticing someone enter into the room, all eight of them stood up.

"No, no. Do take your seat first, I’m not your equals."

"You are, 9Crow." One of the eight stated as they sat back down. They all wore similar high quality white robes which had a plus of being an armour, though each one’s collar had a different colour.

"7Crow, you sure do have a good sense of humour."

"Sometimes your honesty, does nothing but vexes me, 9Crow."

"Can’t help it, 4Crow. It’s been long and by the way."

"Only honesty brings a secret—9crow." All of the figures said in unison.

"He never lied about someone one day learning his silly quotes, haha."

"For the beautiful of it, that a woman carries her—"

"Man, don’t bring that one up already, hahaha!"

*AHEM!

"Everyone is sealed now i believe." An old croaky voice echoed throughout the room, amplified by his spiritual energy.

"Yes, Crow."

"Good then." With a metal stick beside him, he managed to get on his feet, his eyes glowing with a golden flame. "If i may ask, 9Crow. Is there a reason why you sent your birds to find details on one of the VIPs?"

"What? V–V– VIPs?!" 9Crow stuttered, aware of how much importance was given to those on that list. "Master Crow, i would never dare to do such a thing."

"Really, then why do I hear of one being at their estate for months now. Are the day offs you give, that lengthy?"

"No, Master Crow. Who— who are you talking about? Which VIP?"

"The R—"

"Shut your beak, 3Crow!"

"Sorry, Crow."

"Here’s my order, 9Crow. All your birds must die, wherever they are. Find and kill them without fail."

"Mas—master Crow, you can’—"

"ARE YOU, DISOBEYING ME?!!"

The room shook with his words and so did his insides, as he fell from his seat onto the ground.

The atmosphere was tense, yet there was none to dare to challenge the one who bore the highest authority among them.

"I–I–I wouldn’t dare, Master Crow."

"Good, I will personally deploy the RAGs to deal with this pressing issue."

"You don’t have to, we are here."

"Guess what, 2Crow?"

"Eh?"

"I want to, heh."

"Hah, tsk!"

"You may leave now, 9Crow." The old voice commanded.

"Yes, Master Crow." 9Crow pushed himself off the ground and in time, now stood on his feet while sniffling inaudibly. Turning to leave and half way through to the entrance, his came was heard again.

"9Crow, you are relieved from your duties for a few weeks. Stay home and don’t get into any trouble, boy."

"Yes, Master." He was soon out of the room, slamming the door behind him.

"A crybaby just like his father."

"You bet, he’s a tough not to crack."

"From outside yes, but within— that’s unlikely you know."

"Ah well, if you say so."

"Brother Crow, did you just tell him to not do what he’s exactly going to do?"

"Well, he can handle himself alright."

"Let’s hope so, still. I’ll make sure I have a few Rags on him."

"Hah, the overprotective 2Crow eh."

"And the one without a single sense of security."

"Calm down, 2Crow. 5Crow didn’t mean it okay."

"I always mean what i say, brother."

"You see, you see what I was talking about."

"And what were you talking about?"

"You, you had better respect me. You think that pitchforked trash of security can protect you from me."

*YAWN!

"Why are you two at it again, your fights are boring."

"Shut up there, 8Crow."

"Sure, sure, sure.

"I asked a simple question and you’re already at your boiling point."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Brains can’t even protect himself, can he?"

"Nope!"

"Thank you brother."

"Hah, 4Crow you’re supporting this musclehead."

"Always choose the winning side."

"Winning, you think pitchforks are useless weapons, then wait to see the iron pitchforks."

"Uh, it’s still a pitchfork brother, just heavier and more useless."

"Thank you, 4Crow."

"It can stab thrice at a time, think about that."

"So like a threesome?"

"Eh, seriously? Why would you—"

*SILENCE!!

"You’re all are giving this old man a headache."

"Crow, do you have to keep reminding us that you’re old, you don’t even need that walking stick to begin with."

"Maybe he wants us to kill him, he’s seen a lot in life."

"I’ll agree to that."

"Yes."

"Yes."

"Yes."

"Wait what?"

"Let’s proceed with the—"

*WHACK!

"Ouch!"

"Not with the killing you dum dum."

"Well, 7Crow. If you don’t get my terms, other ’genders’ do."

"Owww!" They exclaimed in unison.

"So like we have three genders now or something?"

"Somebody please knock 4Crow out already."

"On it."

"Hey, Hey 3Crow. Let me tell you something, let me tell you something, let me— let me..."

*ZZZZT!

"Good, now 6Crow and 8Crow are to take care of getting the Ninth Cloak back on it’s feet after the clean up."

"2Crow and 3Crow would be escorting me back to inform him."

"We agree with that."

"Good, now out of here brothers. There’s work to do."

*ZZZZT!

"It’s been ages right?" Kezia sat on the ground at the bedside while scanning around the room for the umpteenth time. There was nothing much interesting there and neither did anything meet her standards, of being worthy of entering her collections.

Laying on the bed in a white and blue gown was none other than the woman known as Clara Elmore. Kezia had a billion chances to leave the room immediately, yet for a reason she herself couldn’t think of. She had decided to get her one the bed after she had fainted from screaming her lungs out.

’She doesn’t look crazy? She looks like a woman, a normal human woman.’ Kezia had heard the gossip and could also say, had experienced the gossip. To her, everyone had a reason they did what they did, she loved having precious items and maybe she also loved that. Well, that wasn’t making any sense.

However, she just knew there was a reason to why that happened to her, since no one was born crazy.

’Except, those two. That I’m a hundred percent sure of.’

"Oh you’re still here?" She suddenly saw a pair of bright amber eyes gazing into her’s.

"Ahhh!"

"Mmm, you done shouting?" Clara asked after a few minutes had gone by.

"Uh, Oh. So why doesn’t anyone hear it?"

"Sound Devouring Runes, I set them up myself— cool right?"

"Your— yourself? So you’re not crazy?"

"Hmm, well mmm can i trust you to keep a secret?"

"No."

"Great, so— wait did you just say no?"

"Exactly!"
