Building My Guild With A Blank Scroll-Chapter 62: Even
Chapter 62: Even
’Master, please...’
*THUD!
Lo-an dismounted his courser, his hands going to reactivate the runes after he was off it. His eyes glued on none other than Kaleb, he took two steps forward when—
*BANG!
"Energy Blast- Second Form[Heartcore Detonation]"
A wave of pure golden auraed spiritual energy burst out of Lo-an as he used a spirit technique. The wave, sharp and fast could be seen going in all directions.
"I spared you for your previous stunt Kaleb." He mumbled under his breath. "But anyone who touches my bastards while I’m around must die!" His words were loud and clear.
"Brace yourself!" Kaleb yelled out, his eyes lighting up with a sliver flame with the sword in his hands following after. Lifting it upright before him, he removed his hands from the hilt, immediately placing his clenched left fist on it.
"Bind." He activated the storage ring’s magnetic draw-in, yet with the sword positioned in an unfavourable way to send it into the storage space, it could only stay in place. Manipulating his energy to his hand, the sword being heavy to be held with one hand, also considering the sharp incoming wave.
*BAN– BANG– BANG!
Kaleb was pushed a full 10 feet away, despite having reinforced his footing with an ample amount of spiritual energy.
’Die, that’s quite funny old man. I’d teach you a lesson you’d learn for the rest of your life. Oh, I forgot— you wouldn’t even be alive.’ He smirked at his thoughts. Currently standing right next to Ral, who hadn’t been affected since he was down on his knees.
At the other end, behind Lo-an, the knights in their now bloodstained armours could be seen on the ground.
"Everyone alright?" Diz asked, checking up on the knights who had jumped off their mounts onto the ground just in time. "Talan, Kol, Fade..." The knight beside him made a roll call, ensuring there were no casualties.
’This is bad, our mounts had been latitudinally halved. Did this old man have to be only 6 feet tall?’ Diz complained. ’How do we escape from this wizard now? A Manifestor is too much for a bunch of high-level Manipulators and two Channellers. What I’m saying, is Ral wouldn’t attack his so-called Master.’
"Kaleb?" Ral muttered. "We grew up together in the Academy, and we swore fealty to your father— all four of us, the others did it because of Tav’s convincing though I brought it up."
"He decided to kill six knights, for what? I gave him a chance, yet he decided to shove it away and interrupt the mission." Kaleb retorted firmly.
"I know my brothers, none would ever want an end for the Elmore family. He is an end to you and the Elmores IF YOU DON’T GET ON YOUR KNEES AND BEG FOR MERCY!"
Kaleb stared at him for a second, then back at Lo-an who now stood before Tav’s severed head. "You’re blinded by your pain, retreat to the mansion first and deal with you later on."
Lo-an could be seen with his hands trembling as he went to touch the severed head. "Tav, you little bastard — you just had to die. Why did you betray your master, your promise included yourself too bastard."
***************
"Waaaah!! Master! Master! Master!!" A child with long black hair could be seen in tears, as he sat on the path leading through the compound of the house behind him. "Waaaah! Waaaah!"
"Little Bastard? What did you do this time round?" A younger version of Lo-an having short gray hair with green emerald eyes full of life and youth popped out of the window on the second floor of the house. ’Such a crybaby.’
"Master! It’s Tutu! Waaah!!" Tav cried aloud, having a puddle of water before him with a goldfish on it, a still and unmoving one— it was dead to put it in simple terms of course.
’Tutu?’ Lo-an got back into the house and a few seconds later was jumping out of the house through the window.
*THUD!
’Wait, he killed the fish or it finally committed suicide from all the toxic unfishly diets.’ Lo-an dashed close to him, sitting by his side as he embraced him. "It’s alright, your dear all problem-solving Master is here for you."
*SNIFFLE!
*SNIFFLE!
Tav sobbed, calming down as a hug always worked magic on him each time, and his Master always made sure to give him lots of them. "There there, now tell me how Tutu di—" He paused with his words, thinking twice before starting all over again in a much neutral way. "What happened to Tutu?"
"I- I saw others taking their pets on walks, so I—" Tav didn’t have to say anymore, he’d gotten a vision of the entire situation the moment he heard him say ’walks’.
’Poor fish, you’ve suffered enough, guess all that’s left is to join tonight’s dinner. Just when I was thinking of using a horse instead— no one heard that right?.’
Listening as Tav rambled about how he’d taken a bucket of water to be wetting the ground. Tutu even being so positive about getting out that it kept dancing happily, all the way to it suddenly not responding anymore.
"Tutu is dead Tav?" Lo-an broke the already visible news to him, after letting him calm down from speaking unendingly.
"Really? Noo Tutu!" Tav mourned, going to grab the newfound item on the house’s menu.
’What was he thinking I’d do when he called me? Bring it back— of course, I could do something similar, but no, this is entering my soup at all costs.’
"But Tutu has another brother, would you like to meet him, little bastard?" Lo-an suddenly said, Tav’s eyes brightening up with his face beaming at his words.
"Really?! What’s his name, what’s his name?" He was all clingy now, seemingly forgetting about the one he’d murdered— kids.
’Name already? Lemme just make up something, my soup might get burned anytime soon.’ He thought, glancing at the dead fish whose lifeless eye, seemed to be on his and possibly read his thoughts.
"Mitu— his name is Mitu. Don’t kill Mitu this time." Lo-an said, playfully warning him, though he wouldn’t mind another appetizer later on.
"I swear to never let it die, I won’t let anyone die— it’s a knight’s path!" He said with a certain newfound drive.
"Hah, this bastard wants to be a knight, good good. I’ll hold you accountable if you break your oath — haha."
’At least not for Mitu or any other future ’tus’ to come.’
"Let’s get back into the house— help out Ral with the horses heh," Lo-an suggested, standing up while holding Tav and not forgetting to grab and shove it into his pocket.
************
*AAAAHHH!!
"WHY! WHY DID YOU BREAK YOUR OATH! IT WAS A KNIGHT’S OATH YOU BASTARD!"
"Kaleb, do you remember NobleHouse Yalen?" Ral asked, still on his knees with his face up and eyes closed.
"What’s a fallen house supposed to do with this."
"You went to the same Candidate Center with them right?" The other gave no response, Ral continuing with his words. "Those two
brothers attacked Dan back then, we got beaten up and as usual Master was there to save the day. Yet this time round they were nobles, but Master was the one to be feared instead."
His words seemed to catch the attention of the other. "For the first time, Master had left us for more than an hour. And that night, the Yalens were nothing but dust."
"Empty words won’t stop me from beheading that wizard," Kaleb stated firmly, Ral seemingly expecting such— it was Kaleb after all.
"Archer Types!!" He called out to the knights behind him, also covered in blood as their mounts had been halved from Lo-an’s attack.
Looking at each other, for a second they immediately stood up, grabbing their bows and arrows. "Yes Sir!"
"Nock your bows!" He ordered.
Diz on the other side could see what was going on, also going into action and following the lead of their superior. "Knights of Elmore!"
"Yes Sir!" Those around him also stood up, grabbing their weapons and shields.
’Carl is knocked out, we’ll have to get him out of the enemy’s reach.’ Diz thoughts, calling out to two knights behind him to silently grab him. Being Warrior Type they were known to usually have more monster leather for armour than metal, as it increased their flexibility.
"Aim at that bloody wizard!"
"You don’t want to do this Kaleb," Ral warned.
Digging his sword into the ground, he raised his hands to his face, Ral noticing and recognizing the storage ring on his finger.
"You killed him," Lo-an mumbled under his breath, having done it repeatedly. "YOU KILLED MY BASTARD!!!" Tav’s death had gotten to him far more than expected, almost to a maddening extent.
’He’d be killed if this happens, I must do something.’
"Meet your end, Old Man." Kaleb could be seen drawing something out of a mini-portal before him, the hilt of a sword— purple in colour.
"Fi—"
"Fire at your own risk if you wish him headless."
"This—" Diz was stunned like all the knights.
"What do you think you’re doing Ral?!"
