Building An Empire Starting From The Labor Camp In Exile-Chapter 326: Sat
Atrox sat.
And the throne did not reject him.
And after that, things went fast without the dramatics.
The Demon cheered when Atrox did not burn to ashes because according to them, all the people, everything being that sat on the throne except the lord burns to ashes.
Atrox was curious about that and he suspected that the throne that looked like a simple thing was actually an artifact, but he did not have the time to check it because the White Demon told him he could not stay much longer or else he might just collapse with the others because of the difference between the two realms.
So Atrox cut the celebration short. Apparently, it was even easier as a Lord in the Demon realm because his every word was instantly obeyed. No one tried to reason why he did what he did.
Everyone was loyal to the lord. When he asked the White Demon the reason for that, he smiled as he answered, "That’s because here, our powers are shown in the most brutal way. And because everyone knows that to get a title then you must have the power to defend it and light the dark. It makes subordinates ever loyal because they instantly respect strength and power."
Atrox pointed out that he was not powerful. He had felt some of the powers that came from beings that were his ’subordinates’ and he knew just how weak his own power was.
"That’s because they did not see power as just something that you have inside you. The Lord of the Eternal Prye lights up its territory with his power. You are the Lord. It is enough."
Atrox did not entirely understand, but he knew that the Demons respected the position that he carried, and not necessarily him himself. But then, the two are tied together, position and him.
So he did as the White Demon suggested. He ordered that the best enchanter in the Castle step forward. And he did.
The Demon was strange. He was thin like a scarecrow, but he wore a large hat on his head that looked way too much fleshy, as if it was part of him.
"I am, my lord." The Demon stepped toward the throne and kneeled.
By this time, every other Demon apart from the ones that were the inner circle of the castle had retreated.
Atrox tapped the base of the chair. "You are the most strongest enchanter. Good, good."
’.....to be honest I feel uncomfortable among them.....it is so strange....everything.....from them to the Castle and the darkness that seems to be living in every corner....I’m not used to anything....and it feels like I’m just here to cheat them....’
Atrox sighed. Those Demons had been searching for their new Lord for years and now they found him, but Atrox was not really ready to rule a place in the Demon realm. He still had not ruled his own world as he wanted, why add to his trouble?
Although, it could be a nice hiding place just in case.
Tiber, who was behind the throne with Eryndor, leaned closer. "My Lord, I suggest you just use your straightforward way."
Atrox nodded and went straight to the point. He started by saying that he could not rule them for now. He told them he still had a lot of things to do, and then he told them what those things were and the problem he was currently facing.
When he finished, what happened was not what Atrox was expecting.
The throne room was suddenly filled with growls and angry clenching of fists and fangs.
"Our Lord is caught between two armies?"
"I knew you had the look of a warrior! He has been fighting long before he even became the Lord!"
"My Lord, take me with you and I will lay waste to everything in your path!"
"Unleash us on them! We are ready to do war on your behalf, Lord!"
"Take us with you! We will clear a way for you!"
Atrox let them say what they wanted and waited until they calmed down. "With my powers right now, there is no way to take you all along with me. What I need right now is someone that can solve the problem of the Akatsuki for me. Especially how their location can be detected. I want it known."
He turned to the enchanter who bowed. "I am Tong."
Atrox shifted. "Tong, do you have a solution for me?"
"I do. From the description of the Akatsuki throne, it is an artifact of a very high caliber. Its powers are likely one of the reasons the desert is so harsh. It is like a large formation that would draw essence from the land itself. The land it calls as its territory."
Atrox narrowed his eyes. "Are you saying the Clan leaders are the problem for themselves?"
"My Lord, a desert is a brutal place, but from what you described, an artifact that can control where water flows and influence monsters and animals in such a large scope must be drawing its powers from somewhere."
Atrox sat up. Essence is not just needed by Knights. Everyone, everything in the world needs it. It is what makes forests flourish and what makes everything what it is.
Atrox gritted his teeth. "Those bastards destroyed their lands and now they are hungry for mine! I’ll feed them to the dogs. Tell me, Tong. Do you know how I can pin their location and know where the real Throne is?"
Tong raised his head. The cap of his head pulled back to reveal a mouth that smiled. "My Lord, I can read the patterns of how it is drawing energy. Or using its powers. In fact, I should be able to read the connection between it and its own!"
Atrox smiled, and it was not a nice smile. "Tong. What position do you hold in my court of Eternal Prye?"
Tong went to his knees. "My Lord, when the former lord perished, all important positions held by everyone in the court were deemed void, as is law and tradition."
Atrox raised his brows. ’....so that the new Lord can bring in his own people?...not bad.....but bad for the stability of the land...’
"Then what position did you hold before?"
